  • Carl's loops on everyone is brought to you by Guiles theme gos with everything

  • I have seen Japanese video showing you how to get out of this depending on who your playing as. He did it with everyone but Hakumen and Rachel.

  • Anyone know how to do the arakune loop? I can't remember if it was CT or CS that it worked it.

  • is this possible in CS?

  • @GarredHATES

no, sorta. You can do a shorter version and it's not infinite.

  • Ahh it's the Ice Climbers!!! O_O

  • back in the day, when life was simple and all you needed to know was throw and 8d

  • something wrong with sound?

  • @H2Omazing its super out of synch

  • Oh my god.

Just started getting into this game and I've already forund two eerily similar things about this and SSBB.

Ganondorf and Tager- Debatably the most manly characters, both lowest tier.

Carl and ICs- Two fighters in one, both have infinite combos that take incredible skill. Both even involve grabbing... o_o

  • @LemonOfSilence I say Captain Falcon is manlier.

And also, Jin is the spitting image of Marth btw. There's even a color scheme that looks like him :P

  • @xceis CF and Bang are manly, but I personally like Ganon and Tager better.

I can mentally see Jin driving his Icecar while wearing a tiara... Lol.

  • @LemonOfSilence I don't remember Bang being considered manly. I guess he could but yeah :P

    Lol tiara XD

  • The point is neither that this requires a lot or little skill to do. The point is exploits and infinites in games are a sign of bad balancing. Even SNK stopped putting infinites into their KoF games and they were notorious for bad balancing. It's especially bad when an infinite combo is the only thing keeping a really crappy character out of shit tier.

But then again...it is ArcSys we're talking about. Ky had an infinite in p. much every Guilty Gear. As did every other character...

  • i hate that annoying little fuck

  • Thats a bitch combo ppl actually claim that this is skill? the stupid thing is it can kill a person without stopping. I've escaped it once or twice but it is really frustrating to do. Hope they patch this in CS

  • @unavaliable2 It's like snaking in WaW. The snaking trick allowed you to exploit a animation glitch which allowed you to slide on your belly like a snake give you near invulnerability. However only pros could do it because it was so difficult to do. You could go into a private match and practice for hours and only manage a half second snaking animation at the end while pros could do it for a full 3 -5 seconds. People only bitch about what they cant do. :P

  • @tehlawlcat I don't play carl so no I can't do it but if you got carl that can do this shit the why can't everyone else? I'm not bitch'n about anything just fight a fair match instead of mashing is that to much to ask if your a pro why use something lie this?

  • @unavaliable2 lol, Don't get me wrong. I'm anything but pro at this game. I'm saying you don't have worry about this loop because very few people can pull this off successfully and if they can successfully pull this off they probably deserve to win.

  • @tehlawlcat and put a cap on other pros oh well It's cool you gotta make a mistake for this combo to happen anyway

  • litchi's part in the video was easily the best segment regarding this vid :))

  • nee-san, osoi desu yo

    nee-san, osoi desu yo

    nee-san, osoi desu yo

    nee-san, osoi desu yo

    My brain hurts now.

  • Hell yeah, first time I found out about this loop was also the first time I figured how to get out of it. Loops don't scare Hakumen xP

  • @DaRkXyStEr Shit yeah. Hakumen is one of those "snake in the grass" characters, very few things work on him... Except for V-13....

  • @TaurusType Lol, true that, V-13 wrecks the shit outta him if you don't know the matchup, and just wrecks him when you do know it, lol

  • annoying

  • the point of carl is teamwork , and combos with his puppet . just because u lost to his infinite combo doesnt mean hes noob , it just means that u better dun fight carl if u dun want to hate carl .

  • opponent could counter grab that first one...

  • hmmm they need to nerf this moves and do sumting bout it

  • Infinites are unfair..

  • Playing as Carl is unfair.. :P

That's why I love this infinite.

    Just saying...

  • Infinite combos are discusing. They're the reason l never play fighting games online, or against other people in general anymore. Always gotta be some jerk who runs it for everyone else by figuring out the infinite combos.

Just once l'd like to see a fighting game with NO infinite loops or cheap shit in general.

  • @solitarylonewolf Street Fighter 4....

  • Yeah but SF4 makes up for that with Zangief and his insanely cheap spinning piledriver, with ridiculously long grabbing range, and stupid damage.

  • @solitarylonewolf Ha ha, good point sir. I have to say he is frustrating. Gief has to be played against completely different. Zoning is the key with Gief.

  • I'll have to learn this zoning technique..

  • @solitarylonewolf lol, seriously though.. don't get to close and just poke him when he attacks.

