The engine is Packard's own 42 litre V-12 ,the video man has the title wrong. It's 4-valve S.O.H.C per bank. Each cylinder is 3 1/2 litres and on "full hole" would shift a gallon in 15 seconds. Nothing to do with Merlins - they a were dinky 27 litres.The carb richness is deliberate to encourage flames and can be switched off. There are three fuel tanks totalling 61 gallons with the side-mounted torpedos adding 18 gallons of oil. Weight 2.7tons.
