my girlfriend works as a SLP and she even agrees that there are so many cases that are deemed autism only so that the govt can pay for services. savage is not saying that autism doesnt exist; he is merely stating that there are alot of cases that are simply children with learning disabilities must not specifically autism. there are also cases where children are not disciplined and act out..

@AlSidre I had to work hard to get where I am today and i was often very lonely and confused why I acted so different than everyone else, and it took me a long time to understand certain social behavior. People who just make excuses annoy me. Maybe normal people and people with ADHD or Autism can meet somewhere in between. We do our best to try an integrate and understand these strange customs and you can help us by making sure that we get the help and support we need to have a successful life.

What I really hate is if people use their disability as an entitlement, which is where I suspect the myth of ADHD and Autism as a hoax came from. People who use their disability to get a free pass to do whatever they want make me angry. No I am not saying that you should just lay down and take everything society throws at you. you can, no you should ask for help if you have trouble and you should be assertive

@AlSidre I had to work hard to get where I am today and i was often very lonely and confused why I acted so different than everyone else, and it took me a long time to understand certain social behavior. People who just make excuses annoy me. Maybe normal people and people with ADHD or Autism can meet somewhere in between. We do our best to try an integrate and understand these strange customs and you can help us by making sure that we get the help and support we need to have a successful life.

ADHD has a tendency to be horribly over diagnosed. children who have trouble concentrating and are hyperactive may not always have ADHD, sometimes they are just bored or have trouble understanding the material. It is important to distinguish between what are just bad habits, like for me it is procrastination ( I will have to get back to work after this post) and things that the child is not able to influence on his own. When I was younger I was in a sports group where I could get out some of my extra energy, but to be honest I am not very fond of shrinks myself. For me Ritalin really helps me focus and I can tell when I don't take it. I get easily distracted and I am more prone to just letting my thoughts wander.

Savage was wrong to say 99% are brats, but many kids are misdiagnosed for many things. My nephew has Aspergers (a mild form of Autism) When he was four he was not diagnosed. He kept being rough with things in the house and no matter how many times I told him no or stop, he kept looking at me and doing the same thing. Finally I slapped his hand and he cried a little, but he instantly understood what no and stop meant.

People are too fucking sensitive anymore. What he said was the fucking truth. Autism and ADD are overdiagnosed. There are some cases where it is a true disability, but most of time it is not.

Overdiagnosed considering his Ph. D and the factors he could have misdiagnosed several children over the years that would be a cause and case for medical malpractice. I've seen it from Rosemund and from several others. Yes Autism is a diagnoses of course Tara you have never worked The Carolina or the ESI. What Savage has done makes mention that it can be viewed as child abuse if parents deny their child inclusiveness and in most factors neglect them and verbally abuse them.
