saw him at the Tower Theater in Philly back in the day....he was unf@#cking believable. It gave me an idea of what it must have been like to see Hendrix.
Say what you must about Robin, but remeber, he was doing this back when most of these modern day wanna-be's were still pooping yellow in their diapers. No one plays like Robin anymore, and he is STILL doing it dudes and dudettes !
You know what''s really great about him aside from his obvious talent? He pays homage and acknowledges where he got the inspiration for alot of his music. In this video he mentions BB, James Brown, Hendrix, etc. He's a real gentleman, as well as an awesome guitarist/songwriter.
He got cut off when he was giving his best advice, Sometimes the best advice is given in words. And his right, forget about playing for others and playing what you think others would think are cool or what you think is great froma technical point of view eg. playing "flash" and "fast". Just play what sounds good, if parts come out flash and fast so be it then... And anyway fast sounds better when you play slower for most of the time, it builds a climax and a story...
@picajoool Bridge of Sighs is one of the most known songs by RT. That what he plays here is variation of this song and contains elements of Bridge of Sighs.
This is quality!!

If you lived the 60's,
