  • From his words in this video, does Richard Dawkins admit that he does not speak via the Spirit of truth? - He does say that he would invite Jesus to "find out what really happened" - But Christ's words are already recorded, by many witnesses, in the New Testament.

If it is to be: Christ's words will reach anyone of us, because the Spirit of truth is in every word that he utters.

Truth therefore is above the dishonesty of mankind, and is above the dishonesty found in any religion.

  • Funny how a priest saved Hitler's life when he was a child. Irony at it's finest.

  • Why doesnt Dawkins care for poor, start red cross - similar institutions... Can he invent heavenly music and tear drying hymns . Oh

My soul .. I weep for u Dawkins .. U dont understand love if Christ . Rem it was religious people who killed Christ. Ian against religion.. But Ian for god and his love . I know Dawkins u r in a dilemma bet Darwin and Jesus.. U seem so eager to meet them in person.. Hope it is not too late. Heaven need u. My prayers

  • Dawkins doesnt claim to be perfect, as Im sure you claim your God to be. He therefore is not expected to be able to do the things you ask of him at the beginning of your comment. Prayer is for the Christian Heaven, Dying in combat is to get into the Norse Heaven etc...there are so many different ones, it just depends on which fairy tale you prefer.

  • It's all about the money Richard..Its' all about the money Rich....Rich it's all about getting Rich...That's why.

  • @SacredSocietyAP I am sure it is not, though he has made a lot of money by doing a lot of good as opposed to a lot of his religious counter parts who have made a lot of money by spreading bull shit

  • @gluepot66 That was the point I was trying to make.

  • wasnt this the guy that got owned by that old lennox dude

  • @YouBeMadlol what lennox dude?

  • brilliant human

  • Science is our best shot, at understanding things...

  • dawkins is brilliant. does anyone perhaps know what the classical piece is at the beginning?

  • Question: If Homosexuality is such a "natural part" of the animal kingdom, why hasn't evolution worked it's way around the problem?

  • @PppPlyr1

"Question: If Homosexuality is such a "natural part" of the animal kingdom, why hasn't evolution worked it's way around the problem?"

What problem? You mean homosexuality? Why would it be a natural problem? It only effects about 5% of the population of the human race so dieing out from lack of babies is not an issue.

Infact for homosexuality to exist it must have evolved and have an genetic advantage for the group. Perhaps having men and women who are not sexual competitors helps

  • @ackmonra "Perhaps having men and women who are not sexual competitors helps"

This could sound valid, but if you think about it, it doesn't really make a lot of sense. Natural selection works on YOU for YOUR favor. It's not going to evolve the other guy in a certain way to help you out. It's going to evolve YOU in your OWN way to help you out. Natural selection doesn't know you need the other guy in the tribe to be gay so you can have more women.

  • @SeedsOfHatred

Most of your genome isn't just in you - almost all your genes are spread around your hetrosexual siblings too - working, partial and/or dormant.

The questions is, is their a natural survival advantage for the a population to having 3.8% of your species being homosexual?

If the answer is yes - the occasional gay kid will improve the survival chances of the tribe who has the genes for occasional gay kid.

Natural selection keeps it 3.8% - because more or less is detrimental.

  • @ackmonra I'm aware of that, but my point is that it doesn't make sense to say that homosexuality of the OTHER guy was meant to benefit YOU. There are various reasons that the genetic glitch of homosexuality has persisted, just as the genetic glitch of Down Syndrome has persisted. That is true. But again, natural selection is looking only at the individual. Not at the group. Let's say most of the group has blonde hair. Ok. That doesn't mean it's an advantage; it just means that particular

  • @ackmonra (cont.) gene has persisted for various reasons. The same can be said of homosexuality. There's no advantage, it just happens to persist through generations.

  • @SeedsOfHatred

I'm not saying it is definitely beneficial - i'm just explaining how it could be so based on how genes are transferred in a populus.

