Very cool, I imagine a good coat of paint may be in order for long term protection from rust. Polyisocyanurate or (polyiso insulation) is THE best for this application, second only to fiberglass as extruded polystyrene can melt above 180 degrees F.

You really made me think; I am not sure if the less-space occupying batch heater is a better alternative for hot countries as Mexico.
I like your design; it looks simple and low-cost to purchase, though efficient for its purpose, which is domestic hot water use I suppose.
