@raffman187 Easier said then done, this is caused by a birth defect and there is a good chance the child can die. If it was as simple as putting back in the chest they would do it ASAP. If I remeber correctly the condition is called Ectopia cordis. If a million babies are born only about four will have the condition it is a very rare happening. Should the baby survive the first few hours, or shoot the first day they still face many difficulties, and surgeries.

Most children born with there heart outside there chest don't survive till the surgery. Its because there's a hole in their chest (entry point for bacteria and germs ect.) and it causes an infection, which for a new born child is nearly impossible to overcome.

Round a hospital in London said they would help me, & they did, my daughter was born by a planned c/section, she lived 4 a week. Am so glad I give her a chance of life, other wise I'd never of known weather she would hav lived or die & I hav peace of mind for doin al I could do! I wouldn't change it my daughter give me memories that I will hav for life & she gave the doc's time til learn about this rare heart condition, which could save another Childs life!!!
