I like Rollins band but this cover is not good. Drums are mixed too low (and the drums are the best part of this song both in the original and this version) and the vocals don't work with what the band is doing. The best version of this song is off the Unleded dvd. Too bad it's not a version that included the great Bonzo Bonham. Henry Rollins has a great intellect, I'm surprised that he would release this as his tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
@ZappaSauriio Ya, Led Zeppelin is shitty...They only paved the way for modern hard rock and metal music. Sooooo sorry they "killed blues". If you don't like Zep, don't listen to it...go listen to BB King or some shit, you spic faggot.
Hahahahahaha man... Yeh so does Dixon is shitty... Yup, Howlin' Wolf is crap and BB king is an asshole, and you use "Fag" as an insult, and I live in a small world... I hate this "Youtube fights" only cowards comment on other comments, because you need to prove to someone on the Internet that you are a brave youtube warrior...
Ok I'll go to listen to my shitty Blues and more of my shitty Jazz, but come on, grow up...
So they revived the blues by rippin' off those songs...?
I'll put it in other words; Zeppelin did to blues what Rollins did to this song (Sorry Henry, but this cover is the only thing I hated of all your songs). Ok then?
@ENCofficial Jeff makes those you mention look like beginners. There isn't an axeman dead or alive who has touched more genre's than Beck and done all of them proud. The guys you mention are good but not one person will know who they are in 25 years. You want hear something heavy try JB's "Big Block"
@ENCofficial Paige????? Dude I seen them live in 78 and they sucked live, except for Bonzo & JPJ. Jeff Beck could always play circles around Paige & still does. Why do you think JB is still crankin out Grammy's and Paige is nowhere?
@ENCofficial "Without and education." There's no "d" in "an" little buddy. I'm 26 years old with an eight year college education and double majors in Physics w/ applied calculus and Music theory, specifically atonal. A 20 year old shouldn't talk back to me considering he can't even drink legally yet.
Way to fucking go Henry! Everything that you have ever said about anyone else all boils down too one thing now, nothing. The one thing that matters to me is this incredible version of "Four Sticks" by Led Zeppelin. The best cover version ever. Rob/Boston
Very few bands are or will be will be covered as much as Led Zep. Everyone has their idea of who the greatest rock band is. That will be forever in debate. I lean towards The Stones but The Beatles seem to be more loved. Beatle fans seem to like Zep better than Stones or Who. Stones fans like The Kinks. Most will put Pink Floyd over The Stones. Simply cause they were not there and they enjoy headphones with their vices.
Well, Robert's voice sound different, but similar in every song!!!!!! It's as if he's one singer with multiple voices, I mean compare his voice to Kashmir to No Quarter to Immigrant Song to Stairway To Heaven to Four Sticks to Babe, I'm Gonna leave You, you can hear the BIG DIFFERENCES in his voice, but you stil know it's him, that is why he's one of the best singers ever!
Not everyone likes Plant. I get that. But without Plant`s vocals, Page would just be another well respected journeyman rather than a guitar God. I cringe when I hear John Fogerty`s voice. I don`t denounce him. Just cause it doesn`t appeal to you, doesn`t mean it sucks. It`s not always the sound. It`s the delivery. IE: Bob Dylan or Keith Richards. Neither sound GREAT, but they seem to get the job done better than anyone else.
The vocals don't fit
I don't care for the different lyrics at all
The drums are lacking presence and power
I wish I didn't know this existed.
Still an awesome riff, though.

I almost like the "don't have a shitshow of sounding like plant so I'm just gonna go apeshit" vocals

How dare you say, 'better than the original'!
Plants vocals are infinitely better than this guy's.
The guitar has too much distortion, although it does add a nice effect.
And this song is 100% Bonham, and you can tell the drummer of Rollins Band does not have the same intensity.
Go listen to Zepp a little more before you reply: Zeppellin > Rollins Band
