DE Rocks! I have had stellar results using it against roaches and water bugs in and around the house. It also works great on feather mites on chickens. Don't put big piles of it around, just a tad in the palm of your hand and blow it into the area you want. It seems to have stopped the termites that were munching on my house also...

DE takes hours to days and maybe even weeks to work. Don't expect immediate results from using it.

Diatomaceous Earth

Homemade remedies are inexpensive and, best of all, you know what is going into your garden. Many homemade sprays have been used with good results to control harmful insects. They usually involve noxious (but non-toxic) ingredients such as garlic, cayenne, stinging nettles or horsetail which are diluted in water and blended to be sprayed on the plants.
