don't buy this I just got the ipod touch version and it messed up the volume and the sound quality plus you can't hear the sound because it plugs into the headphone jack.

does this case affect the actual battery of the actual iphone? cuz i remember ipod sellers telling me a long time ago that you shouldnt recharge your ipod through car batteries and other things like that because it kinda screws up the battery (makes its life span shorter)

I'm actually having problems with this thing. I just bought it and was totally psyked.

Thing charges the phone when it's by itself without being connected. But once it's connected via usb..it doesn't want to charge anything but the Mophie..

I've tried fucking with the little switch and nothing seems to work.

lol, me again...sorry, i got the case and when i got it out of the box it had full charge, when i checked it later, my phone went from 4% to 23%..... and the case was out, is that normal for the first time after opening?

Usually, yes. In the instructions, I think it said to fully charge it before your first use. So I'd just fully charge it and it should be fine after that

never tried the incase power slider, but from what i've heard, it's better since the battery can be turned off when not needed, which isn't the case on the power slider

i also heard with the incase powerslider that when you talk it kind of muffles the mic or either the person at the other end hears a weird noise

While it's charging, the lights will blink. Once they all are lit up and stopped blinking, it's fully charged.

the battery in the iPhone 3g is 1400 mAh(correct me if i'm wrong) and the battery in the juce pack air is 1200 mAh so it wil never be able to charge it fully

jherzenb, you are not the only one with Mophie cracking problems. Tech guy Leo Laporte just twittered today from China that HIS Mophie has cracked too. Also, a few weeks prior on one of Leo's shows, Scott Bourne said HIS Mophie also cracked. Sounds like a MAJOR mfg. problem to me.

You mention that it only charges the iPod to 80%. How do you know this?

Well, it's an approximate. I've experienced it not charging fully. When it gets down to the end, the charge will go on and off, so you get the "Plugged in" sound over and over...and by looking at it, it seems to be about 80-90%, but not full.

But it's pretty secure, but can be taken off without much hassle

It's a lot thinner than a lot of other batterypack/cases out there.

The iPhone already is practically a brick itself, but compared to say the Incase Slider, it adds just a little bit more bulk to the back and top and bottom, but not too much. It is the cheapest/thinnest external battery pack/case that I've seen on the market.