So long as mothers who can have the odd homosexual child are potentially more likey to have a stable and safe living condition to raise the rest of their hetrosexual offspring - there is no reason why such a thing could not evolve in mothers.

  • Muslims still stone people to death, the reason Christians don't - John 8:7

  • @DWGuitar111 Evangelical christians in Nigeria are torturing and killing thousands of children because they believe the children are witches. Which verse of scripture covers that?

  • @sailcat9 No scripture that I'm aware of, but if this seems incomprehensible to you( that so-called evangelical christians are sinners) check out Romans 3:23

  • @DWGuitar111 Is your quote coming from the bible? Would that be the same bible that inspired the Norwegian murderer in Olso to slaughter 90+ innocent people? The same bible in which the KKK is so deeply rooted? How about the Westboro Baptist Church...is it the same bible on which they anchor their message of hate and intolerance? It appears your bible contains something for everybody! Especially murderers, bigots, and hypocrites. The worst part is that the bible is just fiction. How sad...

  • In think the main reason I've discounted religion is that I've felt I wanted to be the "Captain of my own ship". Good or bad, I take full responsibility for my deeds in life.

  • @myromeodude123 God has walked the gang plank into the sharks :P

  • Religious upbringing is child abuse.

  • Dawkins IS God ;)

  • @Eizenstahl He would be grossed out by yout comment.

  • allow me to correct Dawkins:

he should use the term crane in the plural: CRANES!

This is the secret of evolution: every living being is acting like a little crane that solve its problem related to its survival and reproduction.

Cranes is intrisically a collective enterprise (just like science). But religion proposes only a monolog of a god on a humanity (mark my word, not a dialogue, but a monologue!).

So next time: SKYHOOK versus CRANES!

  • @MrSimonm1976 The 'teachings' were often plagiarized from other religions or added in by different authors decades later. The principals I was raised on are found all over the world from every culture and religion. I'm sure someone named George said something interesting once.. maybe we should worship George.

  • @MrSimonm1976 You said there is good historical evidence for an actual Jesus but the evidence is just as 'good' as there is today of a Scott or Dave actually existing. Nobody would claim that nobody named Jesus ever existed.

  • @MrSimonm1976 The gospel of Mark was written well after Paul's story of Jesus which was also written well after Jesus allegedly existed. All the other evidence you mention is either vague referenced to someone named Jesus (no other details) OR talking about a religious leader 'Christ' not both. They could have been writing about George Christ or Jesus Smith.

What do you think about the story around 'he without sin shall cast the first stone'?? Is that a good example of the wisdom of Jesus?

  • Closely listen to an Inception dvd made before the Janaury 8th Tucson shooting, especially during the dialogue, "Do It."

  • Yellow Crab is my god. watch?v=FjyuppRojRA

  • @MrSimonm1976 As you point out the bible was written by others long after the alleged death of this person called jesus ( if he ever existed at all ) and there is no proof, none what so ever of his actual existence.

As for his supposed teachings, well I must admit that some of what is said in the bible does have its good points but don`t you think that this book was actually written to give some cohesion to an ever expanding population.

This thought applies to ALL holy books bwwtw.

    Sincerely

  • So long as I draw breath,my beautiful young daughter will never be subjected to the teachings of any holy scripture.

ALL holy books are there for one reason only and that is to suppress the masses.

  • @naybobdenod

Do you hate your daughter that bad that you want to see her grow up and die in sin? Or is it your own selfish pride? Either way, you will be held responsible for your selfishness when you stand before God and your "unbelief" will be of no validity because there truly is no person who believes in his/her heart that God does not exist. God gave you life, He gave you your daughter and the simple fact that you are too prideful to teach her about God is truly disturbing.

  • @1776iscoming

Prove your god exists or keep your mouth shut.

  • @1776iscoming there is no need to be a hate monger, chillout, stop pushing religon in other peoples faces

  • @1776iscoming Oh dear.

You STATE that I will stand before a god.Pleases show me proof n then, and only then will I contemplate a conversion.

Having faith does nothing to prove the existence of a deity.

