  • the oldest one looks like all grown version of iCarly girl

  • Commecial touches this ole dude to the point of tears. I soo miss my kids being little, they both are approaching 60 yrs and have kinda dropped me from their lives.

I have this in favorites and play it often.

    Lovin+Laffin=Livin...

  • Giants won.....

  • This is totally my dad every day... and I'm not even living with him anymore! haha so touching.

  • I pushes so many sentimental buttons. A great commercial, as so many Subaru ads are. I don't know why there aren't more of those fine cars on the road, especially in the South, which favors big ugly 4wds. I am driving my second Outback, and would "love" a new one.

  • "Be careful of that turbo lag"

  • So sad her dad is not letting her drive an STI.

  • My son will be 17 next week. This commercial makes me sad. It all goes by so fast

  • Love this; think of my Daughter every time I watch it ........ After all she means the world to me !

  • I want to take the older girl out to dinner with her dads permission.

  • Well thought-out AD.

  • what's girls name?

  • My dad cried during this commercial...he thought of me "growing up"

  • im 17 and i already know my future kid will have a subaru.

  • Beautiful!!

  • Little girl is sooo cute :))

  • well... ok

  • I love this commercial. Makes me tear up. lol

  • its ok

  • @tninbredretard AW, C'MON DUDE, SHE DIDN'T LOOK DRUGGED!

  • I love the way her father still saw her as his little girl & still protects her. Every girl needs a daddy like that.

  • "Daddy Okaaay"........she is too cute! That commercial made me want to have a little girl just like her, not a Subaru. :)

  • @fjaimes28 So what are you driving?

  • @snoopauggiedog I drive a Nissan 350Z :)

  • i love this commercial...

  • Both girls are his daughters in real life.

  • @GoinCreekin are you serious, i'm doing a homework assignment on this commercial just wondering if it is true?

  • @scottkan357975343 Yeah. Check it out for yourself.

(I tried to add a link to the article but YouTube won't let me. Just do a search of "Andy Lyons Subaru.)

  • @scottkan357975343 Yep. Check it out for yourself. I tried to give you a link to the article but YouTube wouldn't let me. Just do a search of "Andy Lyons (he's the actor whop plays the dad) Subaru" and you'll find it.

  • @GoinCreekin Wow. thanks, that's a pretty cool fact.

  • @scottkan357975343 Thanks so much for the answer! I had fun searching it out on the internet after you supplied me with the info.

  • @GoinCreekin seriously? how did you know that and who are they?

  • @DeniseLMira

"Andy Lyons, who plays the concerned father is actually experiencing this moment in his own life. "As father to both the girls, portraying those complex emotions on-screen was not a stretch for me. Having my first daughter, Lanna reach driving age and knowing that my second, Georgie, will be there all too soon, I understand the anxiety of handing over the keys for the first time."

  • @DeniseLMira

"...The spot also outlines the inherent safety of Subaru vehicles and in looking to authentically portray that "hand-over moment" the company felt fortunate in finding the Lyons family. "When we found this family we threw out the script," added Mayer. "We simply asked the dad, what would you tell your daughter before she pulled away? The dad took it from there and he was perfect.'"

  • she looked igzactly like me when i was little but i had supper blounde hair and bright blue eyes O.O

  • as the liitle girl sticks out her tongue , she realy thinks she is gonna drive that car ,sooo cute !!!

  • I love this one too! so cute :)

  • By age - Andy, Lanna, and Georgie Lyons from Malibu, CA.

  • it aint safer than my volvo! volvo concept was born from safety!

  • 1. Subaru has the most clever commercials. Bravo to their advertising department

    2. The older girl looks like Miranda Cosgrove

  • Do u know why this comercial is True, because I'm driving around a 99' Legacy with barely 100k on it. unfortionately I'd never trust a precious subaru in the hands of a noob teen driver.

  • @Sarstan The commercial simply shows a dad telling his daugther to be careful, which shows his love. Didn't your daddy love you as much?

  • This is actually a really really fancy car. I rode in one today and it was better than my mom's BMW 5 Series!

