  • AWESOME!!

so..how much is this card going to cost?

and do you ship it to Mexico?

  • @lorancamusic - Check Rich's page for answers to those questions and more...

    dreher.net / CFforAppleII

  • What about Locksmith and EDD? Those work too?

  • @Kg277 - If you're trying to make a backup of a protected disk, the CFFA3000 will do as good a job as SST in transferring a nibble image to a .NIB representation. So, to the extent that Locksmith or EDD could make an image transferrable to the outside world via SST, yes, they'll work. Note that .NIB is an inherently "lossy" format, and some information gets lost in the translation. Not everything (and not a lot of things, in my experience) in copy protection are representable in NIB.

  • Couple of questions.

    1) How do you swap floppy disks, like in the middle of game that might ask to flip your disk over.

    2) If you select slot 6 (for floppy emulation) and you have a Disk ][ controller card plugged into slot 6 already, does the CFFA override it?

  • @wickedtothemisty - 1) there's an outboard remote "dongle" being developed that will rotate through disk images in a list. On the IIgs, you can break in with the desk accessory to get to the configuration menu.

    2) I'll have to test that to find out - but I believe the CFFA will lose, and the real Disk ][ will wn.

  • @wickedtothemisty - Update... real answer to 2) is a bus fight. It's indeterminate who would win; it should not be tried.