  • @1776iscoming I think it's a sin to brainwash your kids with religious mumbo jumbo. AND if there is a god that has an opinion then I don't believe it will think much of it either. You know in your heart that god does not contradict itself or reality, something no religion seems to agree on.

  • @sfg911

You think it's a sin to tell your children that God loves them? I'm not talking about religion, ie going through the motions like islam, Catholicism, Buddhism, or any of the rest of them. I'm talking about Christianity which is a relationship with Jesus, the one who gave us life and died so that we could have eternal life.

  • @1776iscoming YES, I say it's a sin to tell your children they are worthless and born evil, deserving punishment unless they accept a human sacrifice as the best thing that ever happened to them. Especially since it makes no sense and is contradictory to historical evidence and contradictory to itself.

  • @sfg911

God does not say we are worthless, but that we are born into sin and have a sinful nature. If Jesus believed we were worthless, He would not have come to this earth to save sinners and give us a way to go to Heaven. In fact, if you or I were the only person on the face of the planet, Jesus still would have suffered and taken God's wrath for us. There is nothing contradictory to it, Jesus performed the greatest act of love in the history of the universe.

  • @1776iscoming If being born deserving of eternal torture cannot be described as worthless then what can? Your need to be "saved" to become a real person... this is what you teach.

A human sacrifice isn't something to be proud of. It is disgusting and wrong at every level. And this is the best plan the all loving creator of the universe can come up with? To top it off... what is the sacrifice?? Is Jesus dead or alive? Is one mans suffering for a few days = the eternal suffering of trillions?

  • @sfg911

No, we're all people, but in order to have eternal life, ie spend eternity with God, yes, the bible teaches that one must recognize that they have broken God's law and put ones faith in Jesus as the atonement for their sins. Jesus is God, the creator came to this earth and allowed Himself to take the punishment for our sins, what can be more loving than that? He could of just ignored us and He would have been just in doing so, but He loved us so much that He took our punishment, awesome

  • @1776iscoming What can be more loving than a scape goat human sacrifice?? Just about anything.

What would be worse than living forever? Living forever without the chance to learn new things, grow and improve yourself.

Once you think about this story of Jesus and eternal life, nothing about makes any sense.... it's actually quite disturbing.

  • @naybobdenod Amen.

My mom showed me Bible stories when I was like 6 or 7. One was the thing about not denying Christ, even if it meant the person was going to kill you. Even at 6 I was like "That doesn't make any sense." Even then I was like "I'll just say I'm not a Christian and tell God sorry later" haha.

My mom was great but she taught me what to think and not how. Now with my self gained critical thinking it's hard to talk to her sometimes because she never knows WHY she thinks anything.

  • @sk8tafrnk Thats the female of our species for you lol.

Just be an individual and follow your own instincts.

  • @naybobdenod No kidding.

One time I told this girl I knew that I wasn't trying to offend her when I asked why girls did certain things, whether she could tell me or not, and also assuring her I wasn't implying ALL girls did the same thing. Haha. I've never been threatened by being asked why guys were dicks sometimes. Why would you ask that to someone you thought was a dick haha. Gotta make it touchy.

Anyway. What I got it to boil down to is sometimes girls just "do stuff," no logic at all haha

  • @sk8tafrnk lamo,too true.

The females of our species are a mystery, they keep us guessing, looking and asking.

Perhaps thats how it should be eh.

Nothing wrong with a bit of mystery, just means we have to do a little research :)

    Keeps things interesting lol.

A few years ago my wife and myself were watching `Pearl Harbour `the film, half way through she asks me,Is this a war film, ( under my breath I said ffs love ) but I just said,of course darling, lmao.

Cant live without them my friend lol.

  • @naybobdenod Haha. Yup yup.

  • @naybobdenod That's a pretty narrow minded world view. Just curious, in your world view (I'm assuming is secular/atheist) why is it considered bad to "suppress the masses"?

