Actually they say the PG-13 F bomb twice. the stoned hippy and the carry kid who likes to blow things up. both were in the bus scene. carry was stuck to the seat and the stoned hippy was kinda in shock. anyway, "What The Fuck?"

You know in Independence Day, the aliens were defeated with a computer virus? Well in this, it was defeated by the power of love. Seriously, watch the movie with that in mind. It will make sense to you.

@horamerda2 No, I got the point of the movie, even what the ending was trying to say. I'm just saying it was one of those endings that don't ruin the movie by any means, but you kinda sit there and go, "huh...".

I didn't hate the movie though, and I meant the "defeated by the power of love" more as a joke. Still it was more solid of an ending than Star Trek (New timeline + in the past + two Spocks standing right in front of each other = Even by sci-fi logic, this doesn't make sense

I liked the action but I thought a lot of it was fairly shitty. For example I found the kids fucking annoying, and they didn't really explain certain things such as why all the stuff started attracting to the water tower at the end and also why the army all of a sudden decided to stop shooting at the monster. Maybe Im missing something but I found a lot of stuff just didn't make sense.

Anyone fancy clearing some of the plot holes up for me?

The town they filmed Super 8 in was very close to me, and I was an extra in the movie. Amazing experience watching the actors work, watching JJ, and also acting in it with a bunch of other kids. It definitely reminds me of Goonies and Stand By Me- kid wise.

@nickab88 Lol, I never said Star Trek was the ONLY good film of '09, just ONE of the only good ones, and it was a huge shocker for me since I have NEVER liked Star Trek, I've always been a Star Wars guy, and I actually did try watching the tv series too, I didn't just go along with the bashing just to feel cool, so with respect to Trekkies from the classic days, and even to The Next Generation days, Star Trek 2009 is the only piece of the series that exists in my opinion.

I thought "Super 8" was very average. Not as superb as those who loved it boast about. The best, key scene was the awesome, spectacular train crash. After that, it's a kid's horror film. Thought the fat kid was annoying and not funny. Kids who have a foul mouth need to get smacked upside the head. The creature looked like the original cartoon version of "The Transformers". I will not be buying this for my DVD/Blu-Ray collection. Maybe if it shows up in the .99 cents bargain bin. Maybe. C+

J.J. Abrams is proof that a director can show his passion for film through his movies. This masterpiece of a movie shows how much of a film fan Abrams is. And thats why we see movies in the first place, right? Because we're film fans. And if we see a movie directed by a film fan who truly loves film, than it should mean a lot to us fans. Super 8 is one of the most important movies ever made and I fail to understand how someone can dislike it (not Jeremy, but some of the commenters).
