What I loved about FFVIII was its complexity and all the possibilities and questions that merge within the story. But the characters' personalities were too realistic for some people to like, because, the protagonists they are teenagers and they too come to show the greatest flaws that any other teen can have. People think it's annoying, but I find this amusing.

Never played FF VIII or FF IX. based on amazon's description of FF IX is sounded like 9 directly followed 8 with the same characters. Can anyone verify if this is right or wrong? Currently playing through VII and I'm thinking about getting VIII now

FF8 is without a doubt the best Final Fantasy they have ever made, for those saying that there's too much story or that the story is too complex then learn how to comprehend things, FF8 is the deepest story line they've ever had and that's what makes it amazing. Also if you complain about enemy leveling with you, then once again learn how to win games without grinding, that's the way it should be. Best character development ever <3

I LOVE this game but haven't completed it. I feel as if the characters are my friends.

Haha-the furthest I EVER got was outside Lunatic Pandora with Adel (I had to restart now and again as the bosses were getting too hard/it was at an important stage where I had limited spells/items and couldn't go onto World Map) and my damn memory card corrupted! What's worse is I got it before UK as I imported from USA :( It was my first FF.

Oh yeah- is it Quistis x Seifer and Zell x Selphie x Irvine?

Overall is a great game, a lot of great features, especially card game, the only part i hate the most is the monster level up according to your character level, make me feel pointless to leveling.

The animation in this game is unbelievable for it's time, half the movies out around this time didn't look this good like toy story or a bugs life. Especially for a ps1 game it's just plain amazing.

@alvarez73726 lol, those aren't reviews, it's a spoof show. He doesn't even PLAY the games, he gets someone else to play the games, he just reads about them. He gets people to send in gameplay footage. Funny show non doubt, but spoony is not a serious reviewer (video games at least)

@redshirts23 i dont dislike the game at all. while kh and ffii plus ix merk ff8 in terms of story and characters, 8 has alot to offer many gamers. i guess it has too many slow points for some people. i dont mind drama in games, but it has to flow, and ff8 is just so random with its story most of the time, random events occur for no reason lol. like the stupid space scene.

@HieclexsXiii Hey man, I don't know if you have played this or not, but i wanted to tell you to get it! It's amazing, no joke. Compared to FF7, I'd have to say they are equals to each other. The fighting system is still turn based but a little more complicating setting up yoru characters. I say get it, because honestly, it kicks major ass.

Hiya. Thanks for your comment, but I'm not convinced it is! That scene is at night time and it's a dark/blue hue to the scene, where in this clip it almost looks like the background is the ballroom in balamb as it has a yellowness about it.

Its been bugging me for years and no one seems to know the answer :-(
