  • is there a specific type of keyboard that pianoteq supports or just any digital?

  • @vatomex289 any midi device

  • excellently presented. This video deserved FULL HD sound though. Enjoyed it none the less however - great! :)

  • Remember this song is supposed to have a lot of air on it. Like you were playing it in a field while watching nature doin its thang while you played a tune that themed to it locking it forever in place with the creator. Not in a mental health center while looking at crazy people laugh at it. IDK it's still digital although it does sound a lot like todays ivories I still would tinkle all over it. lol more bass tackle the highs flat on top then move the mics away and let it all go to hell.

  • Wow you played Clair De Lune perfectly

  • stfu and play already . Nice video..

  • I'm sure you could do an amazing piece of artwork only using 3 colors of crayons. It's all about smudging and blending, surely it can be done! Think outside the square!

Haha, I'm kidding, great video, well presented!

  • very very interestin and amazing i enyoj on thes lovely music.. <3 SUBSCRIBE!

  • god dam, now thats a keyboard i'd like to have

  • any discount?

  • Hey there -- what MIDI keyboard are you using?

  • What are the settings for this piano Teq? I see it's 440 Hz or is that on a default setting? thanks so much very nicely played :)

  • @ascot121 Thank you! This was performed with default settings, with the recording rendered at highest quality.

  • ... this is just too beautiful ... i love piano now

god u r THE BEST omg omg omg omg ... ugh omg u r awesome at the piamo i want to take a introduction to piamo class at my junior college... thank you so much

  • @aperso19 Try my free lessons at Piano from Scratch (dot) com!

  • Great interpretation! I compose a lot of midi piano classical pieces. Do you think that Pianoteq would be a good program for recording my midi pieces and then converting them into wave files? Thanks again.

  • @pianotuner101 Thank you, and absolutely, i think Pianoteq would be a great recording tool for your compositions

  • Hugh, we wait for a video,a performance with the K1 model of pianoteq.

    :-)

  • i really can't believe that's a keyboard.

    Also, expression ftw

  • Beautiful!

  • I could really use a full weight, hammer action keybord to take full advantage of this beautiful program. It would be great if you could recommend something that's not too pricey. Love your videos by the way.

  • hmm, do you happen to have a video of yourself playing the piece on the keyboard without pianotech? this is giving me incentive to learn this piece, it's beautiful :)

  • Ah, funny you should ask! Please visit my site at PianoFromScratch -dot- com and you'll find a whole series of lessons on "Clair de lune" - the very first video has me giving an overview of the piece on an acoustic Cunningham Piano. Let me know what you think! :)

  • Thank you

  • And obviously you're the best there is so I can't stop myself for ask if you could make videos on how to read notes from books or PDF, whatever. It would also help us understand more when you show us the notes you're playing on your tutorial videos. Just a suggestion :) Thanks again! (sorry for the bad English)

  • Great suggestion - I have some new videos that I need to finish editing, but I'll try to work on a series dedicated to more music theory for reading music notation.

  • Hey again thanks for the reply. Well I know this might be a big project and I'm preeetty sure you got a lot to handle but I got a suggestion for a video(s). A lot of us piano players on youtube haven't got any lectures or something similar and I know a lot of people don't know how to read notes. I've been searching for a while for tutorials or lectures on how to read notes but I can't find any good. (Too long comment, continues on next comment, haha)

  • Hey Hugh why do I never see you on the Pianoteq Forums?

  • @KJLazarus Gosh, I wish I had time to participate in the forums - I barely can keep up with Facebook, much less the mountain of emails (and YouTube comments) that pour in each day! I'll try to stop by and visit the Pianoteq Forums when I get a chance. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Sounds great! What specific Pianoteq instrument sound are you using? Also what is the keyboard?

  • That is Roland's RD-700GX stage keyboard. Aside from the V-piano, it has Roland's finest action. As for the instrument he is using, it shows you in the Video (C3 Solo Recording)

  • @KJLazarus Thanks for pointing these details out, KJLazarus - i'm actually using the RD700SX, but they're pretty similar models. The weighted action is really nice on this instrument. The Pianoteq C3 Solo Recording setting is slightly modified: I increase the soft pedal effect, as well as the dynamic range.

  • The results are excellent. I plan to use Pianoteq for playing Mozart and Schubert using MODARTT's beautiful virtual foretpiano sounds. What are the laptop's specs? Are you outputting the sound from the laptop into separate audio gear, via an internal or external sound card? Or is the sound coming out of the RD-700BX speakers?

  • @Camreals Pianoteq's historical piano settings are outstanding for playing classical and baroque music! The laptop I'm using is actually a very high end Sager, used mainly for gaming. The sound is actually coming from Pianoteq's internal recording program as a WAV file edited into the video. If I want to output the audio to an external set of speakers, I use my M-Audio Fast Track Pro's 1/4 inch output jacks.

  • @hughsung It's a pity that the new v3 version is too much for my iBook 1.33ghz. It is a HUGE improvement over v2, but... it simply can't manage it. It goes in overload even with 7 or 8 polyphonies.

Instruments different from piano work well (and it could have been expectable as they are simplier).

  • has any extra reverb been added to this?

I feel this recording might have extra reverb added in addition to the onboard

pianteq reverb.........it's a good effect,so maybe you can tell other pianoteq users

like myself how to achieve it.

  • Just play around with the perameters; it doesn't take long to find a good reverb sound (the presets are a good place to work from)

  • @flugelmaniac I'm using the default C3 Solo Recording setting (see the above comment for details on the soft pedal and dynamic range), then exporting the recorded MIDI file to a WAV file in the "best quality" setting.

  • You are THE BEST!

  • @guitavares34 Gosh, thanks for the kind comment! :)

  • Wow Hugh, that was incredible. It sounds almost like a regular piano. If you have a keyboard with some heavy keys, it might be pretty close to an accoustic.

  • @ajsope The Pianoteq program IS amazing! You're absolutely right, and the interesting thing is that with a good weighted keyboard, it not only sounds like an authentic acoustic piano, it actually feels like one too, since the expressive response is so sensitive.

  • Looks like Pianoteq made a lot of progress... sounds really beautiful! Btw you've got a great way to explain things, teachers should learn from you also.

  • @L77kim77l Thanks for your kind comments! :)

  • Wow that is just amazing, great song and the sound was perfect to this specific piece. You're a great pianist! Keep on making good videos! :)

  • @Niinami Thanks so much, Niinami! Great to hear from you again!
