Looks like a snapping turtle. They have long tails like that. Not positive, though...

they are alligator snapping turtles, or in some countries, called mata mata. and they get huge. here in oklahoma, a few years back, we recorded one as big as 4ft. in diameter of the shell, and weighing in around 165lbs. no joke. a biggun.