  • @voted4bush Why narrow minded, all I want is for my child to be brought up an individual, capable of developing her own thoughts instead of some stone age bigoted ideals doing it for her.

I really cannot believe you have asked the question ` why is it considered bad to suppress the masses`.

All you have to do is to take a look at the present day middle east and northern africa to find out the answer to your question.

Freedom of mind is essential to human development and not suppression.

  • @naybobdenod I don't know why you consider Christianity to develop thoughts for people or to be bigoted etc. Perhaps a misunderstanding of doctrine?

Taking a look at the suppression in africa just proves there is suppression. Whether it is solely from religious ideaology or not is debateable. It does not, however, say why it is bad in your world view. So I ask again, why is suppression bad in your world view?

  • @voted4bu Your first point. All religions are pure dogma. To follow a set of principles which cannot be questioned is faith based dogma.

All suppression including religious and political ideologies is a threat to the freedom of individuals.

Anything other than a democracy generally speaking is a suppressed society, one without freedom of expression and poor human rights.

Islam in particular is the most suppressed religion (ideology) as apostasy is punishable by death.

    Suppression =aggression

  • @naybobdenod Your description of a "faith based dogma" is strikingly similar to the theory of evolution. Christ himself questioned his role, so Christianity isn't unquestionable.

You gave me another description of suppression, not why it is bad. Just answer: Why is suppression bad in your world view?

  • @voted4bush Why suppression is so bad.

Suppression is a process when an individual or group ( church, oppressive government, none democratic state )tries to censor, persecute or otherwise appress the other party rather than communicate logically.

A suppressed individual is someone whose basic human rights have been erased. = = = does not have the freedom of his /her own thoughts.

A suppressed world, without basic freedoms would be unacceptable.

    Hope thats ok for u

  • @naybobdenod very well said thank you

  • @phildirt3 And thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment

  • EVERYONE JUST BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE AND SHUT UP!

END WAR, THEN TALK ABOUT IT!

All people do on youtube is fight. End the REAL WARS or shut up!

You talk about "reality" but you don't even face your own.

  • @SunnyLovetts Nah mate you don't know what you're talking about

  • @SunnyLovetts They aren't fighting, they are debating

    Very different

  • @SunnyLovetts

Stop debating important issues because there are military conflicts in the world? That doesn't make any sense.

  • @SunnyLovetts "Just believe what you want to believe" is not a good idea. It is the opposite of "question and examine things to reach better understanding." It is a lazy way out.

  • I just wanted to add one thing to all of you. You are debating an extraordinarily serious issue and while many of your points may be correct, you do most certainly sound like an entirely dismissible fucking moron when you do not even bother to spell or punctuate properly--just some food for thought.

  • A message for Richard Dawkins, From one who believes in the sanctity of “Truth”

The most perplexing thing for Truth itself and for those of us who worship Truth, is that ALL Atheists (Non Theists - if you prefer) and MOST religious people (Including Christians, Jews, Muslims - all denominations) cannot see Truth for what it really is.

  • @2gointruth Actually, we do see the Truth for what it is. We know that Zeus created the world, we just like to pretend that it was the Big Bang for lulz.

  • @acr08807

With all my faults, I do not feel a need to use sarcasm to explain Truth --- For, "Truth" is the axiom by which all things known to man are measured, including the creation of "Big-bang" and "Evolution" ... That, I suggest, is Truth for what it really is.

  • @2gointruth I'm telling this to you for your own good. When you wind up with a lump of coal in your stocking instead of a real present because you dissed Santa, don't say I didn't warn you. BTW, just some quick personal advice, you ought to learn what the word axiom means before you try to use it in a sentence.

  • @acr08807

Please do not concern yourself with my many faults. For, I am in the hands of the Spirit of truth.

  • @2gointruth And how does one find this 'Truth'? With faith?? Faith is the only path to believing a lie. Any 'truth' would be supported by evidence and religion has freely admitted having no such thing for thousands of years.

  • @sfg911

One cannot necessarily find truth using faith. One must first understand truth.

