My Windows example may seem trivial, but it is not. Windows has made life easier for billions. Christianity cannot do this, because it simply refuses to grow. It has been in stasis for 2000 years. In the end, Christianity forces morality by way of fear. But ethics can't be forced. Morality is developed through coercision. Ethics is developed through personal reflection. In the end, people who are ethical have the ability to give more to society than people who are moral.

If it is other religions beside Christianity, I believe Copeland believes Jesus is the only way to heaven. He doesn't believe in antagonizing those of other faiths as it is unloving and impractical. I was mainly commenting that I don't like the government invading churches; Copeland's wasn't the only one.
@blamtasticful I meant other religions. I think the government and churches need to work together at some level. The government is the one that allows religion its freedom. If a church decides to put that nation's citizens in jeopardy, it is the responsibility of that government to intervene.

Mike Huckabee referred to Kenneth Copeland as "a man of integrity"?! The level of Cognitive Dissonance when it comes to "men of god" in American society is extraordinary. To offer support to Copeland and his "ministry" is to turn a blind eye to a mountain of evidence that he is morally banktrupt, and NOTHING more than a used car salesman.

When I was younger, Jesse and Copeland were my favorite preachers. But as I grew older and began to read the scriptures I could see that I had easily been led down the wrong path...by funny, charismatic, and charming personalities. Look at it this way, if you shoot a rocket to the moon and you're off by one degree... How far off would you be once you got there? If you don't know the scriptures, then you may be easily led astray and be far off base in your understanding of Christ later in life.

He's use to people not having paid off their bills so that he can apply pressure to them by leaking it to the press, causing donations to slow down. Ken Copeland is not concerned about Chuck Grassley. That investigation is dead in the water. Because of his meddling, Grassley has suffered the wrath of his own party in Iowa. I understand that KCM took their books to the IRS and told them to find anything wrong that they could. They found nothing amiss. The senator does not have the legal right or standing to demand anything of any non-profit. Kudos to Ken Copeland ministries, and I hope you run for president Mike, you'd get my vote!

My Windows example may seem trivial, but it is not. Windows has made life easier for billions. Christianity cannot do this, because it simply refuses to grow. It has been in stasis for 2000 years. In the end, Christianity forces morality by way of fear. But ethics can't be forced. Morality is developed through coercision. Ethics is developed through personal reflection. In the end, people who are ethical have the ability to give more to society than people who are moral.

If it is other religions beside Christianity, I believe Copeland believes Jesus is the only way to heaven. He doesn't believe in antagonizing those of other faiths as it is unloving and impractical. I was mainly commenting that I don't like the government invading churches; Copeland's wasn't the only one.

@blamtasticful I meant other religions. I think the government and churches need to work together at some level. The government is the one that allows religion its freedom. If a church decides to put that nation's citizens in jeopardy, it is the responsibility of that government to intervene.
I secretly wish that governments would ban Christianity from being practiced, because a belief in god actually makes people less moral. Only technological advances allows us time to reflect on ethics.

How do you think that ethics can evolve with technology? Ethics aren't really a physical thing like technology so I don't think that would work. If for example I think it is wrong to kill someone no matter what circumstances, how will a more technologically advanced society help arguments on that subject?

Generally speaking, as we become more a convenient a society, the less we need to depend on sustenance, and the more time we can spend on higher endeavours. The goal of technology is not to make us lazy, but to allow us to be more contemplative. That's what people like Bill Gates have done with Windows.

Those who are truly led by the Spirit seek after salvation and truth, not soulish intent, earthly desires, or fleshly indulgences. The belief that Christians can speak physical realities into existence as long as the believer exercises enough faith to convey his or her verbal confession that Copeland teaches is deceptive. There is nothing that is positively confessed by faith whether it is verbalized or not, that shall come to pass unless it is God’s will. This false confession of faith is thought actualization, which gives words and thoughts power to verbally produce results based on the use of spiritual laws.

It is given to them to pacify their flesh. This teaching of materialism masquerading as theology is not the purpose of the Gospel. Prophets have been called by God to speak for Him and to be His messenger. God speaks to these men who are commanded to reveal to mankind His plan of salvation, His will, His character, and His truth. A prophet testifies of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, that He died for our sins, they preach of repentance, condemnation, judgment, sin, and eternal torment. These are the things that prophets of God do, but that Kenneth Copeland as a false prophet does not.

If you went to his website and clicked on what they believe you would see that they believe the Jesus was the son of God, he died for our sins, and that you must repent. He preaches judgement when appropriate and gives a corrective word. I've also seen him preach that many times as the ONLY way to heaven. You have made false statements about him and the bible says not to bear false witness. REPENT.

And since you mentioned the prophets then you should know that they advocated personal responsibility and accountability before God. This virtue as well a spirit of Humility, are both essential for the believer and are both mutually exclusive. When I was younger, Jesse and Copeland were my favorite preachers. But as I grew older and began to read the scriptures I could see that I had easily been led down the wrong path...by funny, charismatic, and charming personalities. Look at it this way, if you shoot a rocket to the moon and you're off by one degree... How far off would you be once you got there? If you don't know the scriptures, then you may be easily led astray and be far off base in your understanding of Christ later in life.

He's use to people not having paid off their bills so that he can apply pressure to them by leaking it to the press, causing donations to slow down. Grassley had from the beginning access to the information through the IRS and didn't take it. It abruptly ended when the copelands dropped off answers to all the questions to an IRS office and invited them to audit them to see if there was any wrong doings.

Romans 3:23, Romans 4:15, Romans 5:15-21, 2nd Corinth 2:9., 2Thes 2:16. Hebrews 4:16. There are many more verses on that. What it means is that we are not saved by works or being perfect. We are saved by grace.

We are not under law but under grace. John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians all deal with the subject of grace. Also there is a book called "Grace, the Power to Change".

@drServitus Sorry for posting that twice- I thought my first one didn't post. Yes, men have testosterone, which is a cause of that biologically. But, God does not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. The bible says Walk in the spirit and you will avoid the lust of the world. This may or may not be something you want to do, but the option is there for you if you want it. Grace is not a license to sin but the point is that we have forgiveness and hope - not condemnation.

@FemalePatriot The law we are talking about is Jesus's law, not the Pharases.Jesus, in this verse is trying to promote a moral value.That looking at a woman and thinking of sex is the same as adutery, just as imoral.This is clearly NOT Pharases law.This is Jesus preaching to the sinners about HIS law.How in the world did you get that from these passages Jesus is preaching the Parases law? I thought the so called "word of faith" people got their name because they taught that faith in the Word was paramount (Akin to Solo Scriptura). The faith folks i know, stress using your faith to see the plan of God fulfilled in your life. How is that unbalanced.
Im sincerly asking. I've never really heard of the "word of faith" thing but i know people who others call them word of faith and they are always right on with what the Bible teaches.

The word-faith movement, or the name-it-and-claim-it gospel, teaches that faith is a force and words are containers of the force; it's new age stuff, not Christianity. It encompasses the prosperity gospel and the deification of man garbage. It's all scripture twisting by greedy, unspiritual people who can only be defended by those who do not know God and/or His Word. God takes His Truth very seriously and so should all who call themselves Christians. Word-faith teachings are doctrines of demons.
