  • this song makes me want to dance in the middle of a large field as the sunsets in tribal clothing with a large group of people. Clapping and beating drums along with the song. That would be awesome.

  • Caralho! Florence and the Machine é gótica, é uma mistura de blues e cantora lírica, é ótima.

  • I don't think that Natasha has more talent than Florence or Florence have more than Natasha, these two beautiful women has a lot of talent and we can't be compared simply because their music styles are different. For me these two women are the best (:

  • Yet I'm guessing as soon as she gets mainstream you'll complain she's sold out, right? That's what most people seem to do.

  • @MissLadyMoose89 so true, people are such idiots sometimes. I hope natasha releases her new album soon. Been tooooo long..:D

  • I dont think she sounds like any other artist, I think her influnces and life has created this beautiful music

  • I'm getting more Imogen Heap than Bjork or Florence and the Machine but still good company for her to be keeping i think.

  • @Bluebuthappy182 me too, yet Imogen heap is also very different...maybe Bat fo lashes is a bit like Kate Bush from her album "hounds of Love"?

  • A constant reminder to the heinous mistake I made.

  • hipnotyzujące

  • great song to bellydance to =)

  • I love her style,so dream like.Shes so talented and beautiful

  • shes a cool chick, good singer and a bit quirky

  • i want the instrumental

  • this is so sexy

  • Breathtaking. I'm highly impressed with Bat For Lashes, even tho' I've been into her music since her first album came out. But every time I listen to her music I'm thrilled no matter how many times I play her songs. They bring such a special aura, that's what I call art.

  • @cultmountain

    Verily.

  • Enough with the stupid comparing, appreciate music for what it is, all artists have a right to their own style and vocals, they are no less nor more, simply someone else.

  • nobody has to be compared. every artist is unique in her own right and that is why we love them.

  • if you have some kickass headphones, this song is dope

  • lol at people comparing Natasha and Florence. Honestly guys, do you live in some parallel dimension where you can't like both? You must have travelled to a bizarre universe populated by moody music snobs and ruled by the Sacred Church of Hipsterdom! Maybe that's the "two planets" she's referring to.

By the way, this is my favourite song on Two Suns. Should have been the album closer.

  • <3

    beautiful *

  • Okay, nevermind, hahaha.

It's just Natasha sounding remarkably like Audrey Hepburn.

  • What is the speaking part from at the very beginning?

I'm 99.9% sure it's Audrey Hepburn speaking, but I can't figure out what it's from.

  • Bat For Lashes' songs are just amazing! And I just love this one!!

  • The emotions this song puts forth, the energy of it, the words, and the magic, is strong and amazing for words. Like a feeling so overcoming me I feel tears in my eyes, but I am not sad, but in awe. I get taken to another world.

  • she`s a scorpion, just like bjork, that's way they have so much in comun

  • i happen to love florence just as much as bat for lashes. they are both talented women. and i am actually pissed that florence is going main stream. anyways stop hating on florence she is just as amazing than bat for lashes.

notice i didn't say florence was better ;)

  • Drumming is ace

  • I love Bat for lashes.... A good mix of many styles and voices. A good student of greatest por/rock female singers of the 80's and 90's like: Kate Bush, Toris Amos, Cocteau Twins,

  • Most EPIC song of the Two Suns album. <333

  • i like the song but wat does she sai right in the beginnig?

  • Wow. The opening was just...wow.

  • I love this song,it's so weird and corky,it's awesome, and the lyrics are phenomenial

  • reminds me of bjork! love it!

  • If you watch the interviews this band is very much into medeival instruments. I am sure the tribal-esque percs are merely an extension of that interest.

  • SUCH AN AMAZING SONG!

  • This song is more Cocorosie than it is Bjork people :/ and even then, its still not very Coco. A woman singing long sweeping melody with tribal and electronic sounds does not automatically equal Bjork.

  • Very Cocorosie, I agree

  • who watches equals 3?

  • Yes this song reminds of Bjork's "Human Behavior". I mean I can even see as completing it. Meaning and all.

  • I honestly don't think she sounds anything like bjork...the style might be a little similar in some of her songs in this album, but umm...sucks to be compared or confused for another artist, hope she gets more recognition :)

  • omg i have lady gaga headphones it sounds like someone is tapping in my ear!!! TRIPPPY

  • @aliskisskiss78 Hahaha

  • @noxmusiq It doesn't suck to be compared to another artist if that other artist is Bjork. That woman's a genius! lol

  • same happens to me ! if i wouldnt know that is bat for lashes the one who si singing i would think is bjork

  • who the heck is bjork? can somebody please replay?

  • you must be kidding....

  • Look her up on youtube

musical artist with a similar sound, though a little weirder I must admit

  • aquamarine820: Bjork is one of the greatest artists of all time!! Look her up & your life will never be the same. I know mine isn't. :)

  • whats the best song she's got?

