  • I really don't know why people say it's Simon who pushes whereas he hits harder than Dimitrov in that point...

  • lol at the top

    dim

    sim DIMSIM YEAH

  • Grigor wanna play like Rog i think,he should improve his game

  • @hykha02 Yes...by a factor of a hundred if he has any chance of seriously being compared to Fed.

  • Grigor's ok, but I don't think he'll be the next big guy. He's been doind great in challengers, but he hasn't had any big wins on the tour and he just hasn't made his mark yet. He's behind the group of Tomic, Harrison, and Raonic.

  • @Rafathaman94 Harrison ? really??, sorry, but i won't put Harrison in Tomic, Raonic, or Dimitrov group, Harrison hasn't given anything better than Dimitrov last year..he is far below the other three (okey, maybe Tomic and Raonic are a little bit better than Dimitrov)

  • @gerhyuga I disagree. Overall Harrison has been better than Dimitrov. He has beaten a couple of top 20 players and he gave Mardy Fish a good run in the US Open series. Harrison, Tomic, and Raonic have all made an impact on the tour. Raonic has beaten top 20 players, won his first title, and made the AO 4R. Tomic beat Davydenko and Soderling in Wimbledon in addition to making the QF giving Djokovic a good run. Dimitrov hasn't done any of that. Until he does, he can't be in this group.

  • joke rally

  • that was one boring rally, i prefer serve and volley over that style of play seriously

  • thumb up if u dont count the shots

  • I kept waiting for a drop shot after about 8 hits and then I remembered Federer wasn't playing...

  • that was great but when dimitrov had simon in the corner hitting cross court 2X he had the whole court open for the inside forehand winner! Still he's learning and is a great talent

  • My father is a friend of his father i believe that very soon Grigor will be in top 10!!

  • after about the 15th shot i'd probably think f this and go for a winner

  • thumbs up if you counted the rally ^^

  • I really like how all these fights about tennis end in someone going "na uh I've been playing tennis since xx years old and have xx experience suck that don't say stuff before you know" like they're gonna have proof or the other person is gonna say "oh my he obviously knows more than me now I'm so wrong.

  • And they did it all on the most obnoxious distracting court imaginable.

  • @dud321xyz and the fact you think serve and volley is boring says it all. You must be 14 and have just began watching tennis in 2010 and think you know it all.

  • @dud321xyz You obviously didn't see the Federer match in Canada where he was spraying errors like there was no tomorrow, UNFORCED ERRORS. And at the TMC he had a back problem, where his movement was completely laboured. In the AO match he was far from his best but still won. Federer was far from his prime in any of those matches. More UE's than winners in any match? Too funny. Technology was pitiful, when? Players are still using 15 year old rackets, technology hasn't improved in decades.

  • @MaratSafinVideos

lol hater, Simon played really well at the MC 2008 especially in the third set with 3 winners to break Federer for example and at the OA with more 50 winners...

  • Grigor Dimitrov is awesome he plays tennis in the same style like Roger Federer!!! I hope that he can become so successful too. I love this kind of playing tennis. He has so much potencial I hope he can enter the top20 perhaps the top 10 soon. If you look at his strokes he can accomplish it. Best wishes from Germany

  • not pusher guys.. consistency and concentration

  • The net is your friend.

  • Simon has got a great feeling by his strokes he is a top10 player but he isn´t mentally so strong.

Dimitrov is a great talent and so young!!! I think he is a upcoming top 10 player perhaps top5. Greets from germany

  • Many pro's can hit the ball 47 times to eachother at 40% pace, mostly crosscourt...

  • I'm sick of all you idiot throwing around the word 'pusher'. He's not a fucking pusher, you just think that anybody who doesn't try to end the rally before 10 shots is a pusher. Shut up.

  • @VTrhythm I know, right?! to be fair if I could 'push' my way to top 10 I would take it any day..and all the people say that he's a pusher probably can't stay in a rally with him for more than 5 shots.

  • @VTrhythm

    This

Bunch of idiots who understand nothing about tennis.

