  • GET AWAY FROM THAT FOOOOD!

  • Why does the trailer contain the last scene from the movie? Fuck this shit.

  • We need more movies of this genre

  • Werner Herzog's magnum opus.

  • 1:38 the horse couldn't handle the wrath.

  • @legionofcrazies

Actually, the film WAS made in English, but the soundtrack was lost during the editing. It was dubbed into German when the soundtrack was post-synched. Notice that the German dialogue doesn't match the lip-movements. Therefore, when dubbed back into English, the lip movements match exactly. Kinski's voice isn't even ON the German soundtrack (he wanted more than a million dollars, which Herzog did not have), so this dub should be pretty acceptable.

  • i recently watched this movie, really got to me.great music, would highly recommend it

  • clams casino!!

  • this movie was actually shot in english and dubbed into german for the german audience.

  • Dubbed.. automatic thumbs down. "Ich bin der Zorn Gottes". It just has to be heard in German. Stop dubbing.

  • Terrible movie. That's nothing like Aguirre was. And most spaniards don't look that way, it seems that they wanted to portray the spaniards as mestizos. This is bullshit, READ A REAL BOOK, DON'T THINK YOU KNOW ABOUT HISTORY BECAUSE YOU'VE WATCHED AN HOUR LONG DOCUMENTARY FROM DISCOVERY CHANNEL.

  • @FernandoLuis191 no one said this was a documentary

  • @booyouharlot Neither did I.

  • @FernandoLuis191 he doesn't look meztiso, though, he looks German, what did you mean?

  • @sixpointneuf Well, he definitely doesn't look like a Spaniard.

  • @FernandoLuis191 well that's true

  • only 2 women..............

god i bet it was like a bukka fest everyday for em

  • 1100 men and 2 women, what a couple of whores!

  • @SonOfAWhisker The girl was her daughter Nastasja Kinsky in real life.

You must read about this epic insanity and avoid to write so lightly.

  • He's not too nice to the animals.

  • this movie was actually shot in english and dubbed into german for the german audience.

  • A tip for anyone yet to watch this.. DO NOT!! watch the dubbed (into english) version you will be doing yourself a huge injustice, the original german version (with subtitles, unless you are a native speaker of course) is the only way to see it.

  • I'm very sorry but the original version- in German- is much better, this one sounds just ridiculous.

  • Now i am definility watching this movie.... i wanna know the movie that influenced the great apocalypse now....And klaus looks classy.....he has a real viggo mortenson feel about him.....or rather viggo mortenson has a real klaus kinski feel about him.....

  • After watching this awful and ridiculous trailer I will gladly avoid watching this film... I thought trailers were about attracting audience though? hmm

  • @blodbotina don't avoid it

the subtitled version is far better

  • Herzog - Blood Meridian. Great idea. I can just see it. Who would play the Judge?

  • Why hasn't Herzog made Blood Meridian?

Love this film- music, acting, danger, art, beauty.

  • I am as restless and numb as most people who see films today yet I watched Herzog's "Aguirre - Wrath of God" for the first time two weeks ago and it really broke through my numbness. It's slow moving and production values are low but it doesn't matter at all when the end result is colossal. I think we can all live without 150 million dollar productions.

  • Its not a perfect film but thats what makes it special!

Although I dont like the acting by many of the other characters

  • Genius camera work, a great feel for angles, and especially actors' and actresses faces. A surrealistic painting of a film. The boat in the trees, the whirlpool, the horse among the leaves, the monkeys. All strange and beautiful choices. Bravura film making.

  • that was one hell of a trip

  • I saw this once on television in the UK. What an excellent film it was.

  • can someone wake me up after the trailer plz?

  • @BehelitOutlaw wow, that was an excellent commandment of the irony

  • @BehelitOutlaw what a pathetic attempt at sarcasm

  • @esla90 oh .... eh ..... ah, well thank you for waking me up

  • wtf is this...

  • @mostrone32 one of the greatest movies of all time ( minus the corny english voice actors )

  • Amazing!!! The most realistic film I have ever seen... You can tell the actors were struggling in that jungle

  • So is this movie as slow and boring as the trailer makes it seem??

  • @SocialLocust Its not boring, its just like if you travel with a time machine to 1560, its a really nice and realistic film. Coppola was inspired by this film, to make Apocalypse Now.

  • ……. Anyone who hasn't yet seen this … MUST!

  • 1:18 that's one ugly mug

  • at 1:58 the madmen almost killed an extra with his sword. Got him right on his head and without the helmet the extra was wearing, Kinski would have most likely split the head open. So he just had an severe cut.

  • klaus kinski is something like a god in this role

  • Chuck Norris favorite actor

  • Alright, here's what I don't get.. They did this film in English because it was the only common language amongst all the actors.. So WHY THE FUCK does the German dub have such a better look when it's actually filmed in english?

  • @Erectoralporicy The original and most known version is in German

  • "I am the Wrath of God! And the Earth trembles beneath my feet!"

  • radioblueheart

Saddam Hussein could just as easily said that! In fact, all tyrants had delusions of grandeur. They feel they are superior to everyone and lowly humans should bow to them and subjugate themselves to the Cosmic Tyrant!

