@quasiphatpaul They've made the game using the shift engine... They are in the process of making their own engine especially for this game though. Like I said it's pre-alpha. Still at least another year until release.

I have to say the distance the last few builds have made are large enough to make me retract any negative statements. This game will end up being in the A class of racing sims for sure.

Amazing graphics, true. But from the videos I've watched this game's physics look absolutely garbage, like slot cars with way too much grip. rFactor 2 and GTR3 will be the best sims for the next few years!

Your forgeting Asetto Corsa, don't want to break your spirit , but GTR3 and Rf2 will be an updated ISI engine like iRacing is now.And ISI engine is no match for Kunos real time calculated tyre model.

@oR3LENTLE55o Precedent. The likelihood of SimBin developing utterly garbage physics is very low given the quality of their two former titles. The same applies to ISI and rFactor, while rF1 had a bunch of pretty awful mods, when you find a well developed one like GP79 it's a really great racing experience. I've actually spent the last four hours driving in the rF2 beta, it's absolutely amazing. To my eyes, CARS doesn't look anything special, mostly because of the look of it's 'on rails' physics.

@ROONTANG That's because CARS ISN'T special. CARS was sent out to compete with the outdated rFactor 1 and Race 07. SimBin's success with GTR, GTR2 and even Race07 surely confirms that GTR3 will be among the leaders of physics in any simulator invented, even better than iRacing 2.0 as well as rFactor 2. And rFactor 1 did have some bad mods, but then there's the Toyota Supra mod and the Chevy Corvette mod that just gives you an amazing experience. Both rF2 and GT3 will be amazing!
