I think when you have long hair and beard and not a shaved head would you look like a wizard, I mean longer hair is much cooler to look like one. Jordan had a better look in 2001/02. not too long hair, medium he looked much better

Call this a materialistic fasination if you will and maybe because I'm a licensed Realitor by trade but I have always been fasinated by that types of homes successfull musicians live in. Jordan's house (at a glance) looks like it's in the $300-400 thousand dollar range. Nice!
