I am using a free UTAUloid, and I set up everything. Now, the horribbly sad part, It won't sing D: The UTAUloid is Yumi Kyoku. Is it because she is a multi-language UTAUloid?

I have 2 problems

1. When I open my UTAUs folder it doesn't show all of the recordings.

2. I tried to make my UTAU sing and it plays but I don't hear any sound. o-o;;

@xloveangelxpanda What ever file you are trying to reach, whether it's a VSQ, UST, or and UTAU, that means it was moved from the original place. As in the file was moved. So it needs to be re-found.

This is such abig mistake for me to watch!! It won't help! Utau really won't work for me! I tryed to make it english but it didn't work and it's not even Japanese for me! I tryed to make a utauloid but that didn't go so good either becuse it wouldn't use my voice bank! And know my computers got yet another program in it thatI won't use!! PLEASE! Could someone explain to me what's happening?

@MangaxMe You would either have to write them all out as I did with "a" and change the length's of each note and pitch.... or you could use USTs or VSQs you can download. See tutorial 6.

@runewarrior43 You can use the alternate way as I mentioned, using the bar where you can type sounds in. Also, check if there are actually sounds in Defoko's folder and that she is actually loaded.

@DOUGLA192 Is the UTAU you want to sing set? Make sure the icon in the corner is not Defoko. Also, try File--> New then select the UTAU you want to sing. There's some bug that sometimes if you set it from the other menu it doesn't always set the UTAU to sing.

Ugh. Its ridiculous, I was able to perform every single step in the videos but...in the end, when I select the sound from my utau's sound library, and it imports, it clearly shows up but it wont make ANY sound at all D:

Please help if u have any suggestions. Also, Microsoft IME wont let me use hiragana in utau, and I also saved the wavs for my voicebank in kanji. And then edited it to read romaji. But it still wont make a sound, and yes my volume is on. Omg Im so confused >_<

@pacificpower98 First could you check 原音設定(S)　(tools(T)---setting of each wav file) and double click some phonemes to see if they make sound? If they do, you're on the right track. If not, then you should check if you've added the Japanese fonts for your OS (see control panel if you have Windows OS).

Also check if you enclosed your alias wav with double quotation marks? If you want to use for example, 初音.wav for a particular sound, and set an alias "はつね" for it, then you should type in the field with the double quotation marks.

@pacificpower98 Er... how did you type the wav's in kanji...? That's not exactly possible lol. Redownload UTAU for the first problem, and for the second problem turn on the Japanese on-screen keyboard within IME and try pressing a key first, then typing with the keyboard.

change your file name to ....bmp for your character.txt.

hey, so im having troubles on my utau software. first of all, it's not translated in english. for example: the file, edit, search, project, play, tools, help buttons on the top are like ftf@fCf<(F), OW(E), etc. and all those other crappy symbols i couldn't understand about...and it's not japanese. only the shortcut logo is japanese but when you open it, the name on top that says ???????-UTAU(*) instead of 歌声合成ツールUTAU(*). how could i translate the not understandable symbols to english? TT_TT

@YaoiYuriMangaka You're not bugging me at all, don't worry. ^^ You would have to export your song file as shown in the video, and put the singing file and the song you want in the background (i.e. the instrumental) in a sound editor, such as audacity. I am posting audacity tutorials soon, but for now, drag both of the song files into audacity and you should see two sound tracks.

You got your utauloid to sing so clearly! Whether that's because you recorded your own voice or are an expert in audio editing I do not know. I've heard that you need to do quite a bit of editing to get an utauloid to sing smoothly and human-like. Great tutorials, very clear instructions.

By "plug in the lyrics" do you mean using a .vsq or .ust? If not, then you should use spaces when typing in romaji "wa ta shi" to get separate notes. I don't think I mentioned that in the video ^^; And what do you mean "known sounds"? If you have them all recorded, they should all be "known". =3