  • I bought SF4 and sold it on ebay the next day because Gief pissed me the hell off.

Doesn't his flaming fist move have crazy priority or something? I remember him owning me with that from half a screen away.

  • @solitarylonewolf That fist can be beat out with my Guile's back fierce or crouch medium kick, Zangief is not even the most unbalanced character in that game. He is just harder because you have to fight him differently than most characters.

  • Aw well. I'll just have to keep playing SF3 on Dreamcast until SSF4 comes out. I'm pumped for Juri.. she looks awesome.

  • "Everyone" doesn't include Hakumen, Rachel, or Carl?

  • They can escape the loop.

Hakumen can throw break and j.D.

Rachel can throw break and Sylpheed out.

Carl can throw break and (I forget lol).

  • That's so ridiculous that it cemented my notion of never touching this game. Shame on the developers. What kind of a persona is "Carl" anyway? Sounds bland.

  • I agree... games with infinite loops are not "legitimate" fighting games as far as online play goes. Unless infinite loops are or combos are limited, there should be no online play.

Carl is a child magician with a hat and cape, and he's extremely weak. His strength comes from the doll he controls, so all his fights are basically 2 on 1.

  • Rachel might be able to escape...and I'm not just saying that because she is my main!

  • ugh. bb is basically slow gg except dumbed down...i got to my same level in gg in less than a week at this game.

  • And you know what pisses me off?

There is a kind of early "skill cap" which I'll try to explain.

For example, for someone playing BB for let's say 6 months, he/she can be easily defeated with someone who's been playing for a week or two...

No matter how hard you train, there is always this low skill cap >_>

  • @Sekundes666 yeah i dunno with BB all you have to do to "win" is either abuse the hell out of a loop, try and play a character differently than how they're supposed to be played. or just slow your thinking down from GG level. cuz i mean I'm on a winning streak at this game all becasue i played GG for an hour before hand. the low skill cap i think is just to make it so everyone can play...which they do..half the people that lose to me online have never played GG. :/

  • Prepare to have a massive rate down! hehe

  • hahaha yeah..ah well the rate down let's me know that they're butthurt XD plus it also lets me know i'm right :] well that and the enormous amounts of wins i rack up online. lol.

  • online play is meaningless, and saying that bb has a low skill cap just means you play shitty people all day.

  • like you? haha joking of course. Online play is actually pretty fun, takes the whole arcade feel of challenging anyone but makes it easier, only thing I like about BB over GG. I only play people that seem "better" than me, mainly cuz I can handle those people and I'm better than them already I just choose not to play this game that much. so before you decide to comment, think next time. p.s. successful troll is successful.

  • umad

  • lol. you used it at the wrong time....technically speaking I shoulda said that since I'm the one trolling :/

  • You thinking you're good at bb is troll enough.

  • if that's the case half of the youtube vids related to blazblue are all trolls then. keep replying though I like watching my puppets dance. :P

  • You're one of those things.. whats the word, oh. Newfags.

  • haha newfags talk about you know what outside of you know what.

  • newfags say you know what instead of 4chan

  • this looks more like a chain grab....

  • i never understood this game, but could play the hell out of gg.... i need help lol

  • ok, i can kinda understand you, i love both games, but blazblue has a much higher learning curve, it seems mindless at first but it really depends on wat character, jin is ridiculously easy to use and freezes people, the games problem is its unbalanced, other than that it coulda been just as great as GG, not better by a longshot but still good

  • isnt possible to just throw escape?

  • Yes, but them you take the Clap attack and Carl is positioned to do another combo (crouching heavy). And that combo leads back into the throw/clap combo. So it is pretty much inescapable.

  • yes this video is a load of bollox.

you could escape this 1000 times.

  • I find people bitching about Carl's loop to be funny. Have you ever tried pulling it off in an actual match? It is VERY difficult! I'm not even a Carl player but I've tried the clap loop and I couldn't do it in an actual battle.

  • I wouldn't say it's the move itself but that most people have to rely on it to win and that it's near inescapable. A very poor gameplay mechanic, glad they changed Carl around so he can't do this anymore.

  • And I thought the Ice Climbers were annoying.

  • lol BB broken? If you wanna see broken try MvC2. Easily the most unbalanced fighter ever xD

  • lol yea mvc2 is very unbalanced

  • Not even close.

Shaq Fu, for instance, is much more unbalanced.

  • First of all @ Piper, you're an idiot. Carl's shit is cheap as fuck, and sometimes it's not as easy as not getting caught. I'm pretty good at not getting caught, but who cares. There ARE such a thing as good players who don't hoe out the loop. Fucking bitches. Learn how to fight furreal, jeez. Fucking noobs.

