What a brilliant piece of work; I've got the program, yet I''ve not even tried to do anything with it yet. Your video here as just inspired me to try and get to grips with it. I've always loved architecture, so one day I'd like to be able to create something equally as good as yours. thanks for showing us it. Glen
There is not really a specific way to design the insides of buildings in sketchup. I would recommend that you not build all of the exterior and then move onto interior. In large interior volumes it is easier to manipulate the interior, but with a house it will be harder because the area is usually not that large. Don't put in the roof or one of the exterior walls until last to get full control of object placement while designing the inside of your building.
I admit it's bad. I didn't use any of it for my portfolio. It is something I did Year1 in the architecture program and first year stuff is very hit and miss.
If you render the scenes in higher resolutions by going to export - obtions and choose for example 600-800 resolution and then take the stuff to moviemaker or other movie programs, you will gett more compact results. Nice work though. Lot of hours :-)
the class that i did this in was very intense and so it took about three evenings to complete. Waiting for the animation took a very long time. I ended up using three computers at once.
good job on design. you have really good detail to your model. you used materials and color really well. music fits really well and the movie flows great.
Awesome Design. I love the way you were inspired by the 60s but didn't let that rule you. You still kept the sense of style current. The entire project is very visually stimulating, with fantstic lines and textures. Very inovative. Good Job.
As somebody with extensive travel experience in Spain, I have to say that I can see myself enjoying some delicious tapas here. I like the chic yet casual atmosphere. Good job!
Hey Katie! I truly enjoyed the starting aerial view of your model. It served as a great precursor the interior as well as got me psyched on what was to come! Oh and the dissolving cross-section was pretty awesome, I liked how you implemented that. All in all I really dug your design concepts and the video. Thanks!
This is a nice design. I would have liked to have seen more of the main room on the lower level, it was interesting. The restaurant is excellent and it has a lot of potential.
I really liked your building. It is very practical and still well designed. I could watch this video a million times and not get bored because there is so much detail and exciting things to look at.
This video is really fun to watch. You did a great job with all of the camera angles and movements. The color schemes are really great too. My favorite part of the restaurant is the floor-to-ceiling windows!
So this is what you spent all of your time on! It turned out great, I'd love to go there and get some tapas with you. It is so hip and stylish, I would have to dress up.

The easy way if you have all the outside done is th use section planes to hide the bits you dont want to see i.e. walls and roof.
keeper477 3 years ago
This was meant to be a response to trunkinthefront. (Must have hit the wrong key somewhere).
keeper477 3 years ago
U design the inside before the outside.
bamboali 3 years ago
it could be done that way. sometimes i keep the exterior in mind while working the interior.

Also, use BB FlashBack to record your video. It has much higher quality compression.
