They should have had the Firebird TransAm based on the new Camaro Zeta chassis or fuck even a new GTO or a modern Tempest! but a G8? 4door? Terrible! Pontiac should have just released a V8 S-10 as their flagship vehicle.

It seems like they finally get the Pontiac line-up just right by focusing on cars that perform well and throwing out the BS minivans/SUVs that should have never been in the brand in the first place. And then they kill the brand. YET THEY KEPT BUICK?! (Not that Buicks are bad mind you, but I guess it's an unwillingness to consolidate them with Cadillac.) And they expect Pontiac fans to move to Chevy? Frankly I suspect this idea will fail as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hundai gain new customers.

We grew up with Pontiacs. When I was a boy with perhaps 7 years a neighbour here became a bit rich and then he got a Pontiac Bonneville Convertible . Metallic blue, all extras which were possible....

And NEW !

That was the greatest here at that time.

We had here cars which looked like 40s, at least in many parts here. The most European cars were totally uncool for us children...

Ok, not Ferrari or Merci 300...

That has just become my favorite car ad. Pure genius. Too bad I first saw this the week they announced Pontiac is being shut down. The idiotic part is, GM at present doesn't plan to rebrand any Pontiacs. They were at one point looking to replace the Impala with a rear drive platform to share with the Camaro's (which is the same as the G8s). HULLO. Introducing the 2011 Chevy Impala SS. What are they waiting for?!?!?