I often ask Xans why their values change when speaking of a tyrannical god, vs. a tyrannical human? Is it simply bcuz the god has such incredible power? This god doesn't demonstrate incredible mercy. He does admit creating evil & inflicting that evil upon man!

  • @Cootabux

Wow! Its almost as if I cared!

I think I will get back to watching the movie trailer now.

  • GET OUT OF MY WAY HORSE

YOURE A HORSE NOT A ROADBLOCK

    YOU ARENT EVEN ORANGE

  • film's based as fuck.

  • @DEATHBYFEDERAL

    SWAG!

  • 1:45 he scared the poop out of that horse

  • What a bad trailer! It basically told the entire film :(

  • This film (and the soundtrack) blew my mind.

  • héy_pâsst_hìêr_ñèt_rèîn_abå_ìch_bìñ_sò_èïnsâm_wïll_jêmánd_mït_miá_schréibéñ

  • The opening sequence is utterly spectacular its worth buying this movie for that alone.

  • LOL MY LAST NAME IS AGUIRRE!

  • Kinski had the face to end all faces

  • @sratus And start ALL wars!

  • @sratus It is the only thing Chuck Norris is scared of !

  • the monkey toss... is... soo 70's

  • @metalpsalm yeah people were throwing monkeys aroubnd all over the place then. i even had a HASBRO "monkey basketball" hoop.

  • It's not a terrible movie, but it's not aguirre, that's what my main problem was with this.It wasn't like Aguirre at all

  • @acebunny17

That's very true, but I really like Herzog's interpretation/story of history - sure it's not very accurate.. But the messages within the film make it so much more better than any historically accurate version could've been, at least in my opinion.

  • Is anybody going to try to upload this movie? That would be great.

  • @amgbemenayahoocom OR you could buy the DVD

  • 3 people here, when they die, are going to be tormented by Kinski in Hell or in Heaven... it doesn't matter, he has access to both.

  • 1:39 :p - get out of my way (horse)!

  • Yeah it's the best product of their fucked up friendship.

  • the scene where he throws the monkey is genuine and not part of the script

  • The way this movie ended was one of the best endings of any film I've ever seen. It was perfection.

  • americans cant read subtitles...

  • as roger ebert said, pearl harbour's catering costed more than the whole production of this film, yet aguirre wrath of god is actually a real epic

  • @SuperHeroMania costed?

  • @JohnTheHutDweller i'm usually lazy when I write LOL

  • @SuperHeroMania Awesome, Me too

  • 1:19 he fucking stares through the camera into your soul...

  • 1:19 i didnt expect him to look in the camera at all lol it gave me a fright

  • Aguirre is my last name lol

  • Wow, where can I find this film?

  • @likepocketsjingling You should be able to find it at a library. Or they can locate it for you.

  • we watched this for history yesterday- it's such an awesome movie!

  • oh wow he just tosses the tiny monkey aside :P

  • i never would imagine the wrath of god's daughter would actually be teaching me methods and tecnhiques on anthropological research... but she does :D we love her at the faculty, in lima :D

  • vier, fumf, acht, neun....*head gets cut off* zehn... LOL

  • The monkeys were paid peanuts apparently... not liking the bad dubbing...

  • The monkeys were paid peanuts apparently...

  • @sturman80

Have you heard the whole story behind the monkeys? Herzog is one great man..

  • the decapitation scene takes the biscuit

  • I think the crew just couldn't keep up with Aguirre, too much a commander for the whiny bastards...

  • is this any good?

  • Lope de Aguirre was called a traitor or crazy.

He declared independence in the territories he discovered , the first declaration of independence in America , the spanish army annihilated the whole group , wich was not destroyed before by aguirre

  • Herzog once said Brando is kindergarten compared to Kinski and that Kinski was like a wild, raw animal trapped in a cage.

  • For Don Lope de Aguirre, all animals, horses and monkeys, belong in the water.

  • Aw, the poor little monkey at the end :(

  • I still get the chills with the final shot of this movie... cannot understand how Herzog shot that 360° donward spiral around the boat...

    I love this film btw

  • Sin duda alguna la interpretacion de Kinski en esta pelicula es lo unico que la hace unica.

  • at the end on the raft with only the monkeys there is a jumpcut. Does anyone understand what purpose this served or if it was some sort of fix for something that may have happened with the monkeys.

  • hes a scary fish

  • @coenpat He looks straight out of a Lovecraft short story, like Innsmouth...

  • I watched this on Film 4 last year. What a superb production.

  • there are a lot of great stories about how difficult/interesting it was to make this film.

at one point the natives approached herzog and offered to murder kinski because the two had been fighting so much throughout the shoot.

herzog said that he considered their offer!

  • I saw the German language version back at SUNY Buffalo. It's an awesom film

  • Man,it looks like that fuckin' horse really fell out from fear of the epic yell!!!!!!!

    NUTS!!!

  • stupid horse wouldn't get outta the way

  • My names Bill Diehard3. I often wonder about that too.

  • one of the greatest films ever made

    sooo fantastic

  • I want to see this movie, but mostly because my last name is Aguirre.

