I have the same modem and mine like's to cut me out every couple of hours for a second. also someday's I'll have over 2megs and others I'll have 0.75 today i'm in the middle at 1.5 megs. I tried everything too, I set the modem on ch11 set it to the highest power and speed and even had someone check my line connection and they tell me everything's fine...?

DITTO to all the multiple problems. I just fixed mine myself. I replaced the connector but, it was not bad. I found the tech who hooked up the wires put the wrong ones to my internet phone jack (CAT3). They had the orange cat5 wires going into my cat3 phone jack to the dsl modem. Well, the blue cat5 wires work. Im guessing the only reason I have had any internet at all is due to stupid luck. It's called crosstalk. If the tech hooked the main wires into the outside box instead of (see next post)
I have had Dsl for 14 years, Only issue I have ever had was to replace the modem/router 3 times in those 14 years. I have the Pro speed 3.0 down. 512 up. play MMORG games,XBOx, and all wireless.. No issues.

For anybody using this modem, I have it, and had this same issue, when it was first hooked up. Pick up your regular phone, and press a number and see if you hear any noise at all. The slightest little bit of static, popping, sizzling or humming will cause the modem to act crazy.
If you check your filters, and all are good, then there's a wiring problem in the phoneline, somewhere, most likely. Bug AT&T to get it fixed, took us 6 weeks to finally get somebody out here to fix it.
@lolivampire Call AT&T, they may have a. your speed throttled or b. there may be a problem with your phone line. Have them test the lines from their end, yes there are tests they can run, to see if that is the problem. You can also try unplugging your modem unplug all the phones and filters and turn on only the modem and see if that fixes it. But most importantly call AT&T and complain. My friends were also paying for 6.0 Extreme service, but were only getting 700KBPS, ATT had them

That's usually caused by bad filters or wiring issueds. Sometimes, a speed downgrade can fix the issue if you are provisioned too high. Call tech support and keep bugging them until the problems are fixed. If you can go to Uverse, do that. :)

Turns out, it was a wiring problem in the phoneline, up near the road. The phoneline was broke, causing static, popping, and crackling noises in the line. The phoneline must be crystal clear for the router to work properly.
@xburns2 Any slight static, humming, or popping in the phoneline will cause the modem to go nuts. It's very sensitive. I hope you got yours going by now.
Meanwhile... My Xfinity Internet from Comcast has dropped 0 times, and has been fast and reliable since I got it when... Hell, it was AT&T Broadband Cable Services back in the day lol
The box is as far away from anything as we can get it and it still fucks up, the filters on the phones don't do shit and the whole disconnect and reconnect only works for a few hours or it just doesn't do anything. I've had to reboot it 5 times today... I may have to again in the next few minutes... that's how much this little shit box sucks!
I work on at&t technical support. Your internet is like that because there is some interference. You need to move the MODEM at least 3ft away from ANY ELECTRONICAL DEVICE. The dsl cable should be only 6 ft long. Filters on phones. When you have everything connected, disconnect the 3 cables from behind including the power cord, wait for 1 minute and connect them again. Your problem should be resolved.
@karendore my router is not near any electronic device and it gives the same crap as the one in this video. It started to act like this in summer (I live in Houston, so it is hell here now). The same happens in my friend's house and with wifi at school. Is it possible that transmitters get overheated and malfunction?
My AT&T DSL use to crash, but not anymore. We fixed that. Now it is just fucking slow. It takes me 12 hours to download 1 GB. It lags on videos that aren't even high definition. If someone else tries to use the Wifi on it that's when it crashes. AT&T F-ing sucks.
What you have is intermittent sync. The Gateway is doing its job-telling you the signal is bad. To keep a good connection with any modem you have to have good noise margins and proper filters setup.I use same router/modem but with Qwest(Custom Rom).You need to talk to tech support and ask them to check the line. Numbers don't lie and i bet the numbers on your line are horrible, they need to send a tech out if you have done your job(which no one ever does and this video is pointless)and put fltrs
I have this exact same problem with the same modem/router. My old router was the motorola speed stream that worked perfectly for the last 8 years until it started to act up early this year. Or so I thought. We called AT&T and were told that we qualified for the DSL pro (landline-less) and a free 2wire device as a replacement of the old modem. Then the nightmare has not ended since. The device has been replace since and the problem continues.
Yeah they suck the internet has been fucking up on me for about 1 and a half weeks now. And im having the same problem as you right now we pay for 6.0 mbps download speed and 2 mbps upload speed but we have about 1/2 mbps download and like 0.55 mbps upload. So what did you do to fix your internet i really need something new because im fed up with att.

those 2wire routers are horrible. Ive had a bad experience with it cutting out connection and reconnecting me to the internet like what is happening to your router when I play certain games online, On my XBOX 360. I have netgear dgn1000 router. It works great. I suggest it to you. Its a modem/router both in the box.

I cancelled it three months ago and already got a cancellation code but I just got a new bill today so I went in and told that the account is only cancelled on December 29th so I had to pay for all those months. fuck! they have the worse service ever. will never use their services again. I am lucky my DSL is working right now, but the thing may be that you are now in the AT&T U-verse network thing.
Just talk with your crappy dsl guys and see if you can switch to u-verse.
Its way faster than dsl, and im getting my u-verse installed the 17th of august.
