okay this part is pretty simple for me but i have the first gen ipod touch running 2.2 software and i can build the ipsw perfectly fine but when itunes opens up i get an error 2001 and i have to reboot the ipod and then it shows up in itunes. Then while trying to restore the ipod with the newly created ipsw i get the error 21. Do you know how I can bypass these 2 errors? thank you in advance

ok i just followed all the steps and got to the final point of restoring on itunes to the custom restore FW. When i click on it it starts to restore it until an error appears saying:

"The iPod "iPod" coul not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600)."

can anyone help me here? it wont turn on until i restore back to the 2.0 FW unjailbroken...

u need to have the actual file on ur computer

Try making sure iPod is plugged in and is on 2.0

Close iTunes

Make sure u r using the standard apple file not an already jailbroken one

If that doesn't work

On pwnage tool: go onto the top bar where it says the apps title and choose "Check for Updates"

UpdatEd version should 2.0.2 I think

And then use the apple 2.0.1 restore ipsw instead of 2.0 5A347

Tell me if it works

Yes, it will void your warranty but if uvever don't like it or if something goes wrong all u do is plug it into iTunes and hit restore

Then it is brand new otb and nothing ever happened

the jailbroken 2.0 can do everything a jailbroken 1.1.4 does, or at least the essentials. the only problem is that its not compatible with some apps, but apps like customize, installer, or kate will be compatible soon as the developers are working on it.
