Thanks so much for sharing yr trip . I was in Damascus about 15 yrs ago for about 4 months visiting friends and i miss it there so much . One thing i didn't know was about John the Baptist ..very interesting . Very beautiful shots tks again !!
Dear that was amazing, i heard that there are 7 gates located in Old Damascus have you seen that, i came to know that Christianity has deep roots in Old Damascus especially old churches.
I love it the way you describe everything as cool and funky, when it's a 1000-year-old sultan's palace =). Here in Europe I was brought up with a sense of respect for things that are older than 100 years. I guess for Americans, you lack the perspective...
@Lostinthebigworld I'm Canadian - any building over 100 years old is historic to us, it's hard to wrap our minds around buildings that are thousands of years old
"I didn't make it to the MAN's side of the Mosque"
With the deep voice, the stocky shouldered build AND the square jaw IF you were not wearing make-up I doubt anyone would have believed you were a female and you could have risked going across to the Men's side.
one note, a lot of the things you saw in Syria were specific to a certain time period (the four day eid). Like the excessive traffic in aleppo, the slaughtering of animals in lattakia and the choir in damascus, if go there in any other time things might seem quite different
I think I know this guy, is this 3zat or ezzat damn I haven't seen him in like years...