For there is no such thing as "Any 'truth'" but only one truth! - With many different concepts of the one truth.

  • @sfg911

The words are yours! - For that which cannot be understood will always appear confusing.

  • @2gointruth maybe there is a reason it cannot be understood..... a square circle cannot be understood.

  • @sfg911 Forgive me, but I cannot see any truth in your statement.

  • @2gointruth You must understand square circles then! Amazing.....

  • @sfg911

And should I be as sarcastic in reciprocation?

  • @sfg911

Only out of Truth, is all created. And only by Spirit of truth can this be understood.

  • @asajol Only out of Purple, is all created. And only by the Spirit of Purple can this be understood.

You can twist a word like "Truth" all you want but you're just babbling. Someone else told me recently that "Death sinned and now death must die" It sounds great, if you are that desperate to have an explanation for your square circle, but you can toss any other descriptive word in there to show how silly it is.

  • @sfg911

Please excuse me, I also have an account under "asajol" and was inadvertantly logged onto the wrong account in my two recent replies.

Surely we only call "babble" that which we cannot grasp? "Truth" cannot be twisted, as you seem to insist as there is only one Truth.

However, you do attempt to "twist" my words: which were "Only out of Truth, is all created."

    I never mentioned "Purple"

    You are confusing the two.

  • @2gointruth "Truth" cannot create ... neither can "Purple" or "Apparent" or any other word you pick from a hat. Your sentence "Only out of Truth is all created" is babble JUST like "Only out of Purple is all created"

Babble can be just babble... or are you just too limited to understand this??: Apples flew spider under the galaxy you.

  • @sfg911

As you wish! ... I will not be as rude and disrespectful to you

  • @2gointruth By rude and disrespectful you mean telling someone they are too stupid to understand your superior intellect... right?

Your sentence makes sense if you replace Truth with God. What you are trying to do is call your god "truth" without having to provide any evidence or logical argument. It's dishonest.... AND twisting words. Call your god god instead of trying to trick people.

  • @sfg911

Truth is my God, and is the God that you, through rudeness and disrespect, can never know.

  • @2gointruth If anyone here is being rude... it's been you. Trying to cheat by calling your god "truth" and then suggesting I just don't get it when I point out that your god's name is "god", not "truth"

If you want to communicate with people, use the correct words.... if you want to deceive people then you can re-name your god to whatever you like.

  • @sfg911

You can never know my God.

The more you say do your words show what is truly in your heart.

  • @2gointruth Why would I want to know a god that demands ignorance and blind faith? Everything I hear about this god is immoral. Even the followers do nothing but lie, insult and proclaim "truth" when they have none.

Now you're calling me evil when I point out your god's name is god and calling him "truth" is noting but confusing, cheating and deceiving. You fit right in.

  • @scaussie78 Please explain to me why you said " like YOUR bronze age breed"? I am not religious. Nor am I atheist.

  • yes, he doesn't talk about Jesus>>

  • dawkins is the best scientist because he hates the religion, i o u dawkins

  • dawkins is the best scientist because he hates the religion, i o u dawkins

  • Comment removed

  • Dawkins is blinded by time

  • Maybe Atheism is just a metaphor for people who can't stop arguing with other people. So go find the most poor miserable wretch on the planet and then add to that idiots misery by telling them there is no proof of a god which would be something that person cannot grasp anyway so all you are is a hater. I don't have a position on God. How's that. Tom marrow a new group of collegians will pop up claiming They are the new top group on beleif because they don't beleive that I can beleive that

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 i haven't made my decision yet. They call themselves Utheist's. Obviously they cant use an "A". Now you understand what I mean about the hierarchy of belief. There is always a hierarchy, This is natures laws so don't tout your non-spirituality and then claim science and then turn around and say something completely invalid like "What is the hierarchy of god belief?" Well obviously there is one because some religions have sustained themselves while others have died off. MEme

  • Funny in this video he say's "they use out of date or poor explanations for God" This surly is a joke as what he means to say is "Evolution" refutes purpose for God.

