  • The studio dances intertwined with Graham's philosophizing are wonderful. As is the music. This is available on DVD.

  • @dchiapello

Yes, it's from this DVD: "Martha Graham - An American Original in Performance"

  • what a master

  • I have never heard of this woman befor today and i just love her words of wisdom and how much they mean to me.

  • She's so wonderfully inspiring.

  • I wish I had her for theatre and dance!

  • I love the look at 1:07!

  • what year was this?

  • @lalagurl2018 What year was this?

It was 1961. At the time, Martha Graham was 68. Afterwards, she went out to dance as Jocasta in Night Journey.

  • Such discipline and amazing talent. A true dancer at heart.

  • Thank you for sharing this. It is absolutely wondeful.

  • Her voice is intoxicating. So gentle and commanding too.

  • The very definition of a Monstre Sacré.

  • She is total gorgeousness

  • Thank you for posting!

  • DIVINA!!!

  • An amazing woman....absolutely brilliant footage to see and hear.

  • This never gets old. Funny, horrible and brilliant all at once.

  • Notice how theatrical she could be while just talking to a camera. I wonder if she could turn routine exercises into a real performance. (I think I know the answer.)

  • Goodness she is soooooo wise !!!

  • this cracks me up every time i see it....so fabulous

  • she is so fantastic!

  • Martha was such a personality. Her work lives on!
