  • is that rammstein ich will in the background playing

  • should get urself a inch dumbbell

  • NICE

  • Cool. Keeping these things alive is important for weightlifting culture.

  • NOW DO IT WITH A THICK BAR!!!

    but seriously, nice lift bro!

  • Was standard "olympic" screw type, now threaded pipe with bolts.

  • what kind of collars are you using for dumbbells?

  • Wow! Mental!

  • This video creeped me the out. That's some serious Saw IV shit you've got going on in there

  • Amazing. You are a very strong individual, I bet you could squeeze someones head till it explodes haha.

    Do you use hand grippers?

  • Sweet oldschool strengttraining :) Awesome inspiration.

  • fake plates

  • 5 kg plates

  • good lift very explosive

  • RAMMSTEIN !!!!!!!!!! its the best thing to listen to when im lifting, also try ruoska!

  • This is really something ! ! !

  • the amazing thing about you, is you arent "big" you just have hercules strength which is amazing, and wont that workout damage your back in the longrun?

  • Thanks, health is more important than all the numbers.

    Human beings are well designed,

No back problems yet:) hope to keep it that way.

    Stay strong!

  • Magnificent work.

  • great strength, unbelievable...

  • nice..i do these for shoulders after military ....180 5reps ...

  • im sure you do...

  • then post your video!

  • Excellent lift. All the haters in these comments make me chuckle. They'll never be truly strong. Oh well. Your feats of strength will be all the more impressive, because there will be fewer people who will actually try them because they are to busy using "the idea of momentum" and preening themselves in the mirror after a tough set of 3 lb side laterals followed by an hour of mindless chatter. Keep up the good work, Steelpot!

  • Thnx!

Does anyone know where to buy "muscles in the can"?

I want to look big in my local watering hole...

  • You have very powerful ' real world ' strength, a true rarity in the current fitness world, now dominated by cosmetic strength - merely looking strong rather than actually being strong.

  • thnx.

  • Is liting dumbbells harder han lifting barbells?

  • 150 lbs is a heavy weight, lift such as this is twice that of average "strong" man.

Handfull of males can claim such full-body strength.

    Great job!

Magicman531 has a voice of reason.

Globe-bell with "bullet" shaped heads seems the next option..

  • Well, that's actually a jerk, but 180 one handed, and cleaned, is strong, very strong.

  • Thnx. Working on technique, 25# olympic plates are too tall and get snagged on shoulder. Hate dipping under the weight, other options would include "long" standard dumbbell or globe-bell with10inch diameter heads..

  • Great lift. What impressed me is not only that you lifted that amount of weight overhead with one hand, but that you pretty much also cleaned it with one hand, using the other only to stabalize. I can only clean and press about 100-110 with one hand.

  • 100-110# is no joke. Glad someone else also lifts heavy dumbbells.

    Stay strong!

  • how much you clean and press

  • I did have a question about the 180 lbs thought. I noticed that your dumb bell had (it appears) 6 10 lb plates (60 lbs) and 2 5 lb plates (10 lbs). That's only 60 + 10 = 70 lbs. The bar would have to weight 110 lbs?? Are those heavier plates???

  • There are:

Six 25lb olympic plates, two 10lb plates and a 12 lb olympic handle with collars...

    Stay strong!

  • Oh those are olympic plates, that's cool! Thanks for clearing that up!! Great job man and hope to see you soon at the Arnold's Classics or in competition! :) Do you have any competition vids you can upload?? I'd love to check them out!!

  • Go to Arnold's yearly... It turned into freak-show. Will spare you the boredom of watching my vids.

Train hard, life is too short not to!

  • It's really a freak show now? That's disappointing cause I was thinking about going this year. Oh no boredom here man, your vids are great!! Yes definitely, always train hard, back injuries and all!!

  • Great lifting man! One arm presses are much tougher than two arm presses as a lot of ppl commenting here seem to forget. You have to recruit a lot more muscles for the insane amount of balance it takes! I know cause I've been using kettle bells for a long time! Good job!!

  • Cool Vid, but I think it would be cooler to see you press up the weight without other body movement. You should only use your deltoids, and not the jolt of you whole body.

  • Thanks.

The beauty of this lift is the mechanics of total body movement, in which each individual muscle group 'fires" in sequence to provide both lift , then support..

Not to worry, my delts got a great workout that day /only reason why I lift weights/.

