It's really odd to me how Vodka has always looked like such a great champion when she's raced in Japan. Yet she's always looked a very average horse, at best, when she's gone to Dubai to race? Always thought Vodka would fare better in Dubai than she ever did given the talent she had.
I was pulling very hard for Conduit to win this race. Everyone knew it was going to be Conduit's final race before going to stud. He had just won his second G1 BC Turf at Santa Anita prior to coming over to Japan for the G1 Japan Cup. He'd been such a great turf champion in Europe and in America that I was hoping to see him go out on a high note. Turns out that Conduit's 4th place finish in this race was the best finish for a European horse in the past 2 running's of the race.
I thing I'll better watch the MOVIE of Secretariat.. Don't get excite anymore with the TRIPLE CROWN. The kentucky derby winner is not even run good in Preakness. The winner in Belmont the Time is to SLOW.. When we gonna see again a good Horse like SECRETARIAT or PHAR LAP.

I say let's get Vodka, Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, Dar Re Mi, Goldikova, Ventura, and Informed Decision, put them on an agreed surface at 1-1/4, and let the best filly/mare win. Wouldn't that be a great race?
That would truly be a race, but do you think that Ventura could go a mile and a fourth? Watch She Be Wild in the future, she looks like she's going to be the one to beat.

The Japanese excel at everything they do!
Would love to spend an afternoon at this track for the Japan Cup. What an experience, that would be. Oh, maybe one day ??

Great race well done to Vodka, i rekon if Conduit had more time to recover from his breeders cup win he could of won this our gone very close.

My mates and I watched the running of the Japan Cup at the Full Moon in Sandgate, Brisbane and we were all over Oken Bruce Lee like white on rice!
He hasn't been beaten a nose, he hasn't been beated a nostrill, he has been beaten by a piece of snot! Or perhaps a nip of Vodka!
