  • I love how the vague generalization "other games" comes to mean one other game, HL2 Lost Coast.

  • _____Sucks to that ass-mar! All the weapons in BOTH of those games suck--loaded with rubber bullets and fireworks that do NO REAL DAMAGE. When you shoot a guy, he's supposed to die. What's this crap about standing five feet from somebody's chest and emptying entire magazines into them, reloading, and STILL having to hit them before they go down? Hey game-makers, how about some realistic damage! Most game-makers have no friggin' respect for the power of firearms; that's what I think.

  • the best test would be to get some people in a line and shoot at them using the same weapons then look at the results:P

  • yeah, but if your playing on hard/delta, the KPA kill you in 3-4hits or less.

  • shotgun is not for long range, besides, the other video might have been using the (wide spread) mode of the shotgun...

  • you know that crysis was in beta when that 1up "preview" was posted, hint: see the power change screen is square, not like the current one. plus crytek patched the game for the ai diffulty like the week it came out.

  • and i actually think that the enemys in hl2 is MUCH easier to kill than the KPA soldiers

  • one diffrense is that in hl2 the enermies are some kind of aliens with high tec armor. you cant call tht KPA for aliens with high tec armor (im not counting the nano suit).

  • It's probably been addressed, but I'd like to know how Shawn and others responded to this. They just sort of shrugged it off with words, then you come out with videos not only proving them wrong, but comparing it to another game, one which is deified by the same people. I mean I love the GFW guys, but come on...

    Good show, sir. You have proved them wrong and gone about it beautifully. Shiny, indeed. No power in the 'verse, sir. My hat is off.

  • _____Another thing, it shouldn't take SEVENTEEN BULLETS to down ANYBODY! Some people are all like, "Duh... Submachine guns and pistols aren't powerful in real life." Really now? Okay, so let me shoot THEM seventeen times with a pistol. Hell, I'll even make it a pistol loaded with .380 ACP. Let's see 'em call pistols and submachine guns weak after THAT! They won't, 'cause they'll be DEAD. Then we'd have to go to Hell to ask the question. Most video game firearms suck.

  • This just seems like such a pointless argument, well done.

  • Not uncommon for soldiers to take 1/2 dozen bullets and keep coming. Need to hit something vital to drop em. Shotguns are only good to about 50 yards, and do little damage at that range, maybe 100 with a slug. I agree.

  • By the way, watched the full video, and Dan wins without doubt.

  • Crysis isn't a shooter in the mold of Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow Six or any other tactical shooter. It is more "old school", like F.E.A.R. or Call of Duty.

    I'd be interested to see a comparison of how it shapes up next to those two games in terms of ammo strength.

    I do think that it takes a touch too much ammo to kill the baddies, maybe 20% less would have been nicer. But one shot kills etc wouldn't suit the game at all.

  • 3-4 shots would be fine and 1 headshot

  • I'ts not that easy with the multiple shots to see how many it took to kill them as they could take two or three shots as they are in mid fall. Still, makes a good case though.