  • @hotrumbera The film is amazing. One of the all time greats. But don't expect Hollywood. This is the antithesis of Hollywood. The cast starts off in an awful situation and things only get worse and worse and worse...

  • Pure Genius!

  • Just watched it, didn't know what to expect.

    Excellent.

  • Where can I watch this?

  • @xaxie1 i tried to find it on the computer, its not on there, i just bought the klaus kinski and werner herzog collection, i finally watched it

  • It seems odd to me to see a load of people in steel body armour in the rainforests, still its an exelent film

  • wait...how have I never heard of this before...this looks amazing.

  • @lelapindore

ok, I'm not entirely serious about that, Herzog is totally the best director but I still wouldn't watch it in english

  • @lelapindore this is not Kinski's voice? OMG, i didn't even know that, sorry bud

  • @lelapindore a waste of time in english? i agree that german is better, but this is a masterpiece ur talking about, a waste of time in english?

  • @NXTNextGeneration

I totally agree with you; this is my all time favorite movie by a long sea mile.

But without Kinski's voice (et al.) the movie loses a bit of its soul...

  • @lelapindore : Hello, i can tell you: in english is it the real voice of Kinski! I live in Austria, and in the german version of this movie, kinski has the voice of a german actor, who sync. kinski in many german versions of kinski's movies (Sorry for my bad english - i hope, u understand :-)).

  • @cundalini79

Why would a german speaker stand in for another german speaker ?

  • Comment removed

  • @anchorman45 Your name is "anchorman45". Poor thing.

  • the little monkey shit himself at the end ._.

  • @cableman Yes the monkey shit itself then kinski threw it in the water..... The ASPCA would have a field day with this one.

  • Klauss Kinski the last gratest real german actor!!!

  • @stjimy

Kinsky was no actor! He was kinsky and played himself all the time.

  • @11Kralle agree whit u!!!

  • one of the greatest films ever made

  • cult

  • Does anyone have any info on the actor Del Negro??????

  • Looks like a healthy manly version of Golum 1:03

  • @Fingyfin LOL that was so funny

  • hahah fell kinda bad for the horse there...

  • One of the actresses appeared on this is beauty Helena Rojo a great one from Mexico. the other blonde one is kinda look alike to Kinski daughter Natassja if you note.

  • How do I find the English version??! I have looked everywere.

  • aguirres visual style and narrative elements would have a strong influence on apocalypse now.

  • i just put my last name Aguirre and this came up.....cool

  • Magnificent.

  • did monkey died?

  • No, they were captured by hired trappers prior to shooting and then released into the jungle once filming was finished.

  • so is this a comedy?

  • Your joking, right?

  • well some parts make it seem like its a comedy

  • I think its one of the greatest films of all-time, but then I have only seen the film in German and this trailer is badly dubbed making it seem a little comical.

  • I see, im sure they only have it out on VHS?

  • I disc DVD came out in 2000 in German with subs.

  • it seems actually the film was acted/shot in english as it was a shared language between the multicultural cast. they then decided to dub german onto it, possibly because everyone speaking outside of their native tongue would've produced slightly wobbly dialogue...

  • @finecrystal yea, its all a bit odd. I have only ever seen the German version with english subs and the film is listed as being released in German. However, like you I have heard that many of the actors performed in English and then the German was placed over the top. The above trailer seems to be a further dub in English.

  • it seems it actually was shot in english because this was a shared language. it was later dubbed into german, probably when they realised having english dialogue from everyone seemed a bit ropey

  • 3:15 Monkey, you are so totally not with me.

  • 3:15 -Monkey, what are you doing here, your presence is not desired on my raft, you can't even perform basic sailor-duties, be gone with thee.

  • brilliant film

Coppola used the theme, in a way, when filming Apocalypse Now

  • beautiful movie

  • ooow little monkeys

  • My favorite part of the movie was when the black guy got hit with an arrow, and then philosophically acted as if it wasn't real.

  • "No animals were hurt during the making of this film"?

  • VIKING runes were found in bolivia, peru, it seems the vikings used the rivers of brazil to travel inland, and they had contact with natives of south america hundradths of years before the spanish were even born. INTERESTING HUH?

  • Yes, very interesting, indeed. Do you have a link for me? To look it up?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Yes my friend, I have collected info from diff places. It seems authorities don´t want to openly say to everyone these are viking runes because history was already written in books saying culumbus discovered everything. I´m sending the links on a private

  • Ive seen this this Film this Evening. Its SOOO good! I never expected that! Its almost Hypnotic and it has some Images ive never forget, like the Horse that stands in the Jungle while the Boot is going away and the Ship High Up in the Trees. Its very Weird but its Fantastic!!!

  • The character on whom Aguirre is based actually did lead a conquistador's rebellion, but in different circumstances. At any rate, a really nice performance by Kinski.

  • kinski at best

  • Klause Kinski 1- horse 0

  • Mr Kinski is the German Jack Nicholson.

  • Yes and much much more diabolical. A stunning actor!!!

  • he dropped the little monkey to river.

  • @EvilToeJam Mr Kinski was a loony!
