Great video. I took a similar trek to the hills and took a ride on the elephants. The hill tribe people are so interesting and calm. Im sure ill be posting more reminiscent comments as I make my way through your vid's. Sorry in advance, haha. Man I gotta get me some of that sillems Black, its a hot ticket item i guess, hard to get. Patients will pay I hope.
@Baccybandit I think you'll dig the Sillem's Black once you try it. Keep an eye out for it always comes round and don't settle on the others Red, Blue etc. Black is the one you want. Always glad to hear about other peoples experiences here in Thailand. Hope you cant get back sometime. Thanks for watching.
It's probably the best way to see this kind of terrain, on an elephant. Let the Elephant worry about the walking, treking in this kind of wilderness is nothing to them.
@thewr0ngchild Haha, The elephant trek was definitely an unforgettable experience! Seeing a tiger or two would have been great, but I'm not sure if the elephant would have freaked out or ran after the tiger with me on it! haha. They really go at there own pace and do what they want along the way. Hope you get to have the chance to see some in the wild. Thanks for stopping by!
@LudgerSylbaris Thank you for watching! The downtown are has grown quite a bit, but the outlying areas are still nice. Hope you get a chance to come back.
I've only just got around to catching up with this video. Absolutely excellent stuff! I remember doing an elephant trek once and I found it terrifying! haha
@jataylor888 Man James, I was scared to death! All I could think of was this elephant falling off the path and rolling over us and being crushed to death. I was hell bent to make a vid though haha.
@astroman2112 very doubtful that would happen. If you were in tiger country you were a damn sight safer on the elephant than not on him lol. It's also a brilliant way to observe tigers in the wild, I really hope I get the chance one day!
@jataylor888 Thanks for watching James, You need to get out here sometime mate! Yeah, I was actually pretty terrified at the time haha! I just kept thinking of this damn elephant falling off the edge and crushing my mom and I while rolling down the mountain lol.
Wow what an awesome video....and to see the hackert pipe...I feel honored....How lucky are you to be surrounded by such beautiful countryside and beautiful people...Loved it......Jake and Nancy

@NorthGeorgiaPipe Haha, Thats funny you mention maps. In the 5th grade or so I was crazy about getting National Geo mags just for the maps. I had a stack of maps like a couple feet high! Map nerd I guess. Came in handy I guess, probably a big reason I traveled so much. haha.
@beans316 Hey Beans! Thanks for the comments! Yeah, Jake Hackert... the Official pipe for elephant trekking! hahaha I gotta get caught up on some YouTube vid's. I think I saw you had a Hackert pipe come in recently? You'll dig it.
