I change my mind, I do NOT want to be in a hurricane for the thrill of it. This is insane! One of the most intense things i have ever seen. Nicejob storm hunter! I definetely "like"
strangley everytime a hurricane hit me and the family would leave up north but this was the only one we stuck around for -_- i was 9 and the wind wasnt that bad where we lived but dude i was scared shitless cause of all the brodcast
i was in bay st louis mississippi for this storm no one can imagine what it was like the video is good and all but the sound of that wind will haunt me for my whole life the smells and the sights.
Im just glad someone knows it wasnt just New Orleans that was hurt by this storm
Katrina have weaken Category 3 hurricane 125 mph (205 km/h) when landfall on New Orleans. But it once was 280km/h (150 kts) Category 5 hurricane intensity in the middle part of mexico bay before.

J10ATP, Katrina never touched Mexico. Its lanfall was near Gulfport, Miss. not New Orleans, La. Winds were gusting over 125mph and the storm surge in Gulfport was ~25-feet or more.
Everyone is so focused on New Orleans, The eyewall made landfall on the tip of LA, and the coast of MS. The eye never went near New Orleans. MS had way worse destruction.
WHAT A WASTE OF ENERGY.. IN 2008 with all the tecnology that we have, we can't use all this wind power to our use and consume... and this is clean and free... we're a sad race...
this is deserving of the pulitzer prize without a doubt. i can't think of too many people who would willingly put their life on the line for this. just seeing that 2 minutes of footage makes one wonder how new orleans still didn't get completely wiped off the map. much kudos man!
Yeah, the howling you hear is the wind. It really doesn't convey what it actually sounds/felt like. There's another sound that feel rather than hear below the howl. It's kind of a bass rumble that you feel in your chest. That's when you know you're in somethign serious...
Wow. Can't imagine, and don't want to - you are waaay braver than me. Used to live north of N'Awlins - glad I live in North Central Texas, where the only things I have to dodge are twisters, lightning and bugs. LOL
really good video, can't believe it doesn't have more views. great sound too. thank you

It's horrible to imagine that the worst of the storm was still 10 miles to the west, at Waveland!
