  • I see the cirrus moving away from the camera at a level up above the cumuliform clouds lower down, but what is an "outflow" cirrus? From what are the cirrus flowing out of or from? Are they in the jet stream?

  • The cirrus were flowing out of Hurricane Neki .

  • Ah ha. Well, that explains it. You didn't mention a hurricane in the video or in its description.

You have some great footage posted. Are you a researcher of some kind? If so, what is your specialty?

  • Duh. Sorry. I read the personals on your userpage. You research tropical cyclones. Duh. Answers my question! Great channel.

  • Yeah but I'm looking for a way out, tired of computer work, any ideas?

  • Jeez. I don't have any ideas at all. I teach as an adjunct at a CC; it barely pays the bills.

Maybe become a nature guide of some sort?

A lot of science people, it seems, go into their field because they love some specific aspect of nature. Then the research side of things - at least these days - becomes a never-ending computer crunch. A research geologist I know said "I got into geology because I wanted to spend a lot of time outdoors; in reality my job is sitting in front of a computr"

  • That was nice.

  • I'm not disappointed that I subscribed.

    Best,

    P.