  • I love this commercial!

  • @jendamian1 Me too!

  • Everything about this commercial is great except for the very last word, and then it all collapses when you say wtf does it being a Subaru have to do with anything?

  • @ballasog Um, Subaru's have a good safety record?

  • the olde girl is hot lol.

  • great commercial!

  • "We knew this day would come. That's why we bought a Subaru".

Am I the only one that is wondering why he would buy a NEW Subaru for his teenage daughter to drive? It seems like you would get her some crap car to drive, not the newest car possible.

  • @Dartht33bagger You're totally illogical. First, he never said that he bought the car for her; he only said "that's why we bought a Subaru". I had the impression that it was a family car that she would be driving. Second, even if he was planning to buy a car for his daughter to drive, why would he buy her a "crap car"? Oh, let me guess, you've never been a father who has a teenage daughter. No loving father would want his precious daughter to be driving a "crap car".

  • @coolram1952 Because teenage drivers usually suck so why would you want to put your new car up on the chopping block?

  • @Dartht33bagger Not all teens are bad drivers you old fart

  • @blackjack779 I'm 18.

  • This commercial made me cry.

  • daddy okayyy...SOUNDS SO REAL! LOL

  • he must have some good genes, his daughter is F*****g gorgeous

  • This is how I talk to my girlfriend when she is about to drive; she recently scratched her car. lol

  • Similar scene to the one in "Father of the Bride". Father sees the grown-up daughter as a little girl. Very touching. It's supposed to make you cry. They are selling you on emotion, not features, price or quality.

  • @AAI6718 yeah! so what? It's awesome!

  • Love the part when she sticks her tounge out getting the keys....lmao....Great commercial..

  • Sounds more like a lack of trust than love.

  • did any1 else notice her shirt turned blue??

  • Subaru hits a home run with this spot! Well done.

  • @AllThatMakesUsHuman4 found out its Lanna Lyons

  • Who is the older girl? She's soooo perfect!

  • Adorable commercial. Made me understand that my parents still see me as a little kid no matter how old I get.

  • The best father-daughter commercial everrr!!!! Thanx Subaru!!! I guess im getting a subaru! Lol

  • It's like Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlise.

  • @HypocrisySucksBalls Ha Ha I just heard that song this morning funny....

  • o man i want the older daughter numbers

  • This is the best commercial on tv. Whoever thought of making this did a great job. The only commercial that makes any sense. Great Job. None Better. That little girl is a real cutie

  • i love how the shirt on the lil girl is red but on the big girl its blue lol cute comercial though

  • @3HTOWNBALLA - Good point. the reason they change the color of the shirt is to establish the fact that the father was not having illusions and mental problems, that in fact he was seeing his daughter in 2 separate time frames accentuated by 2 different appearances and clothing, albeit similar.

  • This really should take the award for cutest commercial ever.

  • @EdisonCollector

    Agreed ^^

  • I like this commercial except for the break in the fourth wall... is there an inside joke the audience is suppose to get? I don't get it, why does she look at the camera?!!?!?!

  • Seriously, this commercial is too adorable! It almost made me cry!

  • Girls are so cute when they are little like that but they always grow up to be obnoxious like those little bitches on Teen Mom or Jersey Shore.

  • Delightful commercial. I've discussed its meaning with my 10 year old grandson. I see my daughter like this whenever she is near. All the ages morph together and always wonder if others have this reaction. Very touching and emotional. I'm too old to buy the car, but I completely love the father-daughter connection. Peace, love and happiness, Ellen Kimball

  • Dad's HOT!!!

  • Ugh, I hate this commercial!!! Its too cute for even a guy like me :D (BTW, I totally love this commercial, lol)

  • The older daughter looks likes miranda cosgrove from icarly

  • I wouldnt be able to say goodbye without crying, if that was my only daughter i would never want her to leave...

  • who is the older girl??

  • "daddy okaa.." Soooo cute.

  • I absolutely love this commercial, I like to see great fathers with their daughters. I love the fact that Subaru commercials are so well thought out and the fact that they're personal.

  • Subaru: a car worth totaling!

