How cool! Had I not clicked from one of my favorites, "Shotgun Boogie" to "Catfish Boogie," I would've never heard this...or seen it! Thank you so much for sharing it!
Wow! I don't think I've ever seen three people simultaneously play the same guitar before. Two guys strumming and playing chords on the lower three strings, while the guy holding the guitar strums and picks out the melody on the upper three strings. What a concept!
My daughter who has watched I Love Lucy faithfully for 25 years and knows them all, just today mentioned Lucy's Cousin Ernie ... this is the only way she knows about Ernie Ford.
Impressive, but gimmicky. Give Tennessee Ernie credit though, for working this pleasant little diversion into his show. However, since most guitarists start out strummin', and only get noticed if they can pick a solo, the talent to play GOOD rhythmn guitar is seldom appreciated. Don Everly is one of the best rhythmn guitarists in the business. And that's no novelty act.
Thank you so much for posting this! I believe I have this show on a tape somewhere. Did they play on any other episodes, and are those in the archives? Thanks!
Classy.

I think that is a first for me too, seen Jimmie and Stevie Vaughan play a double neck togethor, but this definitly pre-dates that.

Good one. I was a huge Every Brothers fan ...
"Cathy's Clown", "Take A Message To Mary", etc.
My daughter who has watched I Love Lucy faithfully for 25 years and knows them all, just today mentioned Lucy's Cousin Ernie ... this is the only way she knows about Ernie Ford.
