where's the problem TruthSeeker1988, the bill started out as ONLY to exstend unemployment. And right before they went to vote on it 3 differenmt tax cuts was thrown in (I was watching CSPAN3 at the time it happen).

This happens to every bill. It's called an amendment. This bill had 17 of them proposed and each one was voted on just like they do with anything else. Many of these amendments were done by Republicans and they were accepted. 139 Republicans voted YES on the bill so I don't see why you would have a problem with it.

Public Option, likened to European system, Result, 50+% income tax rates. no deductions, no exemptions. 500 million in first year Social Security cuts, with an equal amount from Medicare. I know, some of you kids don't think the retired have earned anything, wrong. Bankrupting the Insurance companies, making government the only option. If you like waiting, limitations, you'll love this. Take the DNC blinders off and read the bill for what it is.

Obama please ask Americans to produce Nickel Metal Hydride batteries like the ones found in the Toyota Rav 4 EV. If a company patents something and claims that they cannot make money by producing it, they lose their right to the patent. Can you make that happen? If a company has a patent on batteries, and refuses to produce those batteries, they should lose the patent and let another company try to make it work.

Time is the only forfeiture of a patent unless the pantentee free gives it away. You need not actual make use of a patent. Thats not how it works.

There are times when patents need to be observed and there are times when patents need to be questioned. Many of Microsoft's patents are essentially welfare for the rich. And an oil company owning patents on technology that will make oil obsolete, I think there is a slight conflict of interest there. Or Roundup and roundup ready seeds. Patented roundup ready seeds blow off a truck onto someones field, now they're facing a copyright infringement suit.

You must truly be a student of Stalin. R&D spent in the development of a product that results in a patent, is the sole property of the group or company that developes or invents such product. It is their property exclusively to move to production or not. If another company wants to produce said product, they can offer to buy it. If refused that is the end of it. Although they would likely only gain knowledge of the item in question through industrial spying, a felony.

I actually don't know much about stalin. I do know that patents are intended to protect small businesses from big corporations. But corporations are now using them to protect their obscene profits and intentionally delay technological development. There was another time when a patent was put into public hands it lead to the invention of the radio.