  • forget the daughter, the dad is HOT

  • @imanacer right?! his name is andy lyons & he's a SURFER in malibu. no shit. the man is sex on a longboard. lol.

btw, both girls are his real daughters.

  • was the older daughter in a jeans commercial for gap or something not too long ago?

  • THE OLDER DAUGHTER WENT TO THE MAGNUM P.I. ACTING SCHOOL. LOL LOVE THE GRIN TO THE CAMERA AS SHE TURNS HER HEAD TO BACK UP.

  • If the older daughter is not a model, she sure as heck should be. I'm in love!

  • Love this commercial ^_^ But I always forgot which car company it was immediately after it ended, and I didn't feel like Googling combinations of "car commercial little girl grown up" until I hit the jackpot. Finally this time I remembered, lol.

  • I said all of those EXACT WORDS to both of my daughters the first time they left the driveway. LOL!

  • 3 words i havent seen in any of the comments yet.......she..is..hot....(the older girl)

  • Subaru Fact. Both of the girls in this commercial are actually his real daughters. How cool is that?

  • @anthonytorelli I love this commercial. The litttle girl is so cute and the older girl is a beauty. I think it's more like granddaughter and daughter.

  • @MrPappitoes According to Subara and my son who workes for the company, both girls are his daughters.

  • so anyone notice "alison" at :20 :).

  • the girl at :20 seconds looks like sahsa pieterse (alison) from pretty little liars!!

  • Damn she be slammin

  • I'd buy the car...if Miranda Cosgrove came with it!

  • @ASG89V2 obiously you have no kids.

  • @ickabodaikin this isnt about family, is about a car commercial that tries to get everyones attention by having a theme most people can compare themselves with, the commercial itself has almost nothing to do with the theme , i swear every commercial that tries this theme always has the same song at the end, at least they should try to talk about the car to make us want to buy it.

  • @ASG89V2 I agree totally with your comment. But, as we all know, that IS what makes a good commercial for the advertisers.

  • @ASG89V2

Well, they've got to appeal to the customer base that has no idea what a turbo-charged 300 horse power V8 engine is or aren't going to be driving their cars like ATVs over rocky terrain. You could say something like this about every commercial ever because the point of commercials is to appeal to people and get their attention, so they'll buy their stuff, or make them aware or something. If they didn't they'd be called "micro TV episodes."

  • @hamstergirl591 but most of the other commercials at least has something to do with the product, but this one just says " that's why i bought a Subaru", thats the most creative thing these people can come up with? also that one commercial with hamsters, wasting a bunch of money on CGI and the commercial having nothing to do with the car, I hate commercials, almost 1/3 of a half hour show is commercials, is pathetic how all those money hungry corporates fill us with advertisements

  • @ASG89V2

I personally think it's pretty creative, or if not at least does its job of appealing to a customer base. It won't make me buy a Subaru 'cause I love me some Toyota, but it still makes me go "d'awww" and portrays a Subaru as a car you can feel safe putting your new-driver children in.

Haha I'm glad you brought Kia up, because I know that commercial has done its job at least once. My best friend bought a Soul just because of the hamster commercials.

  • @ASG89V2

Sorry to be writing so much that's not really related to the commercial for anyone it offends, but I also wanted to say that while commercials aren't the best part of TV (Super Bowl fans may disagree but I don't watch that thing anyway) they also keep us from having to pay thousands of dollars a month for TV service. And they also mean you can take a restroom break or make yourself some food :)

  • @hamstergirl591 for me, commercials feel more like a timer to remind lazy people that is time to get up and do something else, and most of them don't make any sense. Commercials in the Super Bowl are pathetic, many people remember the Super Bowl more for it's commercials than the actual teams that played it, advertisers pay a million dollars just for a 30 second video that makes no sense, so much many wasted on trying to get people to buy their products. same with Times Square

  • @ASG89V2

Super Bowl time's a little different because it's more of a contest than advertising. It's ridiculous that it costs millions for a 30-second commercial though. But networks don't just throw them at us because they can, they do it because companies pay the networks for commercial time. Companies make money through product awareness, and network and billboard companies get money from the companies. Otherwise they couldn't do anything or would have to charge us.

