  • @soniagarg1585 my gawd can you speak english at the least? you speak like a chav, this is not sms

  • is it nt much similar to aloo chola chat

  • hi. i belong to a small town......i cnt get white peas here so plz let knw its alternative.can i us chik peas fr this

  • @soniagarg1585

If you can't find white peas, you can try only dried green peas. Using chickpeas will give you a completely different texture and flavor (it would be chole).

  • where do i find white peas? its not available in indian stores!

  • @Snowysharvary

You may have to try another Indian grocery store. Our's carries it.

  • @Snowysharvary this is kabuli chana (chick peas)

  • @duyus : They look similar but they are not. They are known as White Vatana or Whole Dried White Peas.

  • mouth watering :)

  • If you sprinkle lil Chaat masala just before serving, that gives unique tangy taste to all chaat items.

  • heyy...great recipe..tried it out yesterday & it turned out amazing...my husband who does not like ragda pattice too much..could not stop praising the ragda...thanks!!

  • hmm.. :) I'm gonna try this with some more chopped onions, sliced cucumber tomato & carrot, chilli & gonna give some lemon juice on top of it..... :)

    ----

you two are really gud... :)

  • Heyyy you forgot the sliced onions and chat masala sprinkle on the top!!

  • You guys are cute, and its good to see you guys having fun while doing it.

I remember as a kid going to Bombay and my mom LOVED ragda patties. Only thing that comes close to it are Pani puri (bombay) or jhal muri (Calcutta) or chops / cutlets (Calcutta).

The food is delicious, but I can't help reflecting on the low nutritional value of such foods. A typical meal for me has always had a huge hunk of lean meat and fresh veggies.

  • Add some chhole masala to this recipe towards the end. Makes a really tasty ragda.

  • @patelss1 : sounds good, will give it a shot :)

  • can i use green dried vatana instead of yellow vatana? pls reply..

  • @saaz1997: Yes...but green are a bit harder so you need to cook more.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry : Ohh ok Thank u ...:)

  • The Ladies are charming!

  • are "vattanna" and "ragda" tamil names?

  • @ocergnairb

They are common terms used in several regions in India, but we're not sure if they are used in the Tamil dictionary. Maybe some of our Tamil viewers can elaborate...

  • @ShowMeTheCurry : Most likely not Tamil dish. The tamil name for "vattana" is "pattani". Sounds similar.. So could be of common origin

  • can we use chick peas instead of vattanna...??plz reply

  • @marif8 : The vattanna has a very different texture and flavor compared to chick peas. You want the dish to have gravy...so chick peas are not a good substitute :(

  • thats warrior food YAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • that was very cute :)

  • hey

can you make a samosa chaat

i mean samosa substitute of pattice

  • @TheDino2714 yes, I have seen it on the menu of a couple of places. I tried it, ?& personally prefer Pattice. But that does not mean that samosa chaat is not good. Hey, it's food...eat it the way YOU enjoy it....have fun

  • oh yes its up to your taste

actully iam frm mumbai and there ragda pattice and samosa chaat both r common but personally i like samosa sabstitute of pattice

    yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @TheDino2714 Great...have fun...I used to live in Mumbai too, about 40 years ago...love the street food there, especially the pav-bhaji, baiza-pav & usal. Enjoy samosa chaat

yours so adorable lol, made me laugh hehe, and loved the fact u tasted it!!

  • Hanji, ye tho bohot aacha hain!

  • I like Hetals makeup. light color lipstick looks much better. and great job both of you

  • OMG, that looks scrumptious! The only thing I don't have is "sev." What is it, and would I be able to buy it at any Indian grocery store?

  • Sev is thin crispy little strands made from chickpea flour. Yes, it is available at most Indian grocery stores.

  • Not a Authentic taste....

  • Love it.. yummy!!!!

  • Oh, you are standing the other way around! Usually Hetal is on the left and Anuja is on the right!

    Anyway, that looks delicious!
