  • 5:53, Hitler and Popeye have the same voice actor.

  • pause at 5:11 ....nazi symbol...swastica

  • Look at the explosion @ 5:11.

    Great cartoon.

  • @pavelthe2 The natzi sign

  • 昭和天皇を殴るとは、この動画は非常に無礼だ

This animation is very impolite to hit the late emperor in Japan.

  • @japanese1560 Consider what tha Allies had in store for him in 1945. Only Truman agreeing to not trying and hanging. him saved him. The reverence the people for the Emperor, then his word (which would had saved the world unending misery) stopped the fanantical and useless fighting of the Jappanese military.

  • "Who do I know that can write?" - hilarious.

  • todo nazi

  • Even Bluto had spinch in this cartoon that must be quite rare

  • lol is there an undertaker in the house

  • actually, i think "B.O." stood for "body odor." And, as for Hitler looking like Moe Howard in the Three Stooges, you need to see the Stooges shorts "You Nazty Spy" and "I'll Never Heil Again," where Moe becomes Moe Hailstone, a parody of Hitler. Interestingly, both these shorts were made before the United States entered WWII, and the first beat out Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" by months.

  • Is there a UNDERTAKER *doctor crossed out* in the house?

  • Why was Popeye's secretury was a 1000 LBS?.

  • They could never do a cartoon like this today

  • Actually, Popeye was the 1st cartoon character to enlist.. Notice, he now has two eyes..

  • I love how they actually made Hirohito look like himself instead of just a stereotype

  • Anyone notice the swastika in the explosion?

  • @mikokit yes at 5:11

  • Haha, Bluto got hella big.

  • Without his mustache Hitler looks like Moe Horward from the 3 Stooges.

  • "Who do I know that can write?"

    LOL!! Classic Bluto!

  • Holy shit. Bluto's first wave of spinach-induced attack is so brutal the screen turned static for a moment.

  • hirohito was drawn rather naturalistically compared to the other Japanese characters. Almost handsome, in fact.

  • Hitler? Mussolini? Who is the japanese?

  • The Japanese is Emporer Hirohito.

  • Hahaha, another classic...BEEEEEEE-OHHHHHHH.......LOL

  • Take that ya Japs! I love Popeye ....and the Japanese. Propaganda at it's best.

  • Who do I know that can write?

Bluto a draft dodger, eh? Come to think of it, he does look a bit like Dick Cheney.

  • @katey1dog In all fairness, Bluto did join the US Navy..

  • Goering: "Adolf! Speak to me!"

    Hilter: "BEEEEEE-YOOOOOO"

    ROFL XD

  • @evilwillhunting That was funny lmao

  • And the end gag with B-L-U-T-O is a parody of Jell-O radio commercials at the time on The Jack Benny Show. J-E-L-L-O!!!

  • 0:19 animated by Abner Kneitel

  • popey was my favoite childhood cartoon, and im 5 now. the american youth needs to stop wathicng hannah montana and watch REAL cartoons

  • Did you mean 15, or 50?

  • The "beeeeeeeeeeee-ohhh' part where Hilter was making speech means that his "speeches" STUNK (as in Bad Odor), hences the B.O. gag. I Also love the part where the sign was change from "is there a doctor in the house" to is there a UNDERTAKER in the house!

  • BEEEEEEEE-OHHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • Popeye was a UDT sailor for sure!

  • Hahah i actually laughed when hitler Talked

  • lol how to spell blubo LOL blubo xD

  • Are all of the babies supposed to look like Tojo?

  • whats the bad guys name?

  • yeah, i heard a lot of old cartoons with characters saying that.

  • First off, Hitler was saying "Beeeeee-yoooooohhhhh," or "B.O." Second, how did Bluto's Village Smithy poem at the beginning go?

  • Now, I remember:

    Under some blacksmith tree,

    The village chestnut stands.

The nuts of highly man went through,

With washed up fists in hand.

  • Not quite, it's:

    Under a spreading blacksmith tree,

    The village chestnut stands.

The nut a mighty man was he,

with (I can't quite make out the rest)

The gag is that he's reciting Longfellow's "The Village Blacksmith," but he's doing it incorrectly (switching blacksmith and chestnut)

  • The rest is....

    With washed-up dishpan hands.

  • @YoshiAngemon

    Under a spreading blacksmith tree,

    The village chestnut stands.

The nut, a mighty man is he,

    With washed-up dishpan hands.

  • your right it was a parody of the old lifebuoy soap radio ads where they would have a foghorn like voice say "bo"

  • beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyoooooooooooooooooooo

    wtf?

  • Military and draft-dodgers, working together to fight insulting stereotypes. Instant classic.

  • Actually, it represents America's feelings up until and after the attack on Pearl Harbor; dead set against fighting, but enraged and ready to go after Pearl.

  • lol very funny

  • Popeye and Bluto RULE! I haven't seen this cartoon since the mid 50's! You can go out and buy readily available raw porno...but ya can't find THIS anywhere, cause it's "politically incorrect!"

  • I wonder if Americans will ever unite again to save the world?

  • We'll unite if you kids need us. No, no. Need us for real.

  • One of the few times Popeye and Bluto were on the same side.

  • well it was for a good cause... plus I was suprised that when the "Japs" beat up Popeye, Bluto shouts ,"They can't do that to the Navy!"

Apparently with the two enemies joining forces, they made a punch so powerful that even Hirohito and Hitler felt it!

  • Man, this cartoon made not much sense.

    Lol at Hitler's weird "Heeeeeeeeey-oooooooooh!"

  • No. just no. It's BEEEYYOOOOOOOOOOO

Kind of a classic cartoon injoke