  • start with "All is Full of love" .

Then check out Pagan Poetry and Bachelorette

  • @aquamarine820, 'Missing Time', live at Rennes, and 'what's a girl to do'.

  • i don't know. x

  • @aquamarine820 Check out "Declare Independence" by Bjork. Or most anything by Kate Bush if you like Bat for Lashes.

  • kind of björkish. love it!

  • Such a haunting voice...superb

  • ....so much pleasure.......

  • love this song, reminds my of Bjork :D

  • me too lol

  • all this florence and machine hype makes me sick, yes she can sing and she is good but natasha is so much more talented and has been around a heck of a lot longer but the radio got a hold of florence and the more talented vocalist goes without any mainstream credit but maybe that is a blessing.

  • it probably is a blessing!! although I love florence I know that she will eventually burn out like all mainstream stars. I'll have to endure her long after she's lost her talent. whereas the lesser known gems arent pushed by the pressures of public standards and can work at their own pace...never losing steam =]

  • @redcommando1 i love florence, but i think you are right, she has too much hype, and natasha would be in her position in a perfect world

  • *sigh*Will people ever stop bringing up these comparisons noone asked for? Florence and Natasha use similar intruments but beside that their styles are very different. If you're frustrated because you think Bat for Lashes receives less attention than Florence, blame it on marketing and not on the artist who never did anything to you. And FYI, I discovered Bat for Lashes because I'm a Florence fan and lastfm recommended BfL in her similar artists and now I have her two albums. Keep moaning.

  • @redcommando1

I completely agree.Florence has two good songs.

  • @redcommando1 Can we stop comparing artists to each other? THAT'S what makes me "sick". Obviously it's unfortunate talented artists like this don't get the same public recognition as others do, but that doesn't give you an invite to rip on everyone else because your personal artist isn't there yet. That's NOT Florence's fault, or maybe even anyone's fault. The important thing is that you like the artist, it's not about whether or not everyone else does.

  • @redcommando1 Natasha is also much more varying than florence that sings about the same stuff all the time.

  • @redcommando1 I love both artists. They both have very, very different types of voices. Natasha's is very ethereal and mysterious, which most people usually do not like. Florence's voice is very strong and much easier for the average listener to appreciate. i dont really know how else to say it

  • her music does feel very fresh, especially compared to the other "querky" solo female artists out there now... and the fact she writes and composes the music herslef makes it all the more credible :)

  • I don't know... I really appreciate that her songs are totally written and composed by herself. A really, really rare thing between her contemporary other singers, she's genuine. But actually I find her songs a bit boring, a bit too similar each other.

Maybe, with time, I will change my mind... But being used to Bjork's multiform music(s), it will be hard for me...

    Anyhow, I like this song.

  • bjork is a fan of hers and has been to some of her concerts :P

  • Comment removed

  • that being said, you might not like that song... a lot of bjork's songs are pretty unlistenable to some fans, and others love it, you should probably start off with "all is full of love", or "unravel"... then make your way through her singles.

  • well, bachelorette is my favourite. :)

  • who doesn't love atleast 1 bjork song :D

  • so bjork...

but this would be a bjork hit not a miss.

  • boom bada bang )

  • beautiful

  • she is devine

  • goldfrappp are close to kate bush too. i love this.

  • i love her music. shes so different (:

  • Just bought this album and i'm gettin' wet waitin on it gettin' delivered! MMmmmm! Ver nice! Poosy Swaay!

  • saw her perform at O2 empire just inspiring and cool to see her bounce around stage singing so great. BFL rock to say the least.

best album this year by far- i hope she gets nominated for a Brit next year!

  • I've heard of a lot of people comparing her to Bjork, and I can see why in this song. Beautiful.

  • the fucking best! love it!

  • A bit of a geek thing here but as everyine is comparing her to Kate Bush I'd just like to direct you all to her 'Song of Solomon', think clever old Bats gives her a nod in this song. Bats is definitely the closest anyone has come to being a pretender to the Bush crown and that is saying a lot. Keep it up, Lashes.

  • pretender? think they do it best tbh. old isn't always better man. blow for blow, lashes got it on point, debatable.

  • I think that's a heavily opinionated statement on both your ends :P

Both artists are extremely unique and very difficult to compare to any other artists as a result. We're not comparing apples to apples here. Just fruits to fruits :)

I appreciate both artists for what they are.

  • ...I think you meant 'contender,' not 'pretender'

  • 2nd the best release this year. Obviously after "MPP" made by Animal Collective. Go, Bat!

  • *sighs contently* such a lovely song...

  • woooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • beautiful music, like a ritual of conspiration thanks PurpleSpiderwebs (the most original nickname on youtube)
