"Said bless the farmer, the teacher and the preacher who gave this bible to my momma who read it to me." The hooker lived & became religious and read her son the blood stained Bible the preacher gave to her before he died in the crash. All the song is saying is no one but God knows why she didn't die too.

well a preacher is telling a story of how his mother survived a bus crash and no one else survived and his mother was the hooker

The fourth who survived was the hooker. It seems that receiving the Bible from the preacher, and perhaps what he said to her, got her onto a good path. So she experienced some kind of redemption, and now what she will leave behind when she passes will be positive. (If she had passed at the time of the wreck she wouldn't have left much behind her of value at all.) The twist of the song is that the hooker the preacher is talking about his own mother, who was redeemed.

i luv this song. it makes me sad tho... on 10.26.08 three of my good friends died in an accident. it fits the accident perfectly. the 3 crosses on the right side of the highway (except this happened on a road). and the other driver could have died and made it 4 crosses. i luv u dillon tyler and aj. i will never forget you!!!
