  • When I make crepes or pancakes, I never boil the milk nor use butter in the mix. Is there any reason to doing it that way, or is it just preference?

  • Hi Alia! first of all, thanks for all these wonderful recipes of urs....i am chef too, and im totally impressed from the quality of ur cooking, to not mention the taste of the plates :=) I just wasted to suggest u a little variant for the Crepe cake. If u r going to use Nutella as second filling, try to add a bit of grated coconut on the nutella crepe..it will taste even more heavenly!! :) what du u think about? Greetings from Italy!!

  • @xPunkway You need to add the hot milk slowly and whisk the whole time so that the hot milk doesn't cook the eggs. Hope that helps:)

  • A nice trick I learned from my mother, to ease the spread of thick fillings, is to warm the spatula (preferably metallic) in hot/warm water. The filling should spread very easily afterwards and you need only dip it again when you experience resistance again.

    I like your recipes and this recipe is definitely going for a test drive this weekend. I'll probably make this and another variation with fruit and lemon cream filling, since not everyone likes chocolate.

  • i wish it was available in gramms and such, because in germany we dont cook with cups. we weigh all ingredients :( id love to try this, yet i believe i will fail because of the measuring. -sigh- anyways, this looks wonderful :D

    you can just google it. for example, type in google: 1 cup of flour in grams. There are many kitchen converters online. hope this helps!

  • Slm Alia, loved the idea to make a cake of crepes, never thought of that. I've made this 3x already, but to avoid 2 much eggs and yolks, I replaced the filling with banana slices,nutella, roasted hazelnuts(cutted small) with a ganache cover.The 2nd time a filling of sliced peaches and honey. 3rd time a filling of cinnamon,lemon juice, raisins and sliced apples.Next time I'll try coconut flakes, condensed milk and roasted almonds with a ganache cover.Love ur recipes,bless you and keep that smile

    * 3/4 cup milk  * 1/3 cup butter

    Preparation:

    1. Melt the butter.

    2. Pour it into the milk, and stir.

    3. Use in place of one cup of heavy cream.