  • We're talking Blazblue.

You generally have to get him in only 3-4 combos compared to his 2, keeping in mind the fact that he has slow, punishable pokes, no decent anti air without nirvana, no options on wakeup.

Yeah he does have good options, a kara cancel, Alle~can instant overhead, and boss mixup with Nirvana, but He's not outright broken.

I'm not saying the loop isn't cheap, infinites generally are, but it's still fair game.

  • lol wow thats so sick! poor letchi fey though, being looped continuously 3 times without having to jump up. That's basically no escape. I mean at least with the other characters it looks like u can break out of it lol.

  • infinte wow

  • I agree with you jazzplaya, but let's be honest, BB is not nearly as broken as other fighting games and is probably one of the most balanced out there. Many fighting games have multiple loops and matchups that are around 80/20. BB has one loop, that takes an advanced player to master (master being the keyword here) and the worst matchup is Nu/ Tager, which really isn't that bad.

But i'll guarantee that even if CS may help to balance and fix issues, people will find something to complain about.

  • The Carl/Tager match up is about 9.2/.8 whereas nu/tager is about 7/3. Tager just can't fight a carl that knows what they are doing.

  • The thing about these tier lists and matchup statistics is that they only matter in the highest form of play and sometimes the earliest form of play. We're talking tournament finals with players from around the world or spamming moves.

Anyways these are the matchups as of 9/16/09

    Tager/Carl = 2/8

    Tager/Nu = 3/7

  • all you have to do is tech that grab, easy to break.

  • None of them are trying to recover.

  • The stun time is there long enough not to let you recover <_<

  • Don't be a scrub and learn how to play? learn how to block and tech out and it really isn't spam friendly at all.

  • I love how you and people always come up with an excuse for why they suck at a game. BB is one of the most balanced games out right now and if you are calling it broken, i wonder how you would react to *real* broken games.

  • 1st of all, Ragna, Carl, Hakumen, and Rachel all have the ability to break out of a successful clap loop.

2ndly, If a player learns Carl and the loop, can successfully get you in it, and maintain it, then they deserve to win with it. Also you deserve to lose for getting yourself trapped in it.

3rdly, don't call me a kid when obviously your elitist insulting is as immature as your actual argument. I could barely understand what you're trying to argue, it's not hard to type with grammar.

  • Only pussies who have no skill would say it's a noob combo.

  • A burst would work but once it's used up and you get caught in the loop again your screwed :P lol

  • that can be canceled by grabbing. lolz

  • if the carl player knows what theyre doing they can keep you in there even after you grab break.

  • That is why when you break from grab, you do different move after grab break.. keep them guessing. There only two option really, use burst or break grab.. or else your toast. i haven't personally played anyone that uses carl's loop. so i can't really tell you anything. i'm basing this by observation. i use jin and rachel as mains.

  • I see where your coming from, but if you read the video comments and face a carl grab looper you'll know what i'm talking about. I respect your theory and i wish it worked that way but unfortunately as sad as it is it doesn't lol

But no worries dude i hope i didn't offend you in any way or anything, i'm sorry if i did ^^

  • its fine ^^

  • The only way to get out is to not get in in the first place- That's why it's so good, that's why Carl is as high tiered as he is.

  • carl actually isnt very high tiered.. i believe he is mid tier but was bottom until they found the clap loop... the only way to escape it is to damage nirvana before you get into the loop, or hope the carl messes up..

  • Top three turned into top 4 after sbo, and Carl is in it.

  • This is crazy... How fun can it really be to perform this on people? I would think it would be completely boring after a while.

  • i play super smash bros brawl, this tech reminds me of the iceclimbers chain grab (basically a 0-death grab thats inescapable if done right).

its not fun, but people will do it because it means winning

  • Why are people bitching about this loop? It's hard to even do this. You also have burst. And since they are using Carl, you should have been attacking Nirvana during the match too. And using Nirvana also uses her meter. Seriously, quit bitching people.

  • I got Looped four times in two matches just a few minutes ago- (got me every time).

Twice, we were both on one side of the stage and Nirvana was on the other. He knocked me up into the air, teleported Nirvana , air grabbed, was already clapping and I got fucked.

I play Nu, so it's hard not to destroy Nirvana- in fact I usually do it every match. Sadly, you can't hit her when a Carl is in your face defending the rape on the other side of the screen, waiting to loop you.

  • agreed.

  • anyone uses this in any shape or form need to be shot, raped in the ass, and shot again like this loop!

  • Btw, how does Ragna escape the loop?

  • Added in the description as of now.

  • He didn't do it on everyone. Hakumen's missing from the video. O.o

  • And Rachel too.

