Use Punctuation! and yeah the bass riff after the intro is sweet, but the lyrics don't flow perfectly like in Master of puppets, and And Justice for all.. Ya know? Its good but the vocals are too piercing

He blew his voice out doing So What like back in '99. Kind of hard to go back to screaming once you've effed your own vocal chords.
For all we know, after this many years of singing, he either has polyps or nodes that restrict him from properly "singing" or "growling." Granted, it's just speculation, but one would think that if he could scream, he probably would.

Some ace parts in this, and Lars is kicking some serious arse too, and there's some Priest-esque moments from where my ears are, and that's never a bad thing at all as they are the Metal Gods. Looking forward to hearing the album version on release, along with it's 9 other tracks. Rock on ! \m/

The opening guitar riff where it goes to the flattened fifth is similar to "Master of insanity" off the Black Sabbath dehumaiser album, but im looking forward to hearing the new album.

Ive been surfing the other vids and seen how people still slate metallica.fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion,nothing wrong with it.i personally feel that from what ive heard riff wise(&solo) that metallica sound very near to their old stuff, the chugging palm mutes&slanted chords are there,fast tempo bursts are heard here, and the general riff structure.the main thing that is different is the guitar sound,the sharp bite of the gain and distortion isnt like of old..but so what????

i agree with arnjohn. their new albums cant be the same as kill em all and master of puppets because it wouldnt be original evan though this album is a bit closer to old 80s-90s metallica i think its good that they writing songs that are different to their old stuff surely if they kept churning out mop1 2 and 3 evan though that album was amazing people would get bored and wana hear some original music
