When I asked in the first place that "why the gas station didn't blow up?", it was because I assumed there is a chance for the gasoline leaking from gas tank! As a result if gas is leaking, since there is oxygen, and fire too, this trinity under normal circumstances allow a big explosion to occur smartass! Anyways, as far as I understand the gas was not leaking although the car crashed into the gas tank. That was what surprised me in the first place.

The there are multiple tanks under the ground as well as the shut off valve (located in the pipes) that is turned on from the shut off button outside,by the pump, where ever it can be located. So the chance of a gas station blowing up is very small. unless the shut off fails then you may as well have the hotdogs ready.

Anyways, very dangerous move by the cops, I don't know about American Petrol Stations, but over here in New Zealand, most of our stations have an LPG spot next to at least one of our pumps. If that had been hit, it could've taken out the main LPG tank, and THAT wouldn't of ended well.