  • wow

do you can lift a people overhead?

  • Yes, on occassion..

  • wiry strength galore. the oddball lifts you perform make you strong but not big.

  • thnx.

  • This exercise is called a "Jerk" not a "Press".

  • Name for this lift is: "OVERHEAD DUMBBELL SIDE PUSH PRESS"! sheesh!

Decided to cut out the in between wording and left with overhead...press.

    Yawn.

  • this was really great!

  • i dont understand why people hate when they can not deadlift that weight

  • GREAT comment below.Read and laugh...HAHAHA.

Next time you try lifting any kind of weights, remmember it does not develop strength and is pointless.HAHAHA!!!

  • Pointless exercise. It does not develop strength just it's based on momentum, so it develops that kind of power.

  • Every lift is based on the idea of momentum, idiot.

  • What the hell is the "idea of momentum"?

Some bullshit you made up? :)

NOTHING is based on the "idea of momentum"...

Strength comes from the muscle contractions controlled by the brain...

Muscle contractions generate power to move weights directly opposing the gravity...

Time for your ballet class, retard!

  • No. 'Muscular' lifts don't use momentum- these are the traditional lifts you'd see in a training center. This lift was reminiscent of what you'd see a powerlifter do, sort of a clean and snatch. You didn't use your deltoids to press the weight.

  • @milnusthegnome any movemant working against gravity develops strength

  • Damn man, you're very strong great workouts in your videos you motivated me to work harder at the gym thanks for the videos.

  • NEXT TIME...

Will try to lift a 182# off the ground without bending my body over!?By use of "force" like my master Yoda ;)

  • but really impressive...

  • this is really not good for your bones...stop it. you dont need to risk your health....if you got power...show it to yourself and train normally!

  • Thanks!

  • well, its not bad, but I prefer seeing how much weight you do without bending your body over,

  • again on easy days dudes

  • lol i like how he spray painted the weight on the wall

  • nice job man! also nice choice of rammstein

  • Thnx.

Have you tried Capoeira?..Judging from your vids it will be easy and suits your movement style.

  • There's nothing better to workout to than Rammstein. Good lift!

  • Rammstein Rules!

  • The plates look like they would be 6 kilos each at most.

  • Must be a conspiracy...to fool entire World that Steelpot1 is strong!Hahaha.

See the video response to this one:)

  • Lol! That word does not exist in English language. Stay strong!

  • I'm also jealous of the powerlifters at my gym, I wish I went down that avenue instead of mass building now.

  • Thnx. Weigh in at 250lbs.140# and 120# last time when completed.

  • No problem will do the lift over, this time with the numbers out, for all you unbelievers out there:)

76kg sounds wonderful, GJ! Looking forward to your vids!

  • this looks like 3 7.5's and a 5 either side. this isnt 180lbs. whats with the ancient plates lol? why dont you use modern? good stuff though i do a similar thing myself. should have some vids up on the morrow. i do standind military dumbell presses with 66kg dumbell for 10 reps, and clean and press a 76kg dumbell, havnt practised long though.

  • Use heavy dumbbells /60# and up/. Lots of singles and thriple reps. No rush or schedule, got a lifetime to get strong.

Pick your favorite lift, but do all others as well. Stay strong!

  • amazing strength! do you mostly train just using 1 dumbbell or is there some other system/implement you use?

  • Thanks, like dumbbell swings, introduced to them by Pavel Tsatsouline /super-athlete/.

I live in USA, stay strong!

  • awesome lift my friend - you are right to be proud! Have you tried dumbbell swings with a weight like this - a la Brooks? That works nicely too - although drop the weight for that -like your block lift to barrel too - very innovative! Good strength - what country are you in? T

  • sick

  • 150lbs is awesome, not really on the numbers game. seen too many people hurt trying to "beat records".Using numbers to gage progress in training. Most important thing is ...health.

  • awesome man...the most i've done is 150 lbs.

  • You are Right...the handle weighs at 12 lbs, six 25lb plates weigh...150...two 10 lbs plates weigh...20lbs, collars 3 ounces each...

TOTAL 182. LBS and 6 oz

    Or 82.72 kilo :)

  • that wasn't 180lbs

  • I would like to dedicate this lift to the greatest strongmen of our time Jon Pall Sigmarsson and late Jesse Marunde along with David Webster. Hail to the Hardcore Brotherhood!