This isn't correct, we knew evolution to be possible but not nearly on the scope of what Darwinists believe to be possible however, Evolution just adds to the concept of God as it was God who said "let the ground produce the creatures".

The gap between ape and man is still unplausible though as there are too many gaps in knowledge.

  • It is always interesting to see theists arguing for the existence of God using bad language. Interesting indeed! :(

  • If you really want to understand the world understand this. Pythagorea was home to a murderous cult. The life of Romans during the Flavian dynasty is alot like the life you lead now, A militant jewish sect was trunced by the first Flavian emperor then the new testament was sold on the jews who excepted they're new religion. these were the less angry jews of course. An old propaganda method was used. Tell a town about a story in the third town. Tell a second. don't tell the original town.

  • I have an interesting valid argument here. As loved by Atheist everywhere and I am a giant fan of Charles Darwin recent research and investigations of my own have led me to aa greater understanding of the Jesus myth. Jesus in fact was most likely created by the Roman Josephus Flavian. There are great sites on the internet you can research the topic. I am quite certain that all living beings on this planet are connect somehow within they're psyche. So the Atheist has slowly lost they're flare.

  • Meh, Atheism is old. It's all about Nihilism now...

  • @IsaacP150 Oh, is that so? Guess I should hop on the 150 year old Nihilism bus if that's where all the cool kids are hanging out. Never mind that being an atheist says as much about your personal philosophy as disbelief in Santa Clause or Russel's teapot does.

  • @eNRGy27 Atheism is really nothing more than a corporate plot to reap some reward off of anthropology and EEvolution.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 A corporate plot? Exactly what corporation is that? And if you want to list the branches of science that back up the atheist stance you might want to add astronomy, physics, paleontology, sociology, psychology, neurology, and ... hell, all the rest. Is disbelief in Poseidon a "corporate plot"? Is disbelief in Ra a "corporate plot"? What about Alla, Thor, Vishnu, Zeus... Does atheism in those gods factor into your conspiracy theory as well?

  • @eNRGy27 What conspiracy dick head? All l belief is merely the suspension of natural instinct. So Athiesm as well as christian, they are both for dummies.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 You are a joke, go back to finding some more of your undiscovered conspiracy theories. Atheism is about not believing in the impossible super-natural.

  • @lfcscouser2010 Your a fucking retard. Atheism is about being one step higher in the hierarchy of god belief. Except in order to be Atheist you have to not believe in a god. If you know that there is no God why the Hell on Earth do you need a soapbox like Atheism to lift yourself? HUH??? Atheism is much like a MLM ponzi scheme for people who need to bash other people because they have no real direction in life.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 OMG! you have no idea what you are talking about. You really are a complete joke. 'One step higher in the hierarchy of god belief' what bullshit! You clearly have no idea of what you are saying, u pea-brained MORON!

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 Something called freedom of speech. I'm not too sure on what u mean by 'one step higher in the hierarchy of God belief' but all faith has been falsified and proved wrong. If u don't know what atheism is then u won't be able to debate.

  • @SaisenseiStudio Atheism is gay. And it isn't even a science. Tell me how you classify Atheism within the context of any group who share the same ideals or principles. Huh? People form groups because they share something of value to each other. How is "not believing in something a premise for anything??" That's like a group of people forming a group for people who don't like mustard because there was a group that formed before them of people who do like mustard.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 Atheism will always be gay because it is not remotely inventive at all. Like a group of scholars who think that they have chosen the proper position on an age old debate. It is the same as righteousness except you take God out of it and call it something else.People believe in God because they can't face reality alone and yea religion is pretty stupid but I would never form a watchdog group and walk around pompously touting how wrong misguided people are.Dawkins is a wienie

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 I don't understand what inventiveness or lack there of has to do with it. Atheism is simply the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. I'm an atheist because I've not been presented with a shred of evidence supporting the existence of god. I'm not militant about it and don't feel the need to proclaim to everyone I meet. But I do enjoy interacting with like-minded individuals. Oh and I'd refrain calling things "gay". It makes you sound dumber than a bag of hammers.

