I went through this last Sunday so I'm laughing my ass off right now. I love Ghetto K, it was worth standing in line for that outdoor table I bought on clearance for $50. lol
I occasionally go through this at Kmart so this video makes me laugh, I have patience while in line and this happens because usually I am the asshole that brings up the item without the barcode. Then the cashier has to make the lighted number blink while she walks down to the phone on the last checkout lane to call the department, usually it takes five mins or more for the department to call back . That is if the cashier doesn't have to try to call the dept again. Sorry people behind me! LOL
I try my best to have a smile on my face and check people out the best, most efficient way that I can. Some customers just want to pay for their stuff and get out. Retail can be really challanging and you have to really like people. Sure some can be challanging but for the most part they are a joy to work for.
In all honesty, some customers deserve this treatment with how rude they can be toward us cashiers. For example, weekends are absolutely insane at my kmart that I work at. I try to move as fast as I can, but I can only move so fast. Yet I'll have people huffing and puffing in my line, arms crossed and acting all PO'd even though I am trying my absolute best to be quick with everyone. So it's like, you know what, maybe I ought to just not care at all and do like the above video. Thatd show em hah
@Sallyallie89 Do you have your shop your way rewards card? Do you have one? Would you like to sign up for one? Can I put this on your sears charge? Would you like to donate to a charity? Would you like to keep your hangers? So many questions....Oh, you need to answer the survey before you can slide your card. I am so glad we don't have to ask for paper or plastic! LOL!
@thomesocksup Omg, I can't stand all the questions we have to ask customers. I just tell people "I'm sorry, it's just part of my job to ask" because some people think it's all me, but it's not. I just do it to keep my job because a girl was once fired on the spot for not asking all the required questions. I once had a man though who said "All I want is the razor!" And I was like "Ok, do you want to dona--" ... "NO! JUST THE RAZOR!!" lmao ... he was so pissed off at all the questions
@boxlove11 hey now. There is. We just have to squeeze that in with all the questions required of us to ask. You can make it fun for yourself and the customer. But can't say there isn't customer service. Or maybe I shall clarify with perhaps satisfaction along with that. I was able to get a reduction on a large concrete mouse that I chipped trying to find the upc on the bottom to scan.
They needed a random "Boop Boop! SERVICE IS NEEDED IN LAYAWAY!" over a speaker to really make it feel like you were in line at Kmart.