  • what a shit crowd

  • Dimitrov is pretty much a pusher who thinks he is Federer

  • @gg2000gg2000 WTF IS WRONG WITH U PEOPLE< HE ISNT A PUSHER OF THE BALL, ha has alot of fukn talent, u slant eyed fucking moron, pusher of the ball, jesus who the fuck do u think u are

  • Ok, you´re right. But can you say, that Simon or Dimitrov has played at his limit in this rally. None of them deployed any high-spin angle shot, and of course none of them attacked the net.

  • Long rally means just one thing. Both players are afraid, or they are unable to get the opponent under pressure and to dictate the game.

If youre good, you dont need 47 bals to get the point.

  • @kriklan49 Federer and Hewitt played a 41 point rally. Dare I say those two are very good players and neither were afraid. That theory doesn't hold up krik... sorry.

  • @kriklan49 So your saying Federer and Hewitt aren't good? ROFL

  • Virtua tennis-esque dive at the end.

  • dimitrov has an awesome footwork

  • WOW pusher city

    barf

  • well that might be the most boring long rally ive seen 47 shots and no one even seriously attempted to win the point

  • wow...pro level pushers

  • grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind

  • I so want to see the first Federer/Dimitrov match!

  • zzzzzzz

  • if pong was translated into real life tennis, i'd imagine it'd look something like this

  • Try putting some of those moonballs in Federer's strike zone and see how long the rally lasts.

  • Ever heard of chip and charge?

  • Dimitrov needs to work on his footwork

  • It's amazing how the crowd kept shut during the rally. Props to them.

  • with simon it's very tactical, i understand amateurs find his game boring

btw he's not a "pusher" (there are no "pushers" on the pro circuit, it's impossible) but a counter-puncher, like murray

  • @yagIourt lolz "counter-puncher" is just a nicer, more eloquent way of saying pusher. Ill have to say that while there are no pure "pushers" on the pro circuit, there are definitely players who utilize pushing in their games to the point you might as well call them a pusher.

  • @Yurtledaturtle6

"pusher" is just a more easy term for those who doesn't understand what is counter-attacking

  • @yagIourt gay

  • @Airpower085

why american people have a problem with homosexuality, and sexuality in general ?

  • @yagIourt I was thinking pushers are lame

  • @Airpower085

ok, "lame" is more appropriate or a tennisman's game ^^

but simon is not lame, i hope you'll see this WE (even if he probabliy will lose against nole)

  • if you bought the tickets and if you ever got to see this kind of tennis just for a minute...i believe your money's worth!!

  • I'm french but I don't really like Simon, he has a really boring game, a bit like Murray, but not as good as him.

  • that was the most boring rally ever

  • soon to be no. 1

  • the most boring 47 shot rally ever.

  • Meeen it's such a chess game! Your psicology must be hard as a rock to stay in a rally like this! GG!

  • Dimitrov se laisse souvent tomber ... il tient pas sur ses jambes

  • lol this is how not to play tennis... standing behind the baseline, and just banging it back and forth... wheres the net game guys?!?!?

  • ok if you really need to watch this in 240 you NEED a new internet service provider -.-

  • Simon - the most boring player in the Tour ;)

  • @qbeckki --' Gilles Simon is a good player!

  • @qbeckki if he is the most broing player, how about murray??

  • That's the problem is you get two baseline pushers....

  • gilles simon GOAT!!!!!

  • @maximilian533 Right!

  • really good rally

  • How is this kid doing in the rankings? Is he making progress?

  • Hes currently ranked 327th in the world

  • its crazy how professinals hit a 1 second groundstroke

  • In the end, it's not about the style. It's about the work you put in, and the 'W' next to your name. If you can't beat someone that's pushing, then you don't deserve to get in the next round (not only talkin bout fed, applies to everyone).

Laughing about someone's style is like making fun of the nerd. Sure, you make him feel like shit now, but who's gonna be making six figures in twenty years? and who's gonna be the custodian in twenty years?

If ya get the W, your style doesn't matter.

  • Awesome talent and maturity. Doesn't strike me as a 17 year old at all.

  • dimitrov's playing style is very mature

  • Glad he's out of the top 10. Why is it the Fed has losing H2Hs against pushers? Murray AND Simon?!