  • @gigisdad You can't see that you have chosen to believe in a double negative. Atheism is belief that there is no God, or the absence of a belief in a God, yet: without God, real or unreal, there would be no Atheism. You don't Get it and I am sorry. In other words becoming Atheist because you don't believe in God shows that you still lack something in your life and you are trying to find it by joining a group which is just the exact same thing that religious people are doing.

  • @gigisdad Let me finish by saying this; the world can be confusing. Religion gives people a fast and easy way to dislodge the real horror of reality. OK, I understand this, however. What on earth does rejecting God have to do with understanding religion???? NOTHING AT ALL!!!! To understand something is to face it and move on. So you haven't really faced the real issue and that is your need for knowledge to survive, that's what God is to me. Atheism is merely a soapbox for wannabe entrepreneurs.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 Another thing. You said that I'm trying to find what I'm supposedly lacking in my life by joining a group which is the same exact thing as religion? That is of course ridiculous. If I joined a knitting club and wanted to be around other knitters and discuss knitting, is that like religion also? Look..I know I'm not going to change your mind nor are you going to change mine. This banging of ones head against a wall in support of their views is so tired and useless. I am done.

  • @gigisdad What is it with you Atheist and Analogies. You all use the same arguments. Your in a cult. Every Atheist argues the same: And they say it like this "well, that is like saying if i want a cheeseburger without the cheese, so I join a group devoted to cheesless burgers what does that have to do with oranges and apples." You think that there is some invisible boundary between Atheism and Religion but its all in your head. And this rationalizing using analogies of simple daily tasks.CULT

  • @TheAntiFascist2010

The boundary between atheism and religion isn't invisible - it's actually rather obvious once you consider 1) what a religion is (and what a cult is) and 2) what it is that atheists do and do not believe.

It's also funny that you complain about analogies after spouting empty bromides like "Religion is like advertising."

Atheists most certainly don't argue the same thing or even believe the same thing - they share the same view about a single issue.

  • @gigisdad Another thing. There never will be evidence that God exists because God isn't a science like studying paramecium. If God were a science then there would be a hypothesis somewhere. Not unless you are saying that religious text are scientific. Religion is like Advertising. Your in false trilateral with this Atheism thing.

  • @TheAntiFascist2010 All your opinion and of course you're entitled to it. But to say that I'm lacking something in my life because I don't "believe" in god is so self-righteous and is typical of the religious-infected mind and is illustrated in a quote by Bill Maher - "Religion is dangerous because it allows human beings, who don't have all the answers to think that they do".

  • @dirtydonki your a cock if you think that they are proven forgeries.

  • @dirtydonki I dont need to lie to get my point across. Historian all use greco-roman sources to study a historical Jesus. Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius. All wrote about him. Suetonius also wrote to rome in AD50 during the reign of Emperor Claudius saying "there are persistent disturbances at the instignation of christ." I guess he was lying too. In fact maybe he wasnt real and people just made him up just like the did jesus. Get real. Buy a history and stop bumming hitchens.

  • @dirtydonki your the one spreading lies! what about the letter written by pilate to rome teliing of the situation about christ? i guess its good enough for historians but not good enough for you? you just dont want to admit your wrong. You guys are big on logic. so use some! if you new anything you would know that in the political climate of roman judea there were 100s of people claiming to be a messiah of healer. Before and after jesus. So why do you think 1 of them cant be jesus?

  • @dirtydonki liar? lying about what? why cant you accept that historians all over the world believe in a historical Jesus? I should point out that i am not a christion or belong to any religion. I just get so pissed of with people who clearly dont know what there taking about trying to change history because the dont like religion. Jesus, robin hood, king arthur all based on historical fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @dirtydonki rubbish. I have studdied history in edinburgh uni for 4 years and everything i have learned has shown me that there was a historical Jesus. Its just people like you listen to hitchens without looking into it for yourself. What do you no about roman occupied judea? what do you now about history? nothing.

