nice vid... i have a question on the breathing pattern... u go clean-breath in, breath out with the press, in with pulling it back to the rack.. and then out on the swing to reclean... isnt that putting the back on risk?? caus on swings the breathing is in on the swing and out on the top... i know its an old video but i hope u can help out. im on RoP and i cant nail the breathing...
great vid, it was like seeing everything in Pavel's book come to life. coming from a weightlifting background, i noticed u twist and angle your back to accomodate the KB as it goes up, is that dangerous for your back or does it make it stronger? i've never been able to get my shoulders to do that.
@MayorCheezHead Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the vid. What part in the video are you referring to? Slight torso rotation or even a slight lean to the side by kicking the hip slightly out is not dangerous (and may even be mandatory in order to keep you from toppling over if you start pressing a substantially heavy bell), you do not however want to lean backwards as this will compromise your back.
@supmuhhumbruh thx for responding, yeah i kinda meant when u kicked your hip out. i always thought that might throw off your back if u lifted a heavy enough bell but i guess it's the opposite way. ive tried pressing while keeping my back and core rigid and it dont work lol. as for the shoulders, what i meant was that i cant get my shoulders to sit as low and out to the side as yours when the bell is extended, my trap wants to pull my shoulder up and back :)
I started ETK: RoP this past week. I find this video very helpful, exactly in line with what Pavel instructs. It's nice to visually "see" what he says, thank you so much.
I hope you get your voice back and feel better soon. :)

I like the whole deeper voice thing for videos you've been doing, makes you seem more rugid.

@SyberFerret Kettlebell instructor and rugged are synonymous