  • you cant beat federer by pushing thats impossible

  • Well Fed has yet to exact revenge on Simon and he has a losing H2H against Murray, that says something.

  • 2things:

    1st.He's getting old (it's a fact)

2nd. He just hates them both! He said once in an interview on Murray that it isn't the way to play tennis by waiting for the opponent to miss... and so he is irritated ^^

  • look at the arm extension on dimitrov's backhand. my arm would break off if i tried that.

  • omg lol this kid looks exactly like Safin at this year's australian

  • Is Dimitrov better than Bhambri or Harrison??

  • yes

  • Pushers paradise.

  • you're right

    simon is a pusher

  • @MaratSafinVideos Then I bet this pushed you over your seat

  • @MaratSafinVideos which 1?

  • @MaratSafinVideos Are you fucking kidding me? just because they didn't go for a winner after 10 shots your calling them pushers? And who the fuck are you to call the world ranked number seven a pusher? I bet your a shit player who would never score a game off either of these players.

  • @taylor9521 Oh sorry, just re-watched the clip. Definitely reminiscent of epic indoor contests such as Becker and Lendl and that epic between Kuerten and Sampras in Lisbon. Such intent in each and every shot...

  • @taylor9521 And I bet your a pusher : )

  • @XxCallofDutyManiacxX Nope, I am the number one varsity singles player at my high school and 3rd in my state, hop off fat faggot. You suck at tennis and COD nuff nuff.

  • @MaratSafinVideos Pushers don't exist past the 5.0 level.

  • @darthnozo How naive.

  • @MaratSafinVideos idiot.

  • @spacecowboy95 Ohhhh, someone got his feelings hurt. Awww, bless.

  • @MaratSafinVideos tennis is a game of errors

  • @spacecowboy95 How old are you? If you think tennis is a game of errors, you're wrong. It seems today that with the sad state of affairs with slow, homogenized courts and the inability to attack that the more defensive player has an advantage however here in Marseille is a reasonably fast indoor court, I'm sorry but this is pushing.

  • you dont think tennis is a game of errors? im not stating that as opinion mate. its a fact. take a look at the last ten pro matches youve watched and count the ratio between winners and unforced errors and youl know what im talking about. jack kramer, bill tilden, andre agassi have ALL made this exact same point.

its insecure dummies like you who want to show off their tennis cocks who make statements about other people playing air tight tennis. if you never made an error, youd win wimbledon.

  • @MaratSafinVideos oh. and just for good measure. i stole that last quote about winning wimbledon from a little known bloke called arthur ashe.

  • @MaratSafinVideos mhmh lucky thers hardhitters

  • in australia even is talking about tomic. hes a top five junior, he won his first round match at aus open. i reckon this guy would smoke him.

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit safin's using a one handed backhand!!

    KIDDING, JUST KIDDING

  • You know you're going to be in some boring, long rallies like this when you play against a pusher like Simon.

  • When you play tennis don't you have to push the ball to get it over?

  • well, this kid plays similar to federer and gasquet and all of those kid of people, except he looks calm out there, federer wasn't calm until he won his first GS - he was angry.

  • because he knew he was dam amazing and better than the rest lol, id be pissed if i was federer and lost a match

  • but he wasn't better than the rest until he became #1

  • doesnt quite have the speed or variety of federer yet, or the unique topspin uncoil of gasquet... he reminds me more of wawrinka with his solid flat backhand

  • No, but he will learn variety when he matures. Gasquets topspin shots aren't really spectacular.

  • I love Gilles but Grigor is my countrymate so i support him too and i can say that this rally was awesome !! i have seen that match and it was great !! =] both of them are great !!

  • you should support grigor alot because bulgaria dosent have many big tennis names especially in the men

  • Go gilles!

  • Wow, from this clip that's a great one handed backhand. Great slicing and great depth.

  • great rally but too bad the point was finished off by simon hitting a error and not a winning shot

  • GO GRIGOR

  • wow! Awesome rally... Thanks for uploading.

  • 2nd!

  • 1st !
