  • Love the sound

  • That would use a lot of gas if it got it.

  • That's a 1500hp grill, not an engine...

  • a total spastic moron with a camera

  • This thing can probably pull half as much as Chuck Norris

  • bring out the hot dogs and burgers!!!!

  • they see me rollin - they hatin

  • @ambras1337 can you say torque...

  • @240SSONLY

    2000 foot pounds of it!

  • GEIL!!!!!!

  • oil companies like this

  • eco bug

  • Must literally melt the road!!!

  • This thing is probably bullying the little 4 cylinder Ford Fiesta

  • 3L for 1minute

  • I quess those flames are actually made by retarding ignition, which, at the times, was manually controlled.

  • how much petrol was wasted ?

  • The engine is Packard's own 42 litre V-12 ,the video man has the title wrong. It's 4-valve S.O.H.C per bank. Each cylinder is 3 1/2 litres and on "full hole" would shift a gallon in 15 seconds. Nothing to do with Merlins - they a were dinky 27 litres. The carb richness is deliberate to encourage flames and can be switched off. There are three fuel tanks totalling 61 gallons with the side-mounted torpedos adding 18 gallons of oil. Weight 2.7tons.

  • needs to tune the richness in the carb but BADASS

  • This is the car the devil drives when he comes to earth

  • lol engine belongs on a ferry

  • drum brakes on the front?

  • looks like a big engine... but 90% of it is the fuel tank :P

  • @ShopSongs The engine displaces 27litres. It is pretty darn big !

  • @CaptHollister Actually it's 42 litres. Even bigger!

  • that is a serious health hazard!

  • Wonder if this would pass the smog test?

  • FUCK that's mad

  • I think Satan lives in the exhausts.

  • Nice shirt Mark.

  • 1,000,000.00 mph?

  • do you think it was filled with unleaded? leaded fuel engines have to have the timing advanced for unleaded because it takes slightly longer to burn.

  • Got an extinguisher for when he sets the grass on fire?

  • Dear jesus god...

  • top speed 470 kmh but 1 mpg

  • @MsCrappants more like 20 gallons per mile

  • All engines should sound like this.

  • @apachenoise loll if they did, u would change ur mind man XD

  • i think its running a little rich

  • Wtf its like a barbeque pit, cook some meat on the bitch.

  • global worming....

  • i bet it gets good gas mileage

  • Turn the volume up? Nothings louder then dudes shirt in the beginning of the vid.. The cars nice though..

  • massa

  • its probley ot of petrol just sitting

  • can it also drive?

  • I think it might be running a tad rich!

  • This is a giant toast machine!

  • dear santa...

  • the guy who designed the exhaust wasn't realy into pedestrians XD

  • bring the marshmellows....

  • wicked flames rum

  • it is only a V12 but it is a twin-port

  • @MegaZsolti okay and what does twin port acutally mean?

  • @baujahr90er Four valves; two intake and exhaust valves.

  • @MegaZsolti then why does the title say V24 engine and did they have the technology to make 4 valves per cilinder already back then, wow :o

  • @JonastyTheNasty probably the author has made a mistake. look it up, it is a V12

  • @MegaZsolti so its a w24?

  • @recommendme no it´s still a V12, it just has one exhaust pipe for each exhaust port

  • @recommendme No, it's equipped with a Packard Merlin (license-built version of the Rolls-Royce Merlin) with twin exhaust valves and twin exhaust ports per cylinder. Impressive, but "just" a big V12.

  • 0.2 gallon / foot

  • @snipesre If you can afford car like this, you can afford to fuel it with allot of gasoline.

  • @snipesre u were close.. it came out to 1.2 gallons per inch... this car had a towing package on it.. that towed a trailer which acted as an external gas tank

  • eye candy :D

  • Just seen `Mavis` today at the Brooklands Double Twelve. Speaking to the owner, Chris, I asked him if driving her ever made him, ahem, `soil` himself. He grinned, laughed and said `yeah, all the time. That`s the point of a car like this. I`ve got 7 inches of travel on the throttle pedal, but I`ve only ever used an inch. Gonna try for an inch and a half today`.....he also owns a Napier-Bentley, fitted with a W-12 cylinder 24-litre Napier Lion aero-engine, which I saw running too......

  • !!!42 litre!!! Packard V12 aero engine, developing 1500 bhp (1100 kW) OMG

  • How many gallons to the mile?

  • @joeshmo14760 enough to make al gore shit his pants ten thousand times

  • @eaglesdood16 HA HA! Down with the Green Peace poofter brigade!

  • Sounds like my wee wife's 194 (L-6) Chevy...when we open the "cut-out" exhaust. She prefers that sound to the horn.

  • WOT THE FUCK IS THATTTTTT WHAT A CAR IS THAT I CANT FUCKING BELIEVE THIS SHIT OHHH MYY GODDDD JESSSUUUSS MY NEIGHBOURS ARE SWEARING ME NOW BECAUSEE I AM SHOUTINNGGGGGG LIKE A METAL SINGEEERRRR

  • Aparently it failed the emmitions test on its last mot haha

  • Sadly a V12 not V24 (split exhaust manifolds) 42ltr , each cylinder 3 1/2 ltrs

  • that must have 1200 hp O.o

  • @Extraleague 1600 to be precise

  • now slap 6 HKSt51SPL's on that.

  • This is made of badass and win.

  • la BUNE A.q BUna BENzin mi YEter

  • its a V12 with two pipes per cylinder 2400 cubic inch

  • cool vid man but u got 1 of it going?? would be nice cya
