Hey merlin 1964, I think I was in Ft. Hood when One Way and SOS Band was there for the free concert, but I don't remember Starpoint, I was in Ft. Hood from 1982-85.

Is someone there who can help me find a song I think came out between 1981-1985? I would say the style is funk, r&b or disco. The text goes something like: "We gotta dance, just me and you, it´s so romantic, let´s see what we can do, we won´t be late, we gotta date tonight" But what´s the group and titles name? Please, someone must know..
yeah i'm a whiteboy too. i was jamming to this at fort hood texas. besides jamming to them i saw them in concert for free at fort hood. along with sos band and starpoint. i was prepping to this song at the clubs also. seriously. i'm from iowa, who would've thought of it, a whiteboy jamming to one way confunkshun, lakeside, the time, alexander o'neal, jesse johnson, oh by the 46 i do miss this type of music todays "r&b" sucks. can i get a witness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@therealmrmoneyshot ummm.............DJ Quick did not sample this. This was famously sampled by Too Short in his PROFANITY laced version that is over 8 minutes. Released sometime in the early nineties. Right era my brotha, but wrong artist. :)
@80s4ever63 You stand corrected. DJ Quik sampled this 2 times. Once on his album " Don't Eat It" from his album "Safe and Sound" and Suga Free's album "Don't Fight The Pimpin"
Forget about no transfat rules, laws and calories. This is the real old school, greasy, lowdown, come-wit-it-shit. 100,000 plus YouTube cruisers must have all saw the same "One Way" sign down funky street.

LOL! Some rapper from Cali. He didn't really do much. See if you can find some of his stuff on here. He was supposed to be a real pimp that got into the rap game. *Yawn*
@mrdawsonllc no prob at all. if u r black (or white or whateva and u feel groove) its more important to know One Way than Sugarfree (means chewing gums lol)
i heard from someone he used to be a pimp. is he still making music. when i have time i'll probably google him. whats the name of his songs. did he use his own music instead of sampling old school funk bands music. al hudson alicia myers kevin mccord his wife and the rest of one way was a cold band with many dance hits and slow jams that are still classics including don't fight the feeling.
@skyynett999 I barely know who sugar free is... I learned of him here on YouTube about three years ago. HE WAS A NO TALENT when it came to the rap game, but I'll bet he was one hell of a pimp though. lol There was only one song he did that I liked & that was "If you stay ready" the only reason that was kinda tight is because quick helped produce it.
