  • I call this one "The Metro Goldwyn Mayer Wizard of Oz Logo"

  • But 20th Century Fox Still Owns The Rights To A Extensive MGM Library.

  • @vanessahudgens6677 20th Century Fox only owns the distribution rights to the post-1986 MGM library. The pre-1986 library is completely owned by Warner Bros. after Turner merged into Time Warner.

  • @FContreras85 In 2016, TCF will be replaced back with Sony.

  • @ChiuahuaTubeALT Really? Where did you learn that?

  • WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO THE MAN DIED, the urban legend about the lion

  • excellent memories

  • I LOVE Leo and Jackie. I have many, many Movies and Cartoons that start with this fella and my Son likes to watch this guy more than the show! roar, I mean ROARRRRR! Hahahaha

  • rawr!

  • Come on Lion-o!

  • Back in the 20' 30 The MGM Lot was at what is now Sony.

    In Culver City.

  • lmaoo. that lions roar is pathetic compared to the other ones.

  • Burrrrrp.

  • That lion is ashes

  • that video is not too bad.

  • It´s just a wall with a hole and a lion behind.

    hsauhsasahu

  • i think he is very hungry

  • B&W MGM You Are still the Best.

Washington Blvd Culver City MGM Now Sony Pictures God Bless You

    Great Happy Mamories

  • The Culver City lot isnt MGM??

  • MGM sold the Culver City studio in 1986 to Turner who later sold it to Lorimar. It's now known as Sony Pictures Studio, home to Columbia and Tri Star. MGM is now partly owned by Sony, so one could call the lot 'MGM' again. Sort of...

There isn't much left of the studio from it's glory days. Most of the backlot was sold in the 1970's and most of the props and costumes were thrown out , given away or auctioned.

    Thank Kirk Kerkorian for that.

  • my grandma was brn in 1920 n i think she saw dis MGM lion rusty who wus 20 yrs old

  • Wow

  • lol

  • Cool 5/5 ^_^

  • After Tanner, this guy sounds like he's just purring.

  • This roaring effect was a cougar variant.

  • Cougar? What do you mean cougar?

  • What I mean is that a cougar sounds different than a lion. It's growl is louder.

  • what are you trying to prove? a lion would still whoop a cougars ass any day

  • a gorilla would kill em both, an an elephant would kill a gorilla

  • a mouse or rat can kill an elephant so HA!

  • A tiger's effect.

  • Sounds like the lion's voice is over dubbed with burping.

  • This version of "Leo" also appeared before the start of Hal Roach's two-reel comedies and features from 1929 through 1938, when MGM distributed his studio's output. Most of his comedies still feature this opening....

  • When did he died or didn't he?

  • I don't know when he died, but I doubt he's still alive.

  • He died.

  • Jackie has to be dead by now also Tanner

  • I like this lion more than the recent one.

  • one of the few remaining clips of this Cat. Legend has become Myth!! Very good video! The bible cat. Proverbs 30:30

  • Iteresting!! this is a "Barbary Lion" The original King of Beasts! 30% larger than african male lion! extinict in the wild 1920's!

  • Personally, I found Jackie much easier to take than Tanner...he'll scare the crap outta you if you don't have advance warning.

  • This is the version that scared the crap outta me when I was a kid.....

  • Hey! Me too. I always thought I was crazy. Now I feel better that we share the same fear!

  • SOUNDS LIKE A CAR GOING VROM VROM

  • didn't the lion attack rite after tis clip to like some robbers? it wasnt rly suppose to roar

  • No, that's just an urban legend...it originally didn't roar (hey, it was the silent era, LOL), but after the industry went all-talkie, they opted to take advantage and allow Leo to be heard.

  • I saw this first logo during The Wizard of Oz.

  • exept it plays another fanfare

  • This is the "prototype" version from around 1928-1938 featuring Jackie, in which it has the drama mask from the 1924-1928 MGM logo.

  • I saw Jackie on The Unknown (starring Lon Chaney)...

  • I've seen Jackie on The Unknown, The Unholy Three and The Big Parade! I love Jackie and I haven't seen in the years! Tanner in the MGM logo it's way too flashy. :P

  • Sounds like he is snoring.

  • Kinda sounds like the lion has an upset stomach!

  • thanks,I needed this so much.this will scare the wits out of my brother's friends.