  • @dirtydonki he grew up as a catholic! that doesnt make him one. He didnt go to mass or anything! plus he hated jews......guess what, Jesus was a jew. Does that sound like someone who is truly following christs teaching?

  • Great book TGD,strongly reccomend it.

  • It seems funny that Dr. Dawkins should talk about seeking answers through science (1:06). He hasn't been a working scientist for years. His passion is not investigatory science, but the demise of religion and the promotion of neo-Darwinism. Just look at his most recent books.

Actually, he means INTERPRETING science through evolutionary philosophy, which is a very different thing from doing investigatory science.

  • Darwin was Agnostic. He doesn't believe in Jesus but he also doesn't believe in Evolution.

  • @JamesRideout123 How on earth can you say that Darwin didn't believe in evolution?

  • @PUMKINMANforever Well I have a clip where he says that there might possibly be a higher designer.

  • @JamesRideout123 What? There are no clips of Darwin, he died long before the advent of any forms of video or audio recording. And even if Darwin ever did say that, it really wouldn't imply in any way that he didn't believe in his greatest discovery and contribution to mankind. Are you sure you have checked your sources?

  • @PUMKINMANforever Sorry I meant Dawkins not Darwin my bad.lol.

  • @JamesRideout123 Well I expected as much. Even so, the argument holds no merit. I presume you're talking about that ghastly Ben Stein character who ignored Dawkin's rebuttal to the theory of irreducible complexity because he had mentioned that it was possible (though unlikely) that an advanced alien race had initiated life on earth. Dawkings also said that if one continues down that path, they would have to account for the creation of those aliens just as they would the creation of god.

  • @JamesRideout123 None of this has anything to do with Evolution mind you.

  • @JamesRideout123 what? Darwin didn't believe in Evolution? hahahahahaha Where do you think the theory comes from?

  • @moviemakercool When did I say he didn't believe in Evolution?

  • @JamesRideout123 u said that in a previous comment to someone

  • @moviemakercool Ok I see now well I meant he previously didn't care for Evolution. He used to be a Catholic and go to Bible school. He believed in Evolution but he never denied the existence of a God either. He was Agnostic.

  • @JamesRideout123 well let me put it to you this way, what you're saying is like saying Mr. Hershey didn't care for Hershey's Kisses hahaha there was no evolution before Darwin's time....He wrote a little book called Origin of Species? hmm?

  • @moviemakercool There was lots of Evolution before his time. There was no table etc of Evolution but the idea of it was there way before he came into the picture he just popularized it. It's like saying there was no Hip Hop before Eminem or Michael Jackson.

  • Dawkins will burn in hell... because he don't love Jesus.

  • @sarotran

You would give a gentleman teacher who's harmed nobody the same punishment as Stalin would you?

Meanwhile, you're in heaven with Adolf Hitler (who was a Christian and accepted Jesus) and George Bush - both extremely evil men because of their Christian faith?

  • @jazzx251 Adilf hitler was raised in a "christian" home. He was NOT a christian when he came to power in germany. FACT.

  • @computers734

    FICTION.

As usual, you don't look for evidence to support your claim (because you think you don't need any).

This is the end of his Proclamation to the German Nation in 1933 when he got in:

"Now, people of Germany, give us four years and then pass judgment upon us ...

May God Almighty give our work His blessing, strengthen our purpose, and endow us with wisdom and the trust of our people, for we are fighting not for ourselves but for Germany. " - A. Hitler, Berlin 1933

  • @jazzx251

From the same speech - it couldn't be clearer:

"The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life...."

  • @jazzx251 btw this does not make Hitler a christion. Hitler is talking about the foundation of germany. Plus hitler lied and used propaganda all the time. If you want to know the real hitler you wont find him in his speaches or books. He was building himself up to look like a sort of german messiah.

  • They are the same, in the fact that they are wrong.

Mindless, self-lobotomized christian response: "Because the bible says so"