  • I want him to be my daddy....DAMN HE'S HOT

  • She looks like iCarly

  • who's dat chick at 0:19

  • i think the teen in this vid is Portia Doubleday

  • MIRANDA COSGROVE!!!!

  • Watching this video make me think so much about my daughter Jocelyn! Morusita I love you so much! Dad :)

  • Why on earth would anyone think that the father should be picturing his little girl in the clothing of his teenager??? He would picture her as he remembers her!! Having the same clothing would just be stupid!

  • @55whiteoak lol mad funny

  • Am I dreaming, or is there a 60-second version of this one we've seen too...?

  • that girl is s0o0o0o hot

  • who is the teen

  • That girl looks like a young Michelle Williams.

  • awwwwwwwwww

  • my parents told me she reminded them of me..... growing up fast ): haha

  • I have a 2mos girl and this just made my day

  • I love this! The little girl is so sweet.

  • Why isn't the guy like 60 years old lol

  • @GreenDayRulez, yes thats exactly what i thought

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Did anyone notice that she looks like a blond Miranda Cosgrove

  • @GreenDayRulez Wow your right I did not think of that but ya she does

  • Im a 16 year old driver and looking at this ad just amazes me how much ive grown :)

  • Yes, the way the little girl says daddy okay is priceless. Great commercial.

  • Isn't she allison from pretty little liars??

  • anyone else notice he says leave your phone and purse at 0:10 but later hes says call me but not while your driving at 0:20 hmm

  • @knightassassin12 he said leave your phone IN your purse i dont want you teting whle driving a

  • anyone else notice he says leave your phone and purse but later hes says call me but not while your driving hmm

  • @knightassassin12 He says while he is looking down referring to leaving the phone in the purse on the passenger's seat.

  • lol, I love the look on her face when she takes the keys from him.

  • @lloyddobblerNJ Yep, the little girl, the actress, actually thinks she will get to drive, looks like to me!

  • I love this commecial!!

  • Simple, beautiful, and powerful

  • One of the many reasons I convinced my mom to buy a Subaru.

  • I LOVE the direction, the production shots, and the way she shakes her head and pulls the seatbelt around her knees, ALL incredibly realistic. THIS is my all-time favorite commercial. Wish I could afford a Subaru; I would buy one just because of this commercial.

  • I have always loved this commercial. This child is beyond adorable.

  • WHO IS THE MODEL THAT DRIVES THE CAR AWAY?!?!

  • Why are people whining about the fact this is a State Farm ad rip-off...I have never seen a State Farm ad like this.

  • First, buy her a chastity belt with an impregnable lock. Then get her an agent & manager so she can take advantage of the publicity surrounding this commercial. It's almost too late. She should have made at least one movie by now, if not been on a TV show. Don't let happen to her like what happened to Allison Stokke. Don't be stupid.

  • daddy okay!!!! lol

  • Shameless ripoff of the State Farm spot.

  • This one is my favourite :)

  • I don't think the little girl in the beginning is a baby...I think she's a little bit older...

  • Daddy okaaaaay!!!

  • This commercial always chokes me up. Just saw it on TV again. I have a 3 year old, and I would take 10 bullets for her. Even though it's an advertisment, this is so sweet and so true -- I have a 9 year old son. I tend to tell him "Just deal with it" or "it'll be alright" but it's so much different with a little girl. This commercial always makes me cry. It's a dad's worst nightmare. I don't know how I'll handle it. My wife is in the military too so I am Mr. Mom, even worse =/

  • This commercial is a total rip off of a State Farm commercial from a few years ago titled "Growing Up." Praise them. They're the ones with the originality.

  • I think I just set a record in how fast I teared up. It took just the middle 10 seconds of this commercial.

  • I am Also a " Dad " of 3 young ladies and " Yes" strangely tears do well up in my eyes! Great commercial but we bought a Ford before we saw the commercial! KUDOS!

  • LOL

  • whats the name of the song? i seriously cant find it anywhere