  • Read the description

  • it works on hakumen trust me. im a hakumen user and this stupid fuckin loop keeps owning me. still trying to figure out to get out.

  • Obviously you never think harder enough

  • Hakumen can escape the throw loop by simply doing throw escape into counter. that will let you avoid the throw loop.

  • please ignore the comment from user Alb2Mnd. He's a troll. If you get asshurt by his comment, i will laugh at you.

  • This is one of the reasons this game is completely awesome. Just spend time learning Carl, the hardest character in the game to use, and you get rewarded with this awesome combo that is still fairly difficult to pull off. What kind of awesome stuff is that, a balanced maneuver.

  • why do they yap a lot? yap yap yap. gg tho

  • READ THE DESCRIPTION, IDIOT.

  • no you cant

  • There's just the minor problem of running into an air unblockable 8D and eating the next throw. That's why this loop works.

It even explains in the description.

  • this loop makes carl arguably the best, but Nu is really good too, i cant say who is better at high level play

they would need to shorten the length of time on the claps hitbox to fix this

  • u can tech clap enf od discussion

  • you should learn to type complete sentences, but yeah if you could tech the clap earlier that would work too

  • *end of

    happy nao ? ^^

  • *changes nao to now*

    yes

  • ~.~;; i know its normally spelled now

  • i was being facetious

  • I HATE JESTINGLY ANSWERS Ò_Ó !!

  • HA! You missed a few! Rachel, Hakumen, and Carl (yes, he still counts as "everyone").

Second...why all the monochrome color palettes? I mean, I know it's one of the colors for everyone, but...wow, does it clash on those bright backgrounds.

Overall, though, nice exhibition. Heh heh, lower-than-Johnny tier my ass...

  • @CrimsonZanpakuto

Well those are the characters that can get out of the loop.

  • Haku? Niiiice!

  • escape the trhow and you at least give Carl a bit more trouble....is it possible to bust after a throw tech and escape completely?

  • Yes and no, you get hit by the clap and the combo will be reset which means more damage if he can get you back into the clap loop easy :S.

  • The clap will hit you since you can't block it, then he will grab you out of the air again...

That is, if I understand the purpose of the clap there.

  • I play Rachel. she has no problem escaping his loops because of her gust.

  • DESU

  • You know the reason why nirvana does the 8D (Clap)? So if the opponent does grab break, they would still get hit by the 8D (clap).

  • ....

  • And get clapped.

    Lolololol

  • doesn't it still end the loop, even though you do get clapped once more.

  • Wow, serious skills.

  • This shit is so lame.

  • I agree...

  • I wonder how many people pull this off online.

  • I've seen it a couple of times, and I've not been able to get the set up right.

  • Nirvana looks funny when she claps like that.

This loop is so ridiculous that it's funny.

  • what is the combo he uses to get the character into the loop?

  • i hate seeing broken shit like this in games i like

  • Ya...

  • I agree and disagree. GGXX had cheap stuff, but they made all characters cheap in their own way to balance the game. Not to mention, This isn't easy to do. I get trapped in Jins corner throw loop often.

  • escape the throw from jin then you will be free from the loop. How is that hard to get out of

  • If you tech out of tech out of the throw, then you get hit by Nirvana, which gives Carl another opportunity to throw you.

  • i new someone was going to respond to my comment without reading it.Read my comment again and you will see your mistake.i was replying to spacirelei. If you didnt know ragna racheal and hakumen can escape carls loop

  • Well I got that part. yeah. but it becomes so customary to try and shake out of it. that in my frenzy, I am actually ruining my chance at getting out of a throw.

  • This isnt hard to get caught in...

  • won't this only work if Nirvana's clap hits the person after the air throw? if the clap doesn't hit it should be able to get teched out of right? Anyways nice find

  • It's used to hit them mid air since it goes through barrier i believe, and its a crossover so its difficult to escape. Also, if you look closely at the person being thrown, it looks like it prevent them from slaming down and bounding up somehow, trapping them in grab range and making it even harder to escape.

  • Comment removed

  • Burst won't always save them. I do recall a fight between Carl and Jin where they barrier bursted, and they ended up getting hit by the shockwave.

  • Cant you just tech the throw?

  • nope.

  • its cheap but as ppl said, its predictable and against an experienced player its not that easy to pull off... REALLY good players can do it online but not anyone who picks up carl is going to pull this off against a decent player. its not that cheap unless your a carl pro.

  • Aka DIO.

  • you should be able to burst out of it, right?

  • ya but get setup in it again and you're screwed

  • Well, yeah. But that's the only way you're avoiding DIO's crazy shit.
