  • @therealmrmoneyshot ummm.............DJ Quick did not sample this. This was famously sampled by Too Short in his PROFANITY laced version that is over 8 minutes. Released sometime in the early nineties. Right era my brotha, but wrong artist. :)

  • @80s4ever63 You stand corrected. DJ Quik sampled this 2 times. Once on his album " Don't Eat It" from his album "Safe and Sound" and Suga Free's album "Don't Fight The Pimpin"

  • Actually it was TOO SHORT who sampled this with Fortay as guest,as a matter a fact that was the first trak i heard Fortay on

  • THIS SHIT IS SO FUNKY I COULD SMELL IT THROUGH MY SPEAKERS

  • Oh hell yeah! I'll see ya'll at the skatin' rink.

  • Forget about no transfat rules, laws and calories. This is the real old school, greasy, lowdown, come-wit-it-shit. 100,000 plus YouTube cruisers must have all saw the same "One Way" sign down funky street.

  • @Buckeyecat2002 I lived on the greatest oneway street in G.R. Mi, Watkins was the name of da street and we knew hoe to party only "OneWay."

  • Rappin Forte bit this beat because listen too its Funky...

  • @blackfrost8161 It's Rappin 4 tay to be correct and yes he did bite.I rather have 4 tay bite it then somebody that was from Cali rappin on it.

  • smooth original track! gracias

  • could you imagine pullin' up to the rink and not hearin' OneWay bumpin' from the inside?!!

  • U guys are funny!

  • Nothing now a day comes close to this kind of old skool jams. This is music you can jam to on a dance floor.

  • @nodis69 nah, I disagree there are better ones. if this song spun on the turntable, I'd be running off to get me some new drink...:P

  • Don't forget that Quik used this beat on "Don't Want To Eat It"...

  • This really was this shizzzznit !!!

  • This rapper who was down with DJ Quik

  • LOL! Some rapper from Cali. He didn't really do much. See if you can find some of his stuff on here. He was supposed to be a real pimp that got into the rap game. *Yawn*

  • @mrdawsonllc Who is suga free? U better not be black asking that question.

  • yes i'm black and i never heard of suga free.

  • @mrdawsonllc no prob at all. if u r black (or white or whateva and u feel groove) its more important to know One Way than Sugarfree (means chewing gums lol)

  • have you learn who suga free is yet....?

  • i heard from someone he used to be a pimp. is he still making music. when i have time i'll probably google him. whats the name of his songs. did he use his own music instead of sampling old school funk bands music. al hudson alicia myers kevin mccord his wife and the rest of one way was a cold band with many dance hits and slow jams that are still classics including don't fight the feeling.

  • @skyynett999 I barely know who sugar free is... I learned of him here on YouTube about three years ago. HE WAS A NO TALENT when it came to the rap game, but I'll bet he was one hell of a pimp though. lol There was only one song he did that I liked & that was "If you stay ready" the only reason that was kinda tight is because quick helped produce it.

  • @skyynett999 is it the lead singer of that group?

  • This is Kevin McCord playin Bass on this joint right.

  • this song is tight!!! Bass guitarist is no joke!!!!

  • anyone know where to find a bass tab of this song????

  • "Do what yo soul say do...don't fight it!" y'all youngins don't know nothin about this here...

  • LMAO

  • sure we do asshole sugafree the pimp refreshed it to don't fight the pimpin

  • @slynnmiller Sweet! We had the reverse experience. I am a biracial person from the West Coast (and a fan of all the music your referenced). I spent 2 years in Iowa City and loved it. This funk is transcontinental.

    dutch oldschool

  • Damn Suga Free is rapping with this track

  • i am glad i was a teen when old school was, well new. i had the privelege of seeing all of them in their primes in concert rick james, lakeside roger and zapp, bar-kays, gap band etc.... they were all great and i have seen many concerts of all genres rock, jazz, pop,but old school groups had it goin on and one way was one of the cream of the crop!!! they definitly deserved better recognition and old school deserved music videos. it is a shame. they would be legendary.

  • GOT DAMN! How Funky Can It Get...They dont make music like this no mo.

  • Low rider FONK!!!

  • this is the kind of music that has led to many old and new to become successful. some of the new artists don't realize what was put into making this kind of music. I personally would like to say without this there would not be any other music made because certain artists have no creative minds and when it comes to giving thanks or acknowledging the artists there is no respect. I love this music being that i grew up on this back in the day I'm a old school person from the late 60's L2whpvtheway

  • That shit is soo funky! From the boards to the bass. Music like this paved the way for a lot of the artist we here now.

  • even new schoolers have like this bad ass baseline!! I'm breakdancing as we speak..yeah!
