Historically, Buddha's figure was different from those Chinese style statues. U can surf on web and u'll see lots of Buddha styles in diverse countries according to each country style.

@MrHkvideo18 I agree with you, but those "dominant" faiths are filled with nothing but lies and corruption, christ collecting charity for the poor; for example, some of the charity does not even go to the poor it goes into the pockets of who collected it. This is what I call unfaithfulness and most of them downgrade and criticize all other religion that contradicts their beliefs for example the belief in science(some have accepted science now), and other faiths like muslim, Buddhism, Wica, etc.

all and what I am saying (has nothing to do with Islam) is that Sidartha lived a very extreme lifestyle which lead directly to his enlightenment. It was only after failing at these methods that enlightenment was achieved, none the less the Path was Extremism although he taught moderation. I like reading the comments too. I'm new at Buddhism teaching..but not new to religions of the world. Buddhism will offer me a chance to tear down spiritual barriers and feel like an astronaut in a weightless journey that has a beginning but no ending.

@weltball I think it is Wel. It is attractive to me because it is a compilation of wisdom's and only you can choose how to use them in your life. It is free of religious dogma and passes the test of being questioned. Meaning that for each lesson, I can rationally explain how the lesson works & benefits all. It doesn't seek to indoctrinate others. It doesn't force me to accept things without proof & reason. It has been very helpful to me.
If anyones concern is enlightenment/salvation he/she should listen teachings of Buddha,test the teaching of Buddha and follow the teaching of Buddha (iff satisfied)

Common mistakes made by most of Buddhists, chanting is just a way to cultivate one's loving kindness and to quench one's thirst (greediness). The main Buddha's teaching is to practice meditation. It is the way to reach equanimity, it is the only way to obtain enlightenment. Vice versa, chanting helps to improve one's concentration on meditation as well. I hope everyone get this clear.

@sskhaw91 there are different modes of meditation chanting is one of them I wont say its a mistake. for meditation you need peace and quiet environment if you are always on the move or traveling or environment of excessive noise chanting as a method can be used for meditation.

I love this. It reminds me of the videos about Jesus I watched as a kid. I am a Christian and I also love the Buddha and the teachings of Buddhist practice. I believe that when you get to the heart of what Jesus and Buddha tought they were of the same Holy Spirit. Can you really see the Christ and the Bubbha sitting down for a conversation together and not being of one mind? Its a shame that mans instatutions have segragated us into different "religions". We are spirits, souls that tavel trough time, space. There is a spiritual world where we don't need bacteria to live. We've proven that spiritualism is stronger than our carnal life. Therefore, however life begain or how it would end, theres much more than just life it self we are connected with another dimention that is letting us know this truth that we all speak of. Buddhism is known as 'The Middle Way.' As you practice letting go, you realize that you stop making judgments. What I mean is you see life as it really is. There is Islam, there is Christianity; what Buddhism revealed to me was something that was not in any BOOK. That you don't have to accept dogmas to know peace. You are sort of aware of these Dogmas, but not attached. See them for what they really are. Whatever you find within yourself is for you to contemplate. So far that is peace to me.

Buddhism is not a point of view but a method; meditation. Therefore it cannot be a religion. Yes, I've been meditating for over twenty years. It is the way out of suffering and attachments. Peace.
The purpose of a Buddhist's life is to attain enlightenment. Once a Buddhist attain enlightenment, he is in a blissful mental state. It is eternal and he will not suffer anymore. He will not be reborn anymore. There will not be anymore new kamma but just the old. The mental state is in its purest form as he has eradicate greed, hatred and delusion. There's no more attachment . Who needs god?

@MrHkvideo18 I agree with you, but those "dominant" faiths are filled with nothing but lies and corruption, christ collecting charity for the poor; for example, some of the charity does not even go to the poor it goes into the pockets of who collected it. This is what I call unfaithfulness and most of them downgrade and criticize all other religion that contradicts their beliefs for example the belief in science(some have accepted science now), and other faiths like muslim, Buddhism, Wica, etc.

all and what I am saying (has nothing to do with Islam) is that Sidartha lived a very extreme lifestyle which lead directly to his enlightenment. It was only after failing at these methods that enlightenment was achieved, none the less the Path was Extremism although he taught moderation. If Sidartha was a moderate person he would not of achieved. this is my opinion based on my own experience

@weltball I think it is Wel. It is attractive to me because it is a compilation of wisdom's and only you can choose how to use them in your life. It is free of religious dogma and passes the test of being questioned. Meaning that for each lesson, I can rationally explain how the lesson works & benefits all. It doesn't seek to indoctrinate others. It doesn't force me to accept things without proof & reason. It has been very helpful to me.

If anyones concern is enlightenment/salvation he/she should listen teachings of Buddha,test the teaching of Buddha and follow the teaching of Buddha (iff satisfied)
Buddha was always sure of human capacitiy to find his own enligthenment.Food is always there in your plate but you urself have to make an effort to eat that.Buddha is a guide and person has to walk the road himself.Buddha said "Be the light unto yourself"

Common mistakes made by most of Buddhists, chanting is just a way to cultivate one's loving kindness and to quench one's thirst (greediness). The main Buddha's teaching is to practice meditation. It is the way to reach equanimity, it is the only way to obtain enlightenment. Vice versa, chanting helps to improve one's concentration on meditation as well. I hope everyone get this clear.

I love this. It reminds me of the videos about Jesus I watched as a kid. I am a Christian and I also love the Buddha and the teachings of Buddhist practice. I believe that when you get to the heart of what Jesus and Buddha tought they were of the same Holy Spirit. Can you really see the Christ and the Bubbha sitting down for a conversation together and not being of one mind? Its a shame that mans instatutions have segragated us into different "religions". I don't even like the word "religion"..

Buddhism is known as 'The Middle Way.' As you practice letting go, you realize that you stop making judgments. What I mean is you see life as it really is. There is Islam, there is Christianity; what Buddhism revealed to me was something that was not in any BOOK. That you don't have to accept dogmas to know peace. You are sort of aware of these Dogmas, but not attached. See them for what they really are. Whatever you find within yourself is for you to contemplate. So far that is peace to me.

The purpose of a Buddhist's life is to attain enlightenment. Once a Buddhist attain enlightenment, he is in a blissful mental state. It is eternal and he will not suffer anymore. He will not be reborn anymore. There will not be anymore new kamma but just the old. The mental state is in its purest form as he has eradicate greed, hatred and delusion.
