  • Sean Hayes = The cutest boy in the whole world.

  • Dean Martin was the king of improv. No way these two would've ever gotten anywhere without his foresight and ability. When a guy comes in and smashes dishes when you're trying to sing and you end up playing along? Who's the real genious here?

  • Dean Martin was no idiot either. Trying to be a singer and then this happened to him and was able to run with it.

  • I worked in an agency once and heard 1:13 over and over again when you knew damn well that the actors weren't working.

  • @StanBennet And the office always had a woman working who knew the truth at 1:15.

  • I'm watching this movie and another movie on here called "Not Only, but Always" about the English duo, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore

  • Before the second performance - Jerry had written down "bits" and rutines to use. He wrote these bits on a pastrami sandwich wrapper -a grease stained brown bag He put it on the piano during the second performance- Jerry Lewis has that "BAG" still today in his vault / safe...at home ...it is the original gags they used and perfected-

  • fake dean is a fox just like real dean

  • According to Jeanne Martin-who has read Jerry's book-says it actually is fairly historically accurate to their real relationship.

  • So what you want to see Kelunathe1st is the Jerry Lewis biopic, not Martin & Lewis. And BTW- according to Jerry, that phone never occurred like that. No begging, just a solid business decision. But that's according to Jerry. Everybody else involved is dead so no way to prove.

  • I know. I dont even think he called Dean's publicist.

If Kelunathe1st is trying to enlighten people, then maybe they could start with recognizing that Dean wouldnt have been big without Jerry, and Jerry wouldn't have been big without Dean. They were geniuses, but without something to sell, they wouldnt have gotten big.

  • He didn't. A singer that D'Amato HATED that worked at the 500 got the flu and Jerry told D'Amato that Dean was an awesome crooner when he was having a rough time getting gigs and D'Amato said, "HELL NO, NO MORE CROONERS!!!" The Jerry stuck his foot in his mouth and said, "But we do this comedy act too!" Then, D'Amato hired Dean, who though he was just there to sing!

  • This' 2010, 8 months ago you said JERRY LEWIS was dead? lol Jerry Lewis (born March 16, 1926) is an American comedian, actor, film producer, writer, film director, singer and humanitarian.best-known for his slapstick humor in stage, screen, television, radio, and recording and charity fund-raising telethons and position as national chairman for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Lewis has won awards for lifetime achievements from The American Comedy Awards, Jerry Lewis is 83 years old.

  • So far I like this movie, but I wish theyd gone further back into his childhood. for those of you who dont know about his past let me enlighten you. His folks chased fame while he was raised by his grandmother and spent most of his time alone. When he was ten his parents got a regular gig so they sent for him, but he worked or stayed with aunts.

  • The town he grew up in was full of pro Nazi org. and sympathizers. Jerry is Jewish. Because he was shifted between homes he missed a lot of school therefore flunked the 5th grade, only back then the teacher would call the children who passed to the front of the class. He was the only child left back that day and everyone knew it. He said in an interview that it was then that he learned about humiliation.

  • When he was 15 he was kicked out of school 'cause he pouched out the principle who referred to him as an IGNORANT JEW. At 16 his dearest grandmother passed, leaving Jerry not only devastated and alone, but homeless. This man lived so much life before his 18th birthday. I only wish for his fans to know where his kind of talent and comic understanding came from.

  • I really like the whole old time-y feeling of this movie.

  • Hey cinemaniac, please do kill yourself, Jerry Lewis was an awesome dude, you just have no sense of humor.

  • =0 You hate Jerry Lewis ):

He's like one of my hero's aside from Sean Hayes and Vincent Price.

  • I love the phone call part and the way the boardwalk/beach looks, the way it was filmed, it just looks so old fashioned, like it was just straight out of 45/46!
