  • Cool Dakota! Did you set back the 440 engine when you mounted it?

Is it hard to get the back tires to hook up?

  • i have a 95 4x4 with a v6 and glass pack that sounds like that

  • Nice I'm puttin a 440 in my 98 Dakota Custom exhaust and a lot more stuff hope the cops don't mind the noise

  • those warlocks are sweet as hell did you get electronic cutouts on them or just wing nut'em? i got a 383 in my dak with two warlocks elec. cutouts , low stall converter traction bars and i put 9.11s in. runs like a raped ape only problem is driving in town... =/

  • sounds like a 318 or 5.2 magnum with a calibrated computer and a set of side pipes to me i think hes bullshittin about the 440 big block though even the 318 runs good too.

  • @quick89S10 your a dumbass, your just mad cause daddy wont buy you one lol

  • Should we tell them the truck is no more Kevin?

  • that damn truck sounds vicious!

is it a 440 big block or the 440 magnum small blocks now for sale?

A+ jusy for sound alone. plus, i like the bed cover how its integrated into the roll bars.

  • big block, sorry..i see it now

  • Amazing truck! I prefer your dakota much better than stock ram srt10, seriously.

  • @SuperBee84 the srt10 is a bunch of junk.

  • that is a cocky lookin dakota man nice truck i would smile everytime i held the keys the truck wouldnt even have to be around lol

  • That dak is so hot that when

I jerked off to this, my come came!

  • god damn!!! wish i could afford to do that to my dakota! is that a long bed?

  • Can I have it please!

  • absolutely F-ing SICK... I love it.. V6 sticker V8 under the hood,.. reminds me of old times... it sounds freeking awsome

  • that dakota is a true beast, good work

  • now if that doesn't make you hard as a rock nothing will.

  • it did

  • That is a mean machine, my friend.

  • Thank you. I hope to make it a little "meaner" this Spring/Summer. Have you seen the vid from the drag strip? 11.87 @ 115.

  • no vids but how much did you spend on parts

  • I paid 900 for the truck of eBay and msot fo the parts are left overs from the what I had in the Cuda. {The vid of the Cuda with the blower at the strip}. BUT, I totalled it all up last year and I have roughly 12,000 into it.

  • so you have at least 10 in the motor and it runs high 11's?

  • Wherer do you see that I have 10 in the motor? I have "maybe" $6000 in the motor. Don't forget the trans, stall converter rear end, gears, wheels, tires, interior, 8 pt cage etc etc..

  • I havent done much research into it, but I've got an 89 Dakota 4WD, Do you need much modification to fit a 440 into one of these?

  • iirc, there are a couple of vidz here on YouTube with a 4x4 and a big block. I'd do a search and ask that person how he did his. I know that the one guy is doing a big smokey burnout.

  • 77 dodge warlock 3300 pounds stock 440 727 trans and 3.55 gears with 10 inch tiers

  • I like those Warlocks. I'd take one of them over a LRE.. My 440 is 10.8:1 comp, milled ported E-heads 4000 stall PTC and 4.10s Good luck with yours. Do you have any vid?

  • get a life

  • Like yours I suppose?!!!

  • nice truck im ganna have the exect set up what does it run at the track.

  • Best so far is an 11.87 at 115. Thanks fer the compliment. What is your "exact" set up?

  • Does the 440 sit the same as the 400 or does the oil pan pose a difference cause I have a 400 in my Dakota and want to drop a 440 in?

  • I think the mount bosses are the same on the 383,400 and 440. I know that you would have header concerns as the 383-400 have a shorter deck height than the 440..

  • With the kit from MagnumHP, the passenger side head will be about 3/4" from the firewall. I notched a chunk out of my crossmember to clear the oil pan, but GregZ from Magnum, did work to his oil pan. All I had to do was make a longer pickup tube and screen assembly. The radiator that I used is a Summit 2 core aluminum. It fits nicely into the rad support of the Dak. I had to make some mounting hardware for it. I used Hooker Super Comp fenderwell exit headers that my friend had in his '70 Dart.

  • Awesome, great work. Im thinking bout doing the same thing to my dak. did it just drop in with the swap kit? any firewall pounding needed to be done? rad mounting? the left exhaust manifold cleared the steering arm??

  • Any Advice for a V8 conversion for my 1988 dakota 5spd 4x4? And keeping 4x4? Nice Truck

  • I'm not sure how to do a 4x4. I know the Schumacher swap kit mounts the motor higher in the engine comparment. I used the kit from MagnumHP.. His kit sets the motor down low and back further.

  • specs on the 440? Sounds great, whats the cam?

  • Its a '77 block bored .030. I have SRP 11:1 flat tops with Manley Sportsman rods. The '70 crank is turned down .010/.010 cuz I added new Pro-Gram amin caps. The cam is a custom grind solid Comp with a .585 lift. I have milled and ported {to their max} aluminum Edelbrock heads. They went from 84cc cambers down to 76's,iirc. I run a Victor 440 intake thats been matched to the heads and top it with a Holley 850dp, soon to be changed. The headers are '70 Dart fenderwell exits.

  • ur so COOL! :D

i was naked while I watched this video! HT

  • Got a vid of your 11 second street truck?? Get dressed and make one..

  • thats a pretty heavy truck, i wonder how it runs at the track

  • Stay tuned, plum; I hear there's a very recent vid with some of that info on it.

  • plum, you can now see its latest history on my channel, for the moment.

  • sharp ride!

  • i know the dakota has some room under the hood. was there a lot of work that needed done to put in 440

  • u can bore it out

  • I cut a notch in the crossmember toi clear the rear sump oil pan from a late '70's big block truck application. GregZ from MagnumHP re worked the oil pan on his.

  • Sweet man .. i got an 87 daktoa tubbed just setting in the garage . not sure what engine to put in it 340 or the 440. both would be great.

  • super jelouse.. i have always wanted to do up a early dakota

  • ever think about jackin that bitch up mine has the 3.9 in it and it turns my 38's pretty nice it walks almost every where i bring it

  • Damn nice Dakota, man!! Sure would like to see some burnout vids....

    Be safe...

  • That's good stuff

  • sweet!!!, ur a f***in mad man, mopar all the way

  • I hope to see how fast it really is within the next few weeks

  • how is that 8 3/4 holdin up?

  • I'll find out more soon. I feel confident with it. But I'll have to upgrade the axles depending on the et's.

  • fire it up lets see it run

  • It's still on jackstands ,hibernating.

  • still 6 lug??

  • 5's. Front and back. 1st Gen rotor swap and the rear is a '68 Charger.

  • The best Dakota generation.. good job.

  • Thanks. I had the 440 sitting and it needed a home..

  • Its about time that someone has put a big block in those older dakotas...way to go man!!

  • Thanks. There are actually ALOT out there, They're getting more and more popular. Only a few companies are buildiung the swap kits and I'd highly suggest MagnumHP.
